  1. We only stay at La Concha for our San Juan trips now. Love it. Nice beach. Nice bars. Nice restaurants. Great staff. We'll be there in a couple weeks, and again in March.

I'm not sure if there are options other than a cab to get to OSJ, but if you email them - info "at" laconcharesort "dot" com - they'll respond quickly.

I emailed them and they said bus b-21 goes right from outside the resort to osj. We will take it for a day trip out there and see if it's plausible to take our bags on the day of embarkation...

  2. Arrived 10/31 on Southwest around noon. No line at all for the taxis - but, yes, you still go to the stand and tell the person where you're going and how many bags. He then handed me the list of the zone fares with the price marked.

Airport to La Concha - $19 plus tip

La Concha to Carnival pier the next morning (no slip given, but the young man at the hotel stated what the fare would be) - $19 plus tip

We are staying at la concha...did u use the bus system at all into osj? I contacted the hotel and asked about it. Just wondering how that worked out...

  3. Is there another whip debarking the same day? Remember you need to get your luggage through the agricultural inspection and the line could get long. Allow enough time that your luggage needs to be checked in before 9:25 which is after that inspection. Barring no problems. And being first off with self embarkation you could make it

But way too much stress for me

Ya I will make sure that we are first off and if debarkation is between 7-8 for self assist...I'm hoping it's fine

  4. Little too late to be asking, don't you think?:o

Carnival's website lists 12:00pm as the earliest flight (some departures dates list the earliest flight at 1:00pm) . Make sure you're off as soon as possible and give yourself plenty of time for the USDA Inspection before proceeding to the airline's check in counter. There's a lot of construction going on at the San Juan airport right now, so many airlines have been displaced to other concourses temporarily. Expect to check in at one terminal and walk to a different concourse. Lines at the security checkpoints are usually insane on a weekend in San Juan, and they are worse now since they are funneling passengers through one security checkpoint instead of three. Good luck.

Yes it is...lol but the deal I got went back up hours later...may have been a mishap on the site or something cause now it is considerably more. We will have to be up and attem early so we make it

  5. Unfortunately changing the date isn't possible (although I wish we could have been more flexible about it!) I will try to call Carnival and get them to do this...I didn't know they could. Hopefully if it is seen they will respect it then.

I guess I worry too much...and although it wouldn't essentially ruin our vacation, it would certainly put a huge damper on it (especially if we ended up getting a balcony because my SO said absolutely not or he would get off the ship and refuse to sail (he thinks they are unsafe or something...couldn't even argue my point with him, he refuses to listen. Oh well, I didn't want a balcony that badly anyway)

And thank you, I appreciate it! (:

I was told that when I booked this room on the valor that it was hc and I may be bumped. Don't have to worry about that as they changed ships to the liberty and that ship doesn't have it. Very disappointed with the "upgrade" as we have a balcony now. Was going to be a surprise for my wife for our honeymoon.
