  1. You will be eating in one of the open resturants when first boarding. Here is what you need to do to help yourselfs.

One ask if there are nuts in it if so then don't take it. They will tell you if nuts are in anything if asked. You can ask for a new spoon or plate of food if you wish. Gluten free people do this all the time to prevent cross contamination.

Two see the Mait'd the first day. He is usually set up in the Dingin Room on deck four from 1-4 pm. Tell him of you son's problems and he will arrange to give you the meal choices for the week a day ahead and you can order early to ensure that he gets what he needs.

When going to other resturant go a day ahead and arrange with them what you will eat and what time. You can not just walk up and expect them to be ready, give them a chance to provide the service required.

Take a couple of epi pens with you in origianal containers. (for emergency.) If he goes to kids club make sure the staff are aware of the problems and leave a pen with them.

I suggest you ask for a small table for your family only so that others can not accidently give him a nut.

I have allergies too and have had co-operation even when away from main dining room, the secret is to ensure that they know ahead.

One other suggestion. Inform the medical staff on boarding of you son's allergy so they if they are called because of him they are ready. Just go to Medical upon boarding give them your name and cabin number and your son.s age and weight at time of boarding. This will help them react quickly if required.

I like this post. I some how came down with Nut and Seafood allergies about 10 years ago and now carry an epi pen with me everywhere. I have been on the Oasis and have Allure booked for November. Although there are options, there are thousands of people to accommodate. Please make sure you communicate and ask questions. Inform every waiter who serves you. Know what you/he/she can have and what you/he/she cannot have. ASK. INFORM. I react to just the smell of peanut butter now and am amazed at my own family and friends who "don't remember" and "don't take it seriously" saying I am overreacting. Definitely be kind, smile, introduce yourself and just ask for safe options.
