Yes... We had booked about 6 months ago and it is amazing how 6 months can change your plans. This other couple we had planned to go with had to cancel because she has to go for a coronary stent or possibly two stents. My wife fell and broke her tail bone so we had to cancel... We will try again for a cruise in January if all goes well.

Thank you all for the information... I just called Holland America and they cancelled my cruise without a hitch. They will refund my credit card in 3 to 4 days. They were very professional.

Oh okay... Our health is always a priority and hope everything turned out okay. In my case it is work related. Now I have to seriously think about retiring LOL

When I took out the insurance, I asked them the same question and they told me "yes" so I hope this is the case.

I have to cancel my upcoming cruise with Holland America as I cannot get the time off work. I do have the platinum insurance that will reimburse me 90%.

Does anybody know if I will have a problem cancelling my cruise? I also took the return air fare through HAL and booked directly through their head office with no TA. Any info would be appreciated.

I checked on marinetraffic.com and she is moving at 16 knots on her own engines so I suppose they managed to make emergency repairs

Is there anyone taking this cruise on the Rotterdam Nov. 15th? I booked this cruise several months ago but I am now having second thoughts about going due to the ebola outbreak. I am more concerned about the flights I have to take to get to Cape Town as I do have a stopover in Johannesburg before changing planes to Cape Town. There are 5 new cases of ebola every hour and one never knows if there are any infected passengers on the planes that fly primarily in African Countries. Any thoughts??
