From what I can see the holiday inn express is the closest hotel. Are there any other good choices close to the port? I'm going to be parking at the port so I don't need a shuttle.

I'm leaving this Saturday on the Carnival Sunshine. I looked at the NYC cruise port page and it shows nwcl leaving that day also from that port. What time should I plan to arrive? Will it be busier since there are 2 ships leaving that day? Do we all park together or is it separate parking? Alao I see a coupon for the Norwegian gem parking, any chance they would honor it for Carnival parking? Any help would be great. This will be my first time driving to NYC.

Thank you for all your help, I really appreciate it! Can you tell me which Hampton Inn in Mt Pleasant is closest to the port? I saw a couple different ones there.

I'm thinking about just driving in to the port. If I decide to do that, what's a good time to arrive there to park? I prefer to go early anyway. If I were to do that, what's a good close hotel with an easy drive to port?

Thanks for your help! I know about the shuttle once i'm there, that one was fine. I'm going in December. And for the price I guess i'd like to be no higher then $225, but it's always good to save money where I can! I say $225, because most of the hamptons I looked at were around that price with shuttle.

Sorry if my post was confusing. I would like to stay at a Hampton Inn. If I were to drive to the port is it a hassle? I've read reviews of people saying how the people getting shuttled in are on the ship earlier since they were still waiting in line to park. If I were to drive in which Hampton Inn would be the closest? Or any other close hotels just as good?

I used Holiday Inn before and was not happy with them. So, this time i'm set on using a Hampton Inn. Which one is the best? I see several, and i'm not sure which one to pick. There are 4 of us. I would like to get to the port as early as possible. My biggest problem with the holiday inn was the shuttle service was not reliable, very late both ways.

I just got off the fantasy and the playlist shows were motor city and the brits. I'm going to be going on the pride in July. Do the ships have different shows? And different comedy shows? How often do they change?

What is it like driving and parking at the port? I am only a couple hours away, so i'm planning on driving in the day of my cruise. Is there a line to wait in if they're not ready to take cars yet? Or is there some place close by to the port that we could drive to and wait? I plan on being there early. Any suggestions on what time I should try to be there by?

I'll be in Nassau Tuesday and we are there until 5pm. My plan was to go the straw market, pirate museum, then back to the ship for lunch and change for the beach. I had plans to just go to Junkanoo but now i'm not sure because i'm reading about cable beach. I don't want to pay for a day pass anywhere since I only plan on being on the beach there for an hour or two. Advice? Is there jitneys that come and go often from the cruise port to Junkanoo beach? What about cable beach?

I was planning on wearing black teva mush flip flops on formal night with my dress. Do you think I would be turned away for beach flip flops? Opinions please! Thanks!

I loved your review and all of your pictures! I'm going on my first ever cruise next week and it will be on the fantasy.

I am going on my first cruise in a couple of weeks. Should me and my kids bring our ipads or leave them at home? I'm not the type to sit around and read, and I guess with no wifi there's nothing I really want to do on my ipad. I will have my iphone. Is there really a need for my ipad? Is it possible to get bored on the ship and therfore I might need my ipad to read (which I don't do anyway)? We took our ipads to disney and they stayed in the safe the whole time. Not sure how different a cruise is. Thanks!!

Me and my kids (16,14,10) are going on our first cruise in a couple of weeks. Is there alot of stuff on the ship to do together? My kids say they don't want to go to the clubs, etc. Can they go to the shows with me? Are they specific on what kids can and can't do? I saw a previous fun times and i'm just not sure what kids can and can't do.

I'm going on a carnival cruise in January. It'll be our first one, and we want to at least see the beach even if it's too cold to go in. What is the difference between taking carnivals beach break excursion for $140 for the 4 of us to Taino beach vs. we take our own transportation there? How hard is it and how safe is it to do that when getting off ship? I don't know what to expect since this is all new to me. Also how safe is it since i'm a single mom traveling alone with 3 kids to do it on my own?

I'm going on my first cruise, carnival, alone with my 3 kids. In Nassau I want to do the pirates museum, the straw market, and maybe Junkanoo beach. Is there jitneys from the cruise port that go to all those locations? I know they are somewhat close, but i'm not sure if my youngest will be able to do all that walking. Are cabs safe to take? And if so how much would they run to all those? Also is it possible to get off our ship, return to ship for lunch, and then get back off again?

I am going on carnival horizon in June. It leaves from NYC. The earliest train has me getting to Penn station at 10:00am. I think that should be fine right? Is it easy to find my way around and a cab? I have to book my return train tickets. What time would be good to leave Penn station on debarkation day? And is it easy to get a cab back to Penn station when I get off the cruise?
