  1. Traveling onboard HARMONY next weekend. Have a group of diehard Bills, Cowboys … and sadly, Ravens Fans with us. I’ve ASSURED them the games will be playing somewhere other than in our rooms. Last time on Oasis there was a fun sports bar, but don’t see it on this ship. I’ve read that sometimes they are  shown in the main theatre, although Grease will be playing there. The Aqua Theatre will also be in use for a performance, so any thoughts where they can watch?!

  2. We are supposed to be sailing, as a party of 13, aboard Harmony next Saturday. Sadly, my Brother-in law passed away suddenly yesterday. He was not part of the cruise, but it’s all family members that will be joining us who want to be at the Funeral. We did not purchase  any type of Insurance.  My question is, do you think there is anyway we might be able to board in San Juan if we were all to fly down there? If so, how would you recommend we go about it? From what we’ve read, you cannot do this in advance through RCCL. We did use a TA, if that makes a difference.

    Appreciate any advice. Thank You.

  3. WOW WOW WOW……😹😹😹

Wasn't expecting such an array of passionate responses to my original question, but thanks everyone!

We’re taking a large group of family on this trip and we voted……Looks like it’s an 8 night trip on the Harmony, so hopefully Grease won’t be as bad as a couple of people mentioned, but it’s not a dealbreaker either way!!!

  4. I believe CATS had been on the ship for awhile when we sailed in January of 2020 and I’d read at that time shows typically run 5 years, so was hoping we might luck out.

To answer someones  question about what was/is so bad about CATS……for us it’s just a discombobulated story that is difficult to follow. It’s also very dark and dreary. The actors and music on board were all great but we didn’t care for it on Broadway either, so not their fault.

Anyhow…..we love all the evening entertainment and having CATS as the big show for the 14 of us is enough to try another ship. So, looks like either Harmony or Symphony this trip. Decisions….decisions……

  5. I have tried to find out....and understand..... how we can text each other while onboard the Oasis later this month. We have a party of 17, split up into 8 rooms. Some, but not all, are purchasing  Surf and Stream.

So, with each package, the person who is signed in will automatically be able to text anyone on board at no charge? Or must the recipient be signed in as well? And....the WiFi feature has to be ON? Does the receiver of the texts get charged as well?

I thought I read somewhere that there was a $.50 charge for texts, is that true? I was assuming that was without an internet package. If so, for anyone who is not connected to the Surf and Stream package,  will they be charged  on their S&S account through RCCL?

(Think we all have iPhones and service though AT&T or Verizon, if that makes a difference.)

And....if you can't tell, I am extremely technically challenged.....so thanks so much for any help or advice!

  6. Ok, So we are looking at the "sales" for Voom Packages and need some clarification!

Apparently it makes a difference what ship you are on from what I've read. We are on the Oasis, with 8 rooms in a row and hope to open the balcony dividers for easy access to each other. Being all one big, fairly happy family, my husband and I were considering purchasing four surf and stream packages. We figured if somebody wanted to use the internet they could just check in to see who's on, but realize that could quickly become a PITA. Is there a way to know if all four lines are being used so you need not worry about knocking another person off? Do you get four access codes, so perhaps two rooms could share one code to make it easier?

Thanks so much for any advice!

  7. Well........I definitely don't want to make EVERY night a formal night....although for me, it just means SLIGHTLY dressier top, capris or a sundress and maybe some added jewelry! As for all the guys on the trip.....its a button down or polo shirt, khakis and docksiders. We have always felt perfectly comfortable with this attire.

I have looked in the RCI App and don't find the formal nights mentioned. Nor are we STILL able to make entertainment reservations for our January Cruise.....but that's a different story......

  8. TALK to each other! There's a NOVEL IDEA! Actually, since our balconies are attached, we could all just lean over the rail and yell to one another!

And... I realize 17 people is a lot to try to co-ordinate! My husband and I have organized everyones trip from the minute they leave home until they return to their front door! I'm DONE with organizing! Not trying to micro manage , with kids from 10-24 roaming around the ship, all with different agendas, merely want to be able to keep in touch if need be....or send out group texts. We are only hoping to at least be together at Dinner each evening!

Since I believe everyone in our group has ATT or Verizon, $0.50 a text sounds like the perfect solution! Thanks!!

  9. We will be traveling on the Oasis in January with a party of 17. I'm trying to figure out the best way to stay in touch with each other (that doesn't cost a fortune). I thought I read somewhere that we might be able to text each other on board using the Royal App.  Is this true?  If not, any other creative suggestions besides leaving Post-it Notes on each others doors?!!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

  10. Can you tell me if there is a 24/7 Pizza or Food Venue available on the Oasis? ( Asking for a group of 20 something year olds we will be traveling with!) I remember on most, if not all ships we've been on, there is a pizza joint on the Lido Deck Aft. Is this the case on this ship as well? Also, is the soft serve machine running 24/7? Will they be able to get drinks with their food?

  11. We are planning to visit Chankanaab in March and one of our family members requires the use of a wheelchair, although is able to walk short distances with a cane when need be. I have read that the park is "somewhat accessible" but have been unable to find much more information on how doable this is. Would love to hear from anyone who has experience with this!

  12. We are flying into Ft. Lauderdale this afternoon on Southwest for our Allure Cruise tomorrow. I have affixed the color coded luggage tags to our suitcases. Is that OK? Just want to make sure they won't be intercepted and taken right to the Cruise Port somehow!

  13. Can anyone tell me if there are self service laundry rooms on the Allure? If so, do you know where they are located and what form of payment they take? ( We are on Deck 12 mid-ship.)

Also, I am confused about bringing our own beverages on board. Am I understanding correctly that RCCL does not allow it, but if you bring a case of water and/or soda they will/may let you self carry it on board??!!!

Thank You so much for any responses!

  14. We just returned from the Breeze last week-end, so I can answer a few of your questions.

We always go to Chankanaab while in Cozumel. We hop in a taxi and are there in 10 minutes. Lots of activities do or you can just relax on the beach.

We saw a couple of Comedy Shows and had no problem finding seats 10 minutes ahead of time. Even those walking in after the show started had luck doing so.

They still make made to order omelettes and there is usually a short line. ( They had a chocolate extravaganza during lunch on our last day that had the longest and slowest moving line I have ever witnessed on board, as in 45 minutes to an hour!)

We had no trouble finding chairs on sea days and sat in various spots on the Lido Deck.

I cannot comment on the Piano Bar.....not even sure where it is.....but there were tons of people at Kareoke when we walked by!

    Have a great cruise!
