I am looking at a 20 day cruise in late November/December on Princess Sapphire called Southeast Asia grand adventure.

Anyone recommend it? Hate it? The reviews I've read talk mostly about the ship. Did you feel the ports and itinerary were worthwhile? Excursions? And if you traveled in the winter, what was it like?

Thanks, everyone. I have *almost* as much fun planning and looking forward to the trip as I do enjoying it, and I know there are questions I'm too unsophisticated to ask. So keep the ideas coming!

And of course I'm open to other ships and itineraries.

I am deciding on a fjord cruise and currently am looking at 3, and I need your thoughts. I am interested in scenery and small towns, not cities, culture, and history this trip. My travel agent is recommending also doing the arctic circle as well while I'm there.

Thanks for such great responses and ideas! I really appreciate it. Maybe someday I'll be seated with you and get to meet such welcoming people.

I've never cruised by myself before. Don't get me wrong, I'm great at entertaining myself, and I'm excited about the trip. I'll probably eat in my room some of the time, or the Lido, but I do want to eat in the MDR some of the time. I don't know how they handle it if a single person walks in for dinner. I have open seating. Will they put me with others (who may not want an interloper) or give me a little table by myself?

What would you do to be comfortable and still enjoy everything the cruise offers?

I'm going to the Caribbean for the first time this December. My love is snorkeling and I am considering signing up for it or snorkeling+wildlife at almost every stop. But what if the weather is bad? I imagine they'd still do the excursion, but several bad days might be too many for not-quite-great day trips.

Any information on others' experience and advice? Do these excursions usually fill up pre-trip or could I wait and see about a few?
