  1. I'm confused and new to the Vibe area.

If I am able to get a cabana, then I'm already in the Vibe area and have access to both, correct?

How much is the Vibe for two people? How much is the cabana? What does it mean the cabana comes with $100 OBC?

What time do I need to show up at the pier. I'll be in a spa balcony and not the Haven.

    Thank you.

I am also wondering the same thing? Does reserving a cabana for two in Vibe for the week for $329 include your vibe admission for two for that week or is it an extra $100 per person admission fee on top of the $329 canbana rental?????

  2. Anyone have any more photos of the Vibe beach club area? What does pass include? $99 per person for a week??? Does $329 or $299 for a cabana for two people include entrance to Vibe or is it additional to the $99 per person? Is it quiet there? Are clamshells or cabanas the same thing? If you have a cabana does that mean you are stuck in a shaded space or can you use sun loungers also? Anyone been there in late November? Wondering how busy it gets? Also, can anyone tell me what does spa pass include? Thanks.

  3. Vibe is a private "beach club" that offers keycard access to a separate sundeck area with several hot tubs and a bar. Covered cabanas are available for $299 per couple for the week, but that also includes a generous $100 credit for food and drinks.

I should also add that Vibe does offer umbrellas for regular loungers, but don't expect "full coverage" from the sun.

Can the Vibe pass or Cabanas be booked online pre-cruise or do you have to book these on board?

  4. Recently booked booked my first NCL cruise on the Getaway that included UBP and Specialty Dining pkg. I can't find any information about limits to UBP, is it valid everywhere on the ship? Also does anyone know what the bonus specialty dining pkg includes or what the limits are/how many dinners are included /which restaurants are included etc? Do you have to book ahead to get into specialty restaurants?

  5. First time heard of Vibe / Cabanas on Getaway. First time booking NCL, sailing Getaway in November. What is Vibe? How much do you have to pay for Vibe passes or Cabana reservations? Can you only book on board? Also anyone know anything about the Spa? How much are daily / weekly passes? What is included with spa pass? Worth it?

  6. Thanks for sharing your wonderful review and fantastic photos. I recently booked a cruise on the Getaway for a special occasion next November.. Then I read a lot of recent reviews that had nothing but really horrible things to say about the ship, the service and the food and entertainment. Some made it sound like a nightmare instead of a vacation. Was thinking maybe I made a big mistake and was considering cancelling until I read your positive review. I'm not too fussy and I don't go into a vacation looking for things to complain about either. Again, thanks for sharing.

  7. Hey eroller, Hello, loved your Disney Difference review! Wow, what an excellent review, so much detail, and you've been on so many different cruises I would guess that you have an experienced opiinion on things. I am not very experienced on cruises as I have only been on 1 DCL and 1 RCL but although I agreed with every good thing you said about the Disney cruise the one thing you mentioned that really stood out in my memory of our family cruise with DCL was the way the staff treats you. Beyond professional, they were all so friendly and warm and caring and made you feel like nothing was too much trouble, at least that was my experience. It was special. They made me feel like family. The DCL staff above anything else made our first cruise absolutely a dream holiday. I didnt get that treatment on RCL, nor that warm cared for feeling. Service on RCL was just okay, not bad but not special, nobody knew my name on RCL like on Disney. Food was very good on both my cruises, seemed quite comparable but had to pay extra for pop everywhere on RCL. Getting on and off the Disney cruise was way easier, no long lines waiting in hallways and on stairs like on RCL. As far as cost they were really about the same but our cabins were definately a bit nicer on Disney. Entertainment was better on our Disney cruise as was their private island Castaway Cay, in my opinion. Some extra features of the Royal ship were not found on Disney, like the rock climbing wall and the ice rink which were cool, however , we didnt use them. We were on the Independence of the Seas on RCL. I would sail again on RCL (would love to try Oasis or Allure although I probably wouldn't expect superior service on such a big ship) and try other cruise lines (Carnival is a bit cheaper and the Breeze looks nice) but so far Disney is number one with me for the people, staff/ service. There is something in the way they have trained their staff that I just found them so exceptional. I could not find a single complaint. I could not afford anything above this class of ship at this time, they may equal or surpass Disney service on more expensive lines but I couldn"t do a top luxury line. We are going back to try the Disney Fantasy next month and I am hoping it will be as good as our first DCL cruise and that the service we received on our first cruise was standard DCL and not just a lucky fluke.

  8. Most of these rules of etiquette are good but I wasn't crazy about a couple of them.

    5. Make choices quickly at the buffet (it helps to take a look before you get in line). The buffet line is also not the time to lecture your child or quiz a chef about every ingredient in every dish. (If you have food allergies, you may be better off eating in the dining room where the crew can help track what you're served).

I have a food allergy and I know lots of other people who also have food allergies or have children with allergies. They can make you ill, even be life threatening. Some are more severe than others and some people may not even want to risk a buffet. I have found Disney staff at WDW to be very helpful regarding food allergies whether at a sit down restaurant or a counter stop meal or buffet and I am expecting that the cruise line staff will be just as helpful. If you or your child have a food allergy you have no choice at any form of restaurant but to ask questions of the people who prepare the food. It is also nice to have some variety and not have to eat at the same place or the same foods every day. There is no reason you cannot step around these people with allergies at a buffet while they discuss food choices and ingredients at that buffet with a chef. If they are completely blocking your way say excuse me , they will move and then you can pass or get at what you want. What is the big deal? I think that to suggest that people with food allergies should only go to the dining rooms and not also be able to enjoy some of the foods at the buffet with their family while on their cruise holiday would be unfair.

    10. Follow the dress code. Nothing gets the ire of fellow passengers more then when they follow the dress code – putting on a jacket or tie, for instance – and you blow it off, showing up in the dining room carefree in a Hawaiian shirt.

My teenage son is adamant that he doesn't want to dress up and I really dont care to get too fussy on vacation. Vacations are about relaxation and fun for us. Some people like dressing up but some don't. I'll wear something nice but not formal wear, no gowns, jackets or ties . As long as we're clean and respectable I don't see why it matters to anyone around us what we are wearing, live and let live. If it was really a rule, a firm dress code that had to be followed, I would just avoid the dining room on that night. I recently inquired directly with DCL regarding formal nights and was told that participating in the "dressing up" was completely optional and that anyone who was not participating in formal wear was still welcome to attend their scheduled dining rotation arrangement for the evening. I hope I was not misinformed or I'll be headed back over to the buffet line with my allergy.:D
