We are going on a land/cruise on the Princess Cruise Ship and I would like to take my Digital (DSLR) camera and a few lenses. My camera bag is a backpack and would be a carry on. From what I'm reading, when you are being transported on the rail to the lodge you are only allowed one carry on that goes under your seat. Does that mean I can't take another bag for my clothes? Has anyone been on this trip and could advise me if I should take my large digital camera or should I just stick with a small point and shoot?

Going to a specialty restaurant on formal nights is a good idea.

We will be taking an Alaskan Cruise next July on the Princess Line. We have taken several Caribbean Cruises with Carnival. We have done the formal nights with Carnival before except for our last cruise, when we decided we just didn't want to go to the trouble. It was no big deal on Carnival, we just hung out by the pool and ate pizza, lol. It was great, it wasn't crowded for once. I'm not sure if this will go over well with Princess? Does everyone do the formal nights on Princess? How many of y'all does the formal nights and how many doesn't?
