  1. We have not sailed over holidays, but when sailing off-the-holidays, the number of children we see is pretty low relative to Carnival. Then again, we don't usually (with a few exceptions) cruise during summer, so maybe it picks up over those months.

Bottom line ... bring your kids!! Otherwise, NCL is going to turn into Royal Carribean with a bunch of stuffy, uptight old folks :) - kidding!

  2. You got to go after midnight that's when it really picks up and gets jumping. they gotta wait for all the old people to go to bed lmao. trust me after midnight it's a very fun. I've seen girls making out with each other and dancing suggestively its awesome lol.

I love you, man! Best. Post. Ever.

    Stay thirsty, my friend. :)

  3. 6432 is an "L-shaped" cabin. We loved ours on the Victory. The extra balcony room was great and the noise was not a factor. However, you are trading balcony depth with the aft extended for balcony width with the "L-shaped" cabin.

We are booked for a deck 8 aft extended in May. There is something about wake watching that is calming to me.

You will get a breeze with 6432, but not so much with the aft extended.

  4. We booked an aft-extended balcony on the Victory (Cat 8N) for May. Someone was nice enough to post a YouTube video of the cabin ... the balcony is actually a little wider than the other cabins in the same category. I guess it has something to do with the balconies next to the wrap arounds. We are hoping they upgrade the bathrooms with the dry dock this month. We are a little disappointed the Victory is not getting all the 2.0 upgrades. Oh well ... boats drinks!! :)

  5. Eh, we usually see the cabin steward as we unpack. Pleasantries are exchanged and several Jacksons are palmed to the steward. Without exception, We receive a smile in exchange and every reasonable request (we are not that needy) is promptly fulfilled. Toward the end of the cruise I give the steward a bump (a bigger bump if the casino is kind). Like it or hate it, that's how I handle my business. Feel free to do your own thing.

  6. We feel that Carnival is the Wal Mart of the seas ... we still cruise with Carnival, but we lowered our expectations when we do. We also cruise with NCL, which we feel is a step up, but more expensive. We have also cruised with RC, but the cost and demographic are not of our liking.

We don't feel a particular loyalty to any one cruise line ... if we don't like the service, etc, then we just go somewhere else. Loyalty only works if it flows both ways (sort of like a marriage) and right now I don't believe there is much loyalty from Carnival to me so we do't reciprocate.

We are booked on the Victory in May not based on loyalty, but based purely on price ... it's not personal ... just business :)

  7. Salad, Beef + breaded shrimp + veg, dessert.

They start serving very quickly. I think when the main magician was working the crowd before the show started we were beginning to eat.

I would plan to be there 15-20 minutes before the start time. You can get better seating if you get there earlier, but there are better things to do than sitting in a chair on the first day waiting for the show to start.
