  1. First, I should note that this is my first post, so I am trying to play nice, but I have to somewhat hope I am not violating any rules. Second, my little variation on this theme is unlikely to work out, but I can't resist posting it, regardless of the level of fantasy. Our Southern Gospel group has talked about taking a cruise, more as an opportunity to practice a couple of times a day instead of once a week as we normally do. We are what you might call a local group having never sung much more than 50 miles from our home base in Virginia. If anyone were to work on coordinating a group of Christians who wanted to cruise, and while cruising would like to add some singers to the faith oriented activities we would like to explore possibly coming along as participants and provide a few (chapel) concerts. Toward such a cruise group, let me propose a mini framework. I propose the Carnival Pride out of Baltimore (because I know it has a chapel that was little used, and Baltimore is close by). Also, I propose that a clergy person, be "engaged" and that the denomination of the the preacher be known (after all, we protestants are a fractious lot, and it would be best if those of us signing up would be comfortable with the doctrine of the preacher.) We would probably want to allow the preacher and perhaps given enough participation the preacher's spouse to enjoy the "free" fare that goes with booking a group. I'd also propose, that aside from free or reduced fares for "leaders" no cruisers be compensated. Of course, whoever might coordinate such a group cruise would be actually calling the shots, I'm just laying out what I thing are minimal conditions to make it workable. Again, it's mostly fantasy and unlikely to happen.
