  1. I am 31 days from sailing and my bid was accepted.  From inside to obstructed deluxe balcony min bid allowed 210 CDN , my accepted bid was 235 CDN pp.  I only bid on this category of balcony because it was midship predominantly some were forward but worried about the motion.

No. The highest you'll be offered is all balcony types. No mini-suite or above.

Received the bid offer and only 4 categories of balconies were included.  Funny their website says all categories will be available.   I put in a bid slightly higher than the minimum.   Fingers crossed.

Just curious on the port transfer. I've searched high and low and can't find anything regarding an MSC transfer from the airport. Can you point in me in the right direction? I was planning to drive, but am now flying into LGA.

Edit: Actually was flying into JFK, but my flight was cancelled and this was the best replacement option.

The transfer shuttle with MSC is available from JFK airport. We booked thru the travel agent but you can call MSC directly to book.

I land at 710am. I'm a former travel agent. Feel free to contact me privately and I can meet up with them and I can buddy up with them.

That sounds great. Here is my email and I can give you their phone number.

  5. Regarding the transfer my parents flight lands at 830am. I hope a representative is there that early.  Their travel agent said they should go to a shuttle post but I disagree.  Their flight information was provided so I figure the MSC rep will be at their baggage claim area.  Just not sure how early the shuttles start.

  6. Just returned from a cruise on the pride.  During our 12 nights our balcony was cleaned 3 times and painted 1 day.  The port days are the only days this can be done and we were happy with the efforts to make it enjoyable to sit on the balcony.

You are great. I feel much better about our room assignment. I am getting mixed measurements about the balcony cabin size compared to an ocean view cabin. Keep up this post as it is very helpful.

  8. We just found out that we are in a wellness balcony cabin #13020 on MSC Seaside. I booked a fantastica ocean view cabin. Can you find the cabin on the outside of the ship? I want to see if I have a glass view and not a metal view.

I think this is not a fantastica preferred location as it is not mid ship.

    Thank you,

  9. 78 days out I was offered the bid from OV to either balcony or mini suite. I am on jade 11 day panama cruise. Minimum bids were 65cdn for balcony or 95cdn for mini suite. I bid 380 cdn for mini suite and didn't bid on the balcony. I would have gone lower bid but when I went to enter my bid the 380 was prepopulated. On the scale the 380 was between fair and good. After 8 days I decided to bid 100 cdn on a balcony. I also assessment 10 to my mini suite bid. My goal was to get something even though I had been completely happy with my OV.

After two weeks I got the mini suite for 390 Canadian.

There were 15 mini suites available and almost 20 balconies available when I put in my bid. My OV category was sold out. I don't know if that is relevant or if my bid was just high enough. After my bid was accepted the mini suites are sold out and 8 OV cabins were available.

  10. Bid the amount your comfortable with. Depends on how full the ship is. The more popular the week, the fewer mini suites will be available. It also depends on type of room you have, as inside rooms usually go last. If you have a balcony room NCL can turn around and use it if the have too many gtw sales. Many have gotten the upgrade for a very low bid. I bet the majority of the winning bids are what the slider starts. We picked our OV room in a good spot and my wife is afraid the upgrade would be far from the elevator. Lol, I want a balcony, but when we booked, was much more than we paid in the past on RCCL. Been doing a mock booking and see very few if any OVs left. They were booking at a good deal and got the same 2 free at sea perks as both the balcony and mini suite. You can still book a OV, but only at the GTY rate. Hoping NCL might take a lower bid to free up a few OVs, as they still have many balcony and mini suite still available. But most importantly, like the room we booked so will be happy with what happens either way. 5 weeks to go. Kind of fun tweking the bid from week to week. Now have it a little lower. Don't want to over bid and not be happy were we end up. Kind of like eBay in the old days. You don't want to get too much into it and wake up finding you went overboard. In price,Lol.......

Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app

We are going with the minimum bids as there are a lot of balconies and mini suites available as it gets closer I can change my bid. Like you pointed out there are several factors to consider. Plus I am happy with the cabin I have now so nothing to lose if my bid is not accepted.

  11. So I think I messed up....

First time doing the upgrade bid process which received in email, made a bid for minimum which was $750 confirmed, paid, checked availability on my cruise date and saw that that category had already sold out, then also noticed the $750 was per person! What a doofus!

I am going solo so it would be double that amount of course...duh..another $1500!!!! Eeeeek.

My question is, if that category has already sold out on my sailing, my bid would not be accepted anyway, right?

Am hoping this is the case as really don't want to pay that huge extra amount.... oh dear. Thoughts?

A sold out category now, does not mean sold out by the time of the cruise. Simply go back into the link and modify your bid down to an acceptable level. Modify the bid before NCL accepts it and you are locked into that bid.

  12. It is not clear what cruise line/ship this is for - your profile only shows Celebrity Summit for 2017. Is this a 4-day cruise, i.e., 4 X 95 = $380?

it is for the NCL Jade 11 night panama canal cruise. I did not see a slider, just the email showed $95 for the mini suite. When I went to the next step to enter my bid it pre-populated $380pp. I just reviewed my offer and it offered the slider and the $380 is in the beginning of good and end of fair on the scale. The top of the scale is $680. Can someone offer any strategies on what I should bid on the scale?

  13. We have booked cabin 10273 on the Epic for the Dec. 28, 2013 sailing. I'm very excited to try the Epic after this past year on Carnival Destiny. I do have a minor concern about the view downwards from the balcony. 10273 is near the aft on the starboard side, the first cabin in the part that juts outwards farther. I know the lifeboats impede the view from the balconies on deck 8, and am hoping that someone who has stayed in a similar location on deck 10 of the Epic can give me some feedback on what I can expect when I look down from my balcony.

    Thanks in advance.

We booked for the fall and I would love to see any cabin pictures you have

    thank you

    Karen

  14. thank you for that. one more thing is there only 1 chair in the room at the desk? I have seen so many pictures and in some there is a table with 2 chairs between the 2 windows.

I am traveling with a friend and we both cannot sit on one chair and it looks tight to separate the beds too. I am thinking of going with a standard oceanview room with a sofa and a desk chair.

  15. I just got off the phone with my PVP and she stated that both of the cabins on the glory have one twin with one bunk. all of the other conquest class ships have two twins that convet to a king. I booked it anyway. I'll stick my DW on the bunk. She gets up later then I do.

I want to know if there were 2 twin beds in 2462? Also if there is a sofa in the room?
