Regal Princess
We were upgraded for free from BZ obstructed balcony to DC unobstructed duluxe balcony. Any ideas how good an upgrade that might be?

Re Ft. Lauderdale - any advice on inexpensive motels/hotels that are decent? We figure to fly in the day before our cruise...

I just looked at the floor plan for the Regal and the BZ Balcony which I booked. There aren't many BZ balconies listed - only 4 that I can see on the floorplan which are on the Lido level, L110, L114, L109, L115. These 4 balconies list the obstruction as: PART OBSTRUCTED VIEWGLASS BALCONY RAIL - this doesn't sound like an obstruction to me?
Thoughts? Does anyone know where I can find actual pictures of the rooms?

I was just checking the prices for our upcoming trip 11/16 on the Regal Princess. I noticed the balconies were down to $699 and we paid $624 for an inside cabin. I contacted my TA and Princess upgraded us to balcony E630 and we now have $150 OC instead of $100 for no additional cost. It says on the Princess web site that its obstructed but on CC pictures it appears its not.
newbie here - what is "CC pictures"?

This is only our second cruise (the first one we "won" so we didn't have a lot of choice in cabins).
We are going to the Caribbean on the Regal Feb 15 (post Valentines... awww...:D) - I went ahead and booked the "cheapest" balcony figuring the cheapest balcony is better than an interior but wonder if it is worth the extra $? I know we will use the balcony if we have it but... it is an extra $300 (still hoping for an upgrade or price drop between now and the final payment being due....)

That deal is limited to certain cruises which is unfortunate - we tried for that but no prepaids. Did find some great room credits though which essentially covers the gratuities. :D
Help choosing floor on Regal

Wonderful! Thanks much. :o
On our last cruise we pretty much closed down the nightclub so evening noise shows or rehearsals shouldn't be an issue regardless. :) Hoping the lifeboats there don't obstruct the view from the balcony...
