We are taking Reflection to Caribbean in November. Our port time in Tortola is 7am-2:30pm on 11/29.  We are interested in a 3 hour excursion called Destination Highlight: Norman Island Snorkeling. However, the start time is 1:15pm.  That means it ends at 4:15pm.  Will the ship wait for the group to return from the excursion before leaving the port?  Did I misunderstand something?

Anyone attended this excursion before? How do you like it?

    Thanks

Hi, did you end up going on the Norman Island Snorkeling excursion? How was it? TIA

  2. Warning to all. Do not book any Celebrity excursion that travels along the Windward Coast. And definitely don't do a boat tour.

    Not safe!

We booked a 4 & 1/2 hour excursion.  Included a drive along Windward coast,  glass bottom boat tour and drift snorkelling.

Nothing in the description about timing,  so thinking I will never take another excursion with no timelines.

When we got on the bus the driver told us the drive was about an hour and 10 minutes to the boat. We all looked at each other, none of us knew the drive was that long. Personally I wouldn't have booked an excursion where half of it is driving. Strike 1

The bus was older, not really an issue as we knew Tobago isn't the wealthiest island. But before we left late, the tour organizer told pur driver to rush because we were already late. Strike 2

The road was very, very windy, very tight , tons of traffic, many potholes, and many straight drops with low barriers. Didn't feel safe for much of the drive. It's definitely beautiful, but was hard to enjoy when you're holding on tight the whole ride.

After almost anhour and  a half drive, we finally got to Speyside where Tue boat was docked.

The excursion description said there was a 3 ft climb in or out of the boat, fine. But what they did not say was that the boat was not tied to the dock, 1 guy held a rope to keep the boat close and the other tried to help everyone in and out of the boat. Being tall, we both had trouble getting in,as you had to duck under the railing. Getting out was far worse,  husband almost fell between the boat and the dock. Boat was not stable at all, and having to duck down made it really hard to get up to the dock.

The boat itself, was small and e ermine in board got sea sick, due to the waves. Now the wind is not he excursions fault, but a bigger boat is always better. It was top heavy, and rocked way more than would be expected.

No safety talk when we boarded. Random lifejackets just sitting around the boat.

No snorkelling safety vests, no one came in the water with us, as I've experienced on other snorkelling excursions. At least there as a rope and life ring, most of us held onto the rope so we didn't drift too far from the boat.

Boat was rocking so much, a lot of us fell getting out. Getting in wasn't much better.

Cold pop and water was offered as help yourself from a cooler.

Bus ride back had less traffic, but due to this the driver was speeding and passing many cars as we were late back to the ship, again didn't feel safe.

I have read that Celebrity has many complaints about this and other Windward Coast tours. And may revisit these excursions. My advice would be not to do any of these tours unless there is a significant change to safety and timelines are explained.

  3. Silhouette, 10 day Jan 15-25, 2024, Aquaclass.

Blu waiters filled up our wine glasses too many times & brought extra appetizers or meals when we said we couldn't decide what to have.

Martini bartenders made us a custom martini and we didnt even ask for one.

The solarium wandering bartenders were too fast to come by again and our glasses were never empty.
And the water was way too wet.

The chairs in the Sunset Bar were too comfortable and we stayed there too long.

The excursions were way too organized, everyone made it from the theatre to the pier.
Oh and the towels they were handing out when we returned were so cold and refreshing.

The Silhouette staff smiled and said good morning and good evening every day, so annoying.

Still 2 days to go before Fort Lauderdale, wish we were there already.

    Have you tried cec@celebrity.com

My points took a bit longer than my husbands to show up.  You might give it another week.  I wouldn't be concerned about it yet.

    That's the correct email.

Got a reply back today, about a week or so after I sent one, about missing past cruises.

  5. Hello,

We will be on Silhouette in January in Aqua Class.

Does anyone know if we can request larger size robes to wear to wear to the Persian Garden.

We are both on the larger size and one size fits all, doesn't include us 😀

    Thanks for your help.

Won't stop us having a great time, but just thought I'd ask all you knowledgeable people.

I saw people doing laps early in the morning before the pool filled up.

    That's great news. Thanks.

I will be one of those people for sure, either in the morning, or around early dinner seating time, when the pools usually empty out.

Which I'm hoping will happen on Sky too?

Sorry, but the broken glass in the retreat pool was on both the steps and the two steps were still there when they emptied it to clean it.  We were in one of those new cabins adjacent to the area.

Can anyone confirm that you can actually swim in in of the Lido Pools? Are any of them deep enough (over 5' deep).

From what I'm reading here, both the Retreat and Wakeview Pools are only 3' deep, which is only good for a quick dip to cool off.

  8. I know it's early days for reviews and photos of cabins in the Sky Princess. But I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what type of furniture is on a large balcony club class mini suite. We're booked in R429 in 2021.

I've looked at the cabin compilation and videos on YouTube.

Basically I'm asking if there are footstools since we really like to hang out on our balcony sometimes.

    Thanks for any help,

    Carolyn

  9. Hi,

We're pretty sure we're going to book with Robinson's. But have a question about getting back in the boat?

How easy was it to climb back in from the water? Does the ladder hang far down into the water?

I'm not in the best of shape & have a few extra pounds, so not sure how hard it is to pull yourself out of the water.

Thanks for the info & great reviews.

    Carolyn from Canada
