  1. The Ifly may be a charge event if it is done on sailings that begin and end in China. I do not think it will be a charge item on any other sailing. We did the Singapore to Tianjin (China) cruise in April 2017 and there was no charge. The wife and I flew 3 times.

  2. That's exactly what we're looking at doing! Do you have any recommendations about transfer from Seward to Anchorage? RC mentioned how they could book us on the "bubble train" which I think is the same as a train I read on Alaska Trains, but their "Gold express." I'm not sure. I t was recommended to do a train rather than a bus for the view. What did you do? Any excursions you'd recommend? I was going to use a travel agent, but I don't see that she's really getting any better pricing or perks than I'm getting on my own. Did you use travel agent? Ok, I think I've already over stepped my questions for this post lol :) Thanks for offering your expertise! :) I'm just excited. Turning the big 5-0 next year...ugh! ...and this is how Im celebrating!

We got the 6pm glass dome train ( gold star) which we booked via the train company website- I would highly recommend the journey

All other excursions apart from a wildlife cruise in Seward we booked via RCI

All excursions were fantastic as too the whole trip-

  3. We have booked a cruise in February and are struggling to fill a day on our return as our flight back to the uk is late. Anyone have any ideas? We would prefer an organised trip with airport drop off so we are not worrying about where to store luggage etc

    Thanks

  4. Yes, there were 3 on the 12 night cruise. We didn't participate in any, but I only planned on 3 formal nights, so when the third popped up we booked into the Coastal Kitchen that night to avoid the MDR. We just were not going to lug extra clothes halfway around the world. I have no opinion on how closely the ship behaved regarding formal night, but the Diamond Lounge would typically have at least have the men dressed in tuxedos, suits or sport jackets. So, my feeling was that many people observed the formal night.

Must say it didn't affect us any any way.
