1. I'll add to this by saying that I wrote to RC and asked if the same (or similar) cocktails would be available, and whether or not prices are (or will be) relisted on the new menus... the response was very general and answered neither question. They simply said they had raised the gratuities from 15% to 18%, totally skipped the fact that they've raised the alcohol prices by what seems to be around 40% across the board, and sent me a .pdf of all alcohol that is available on the ship (which was simply a list of alcohol - not "drinks").

So, their response was of absolutely no help whatsoever. :(

Ugh. I would write them back and ask again.

Can you post that brand matrix for us please? Thank you.

  2. For those who don't have a drink package I for one would like to know the price before I order. Feel embarrassed to ask at that time. Surely I'm not the only one who would like to know. I don't like surprises!

While I always get a drink package, I can definitely understand this.

I can see the inconvenience of not having a price listed for sure.

  3. Don't be too fooled by the menus. They will still make all the old favorites, you just have to ask for them. At least that was the case on the Brilliance this past week.

Yes! And in my stuoidity, I can't find the photos anymore from Allure. Ugh. And I'm too old to remember he names. Hahaha

  4. We got moved into the early dining which at this point is still traditional dining but the hope is, from what I've gathered from speaking to Royal and my TA, is that traditional dining will become Classic 1 and Classic 2 based on early or late.

And that you will go to different venues every night with the same wait staff and at the same time. Your formal nights will be the nights you rotate into The Grand Dining Room. And of course there is always the specialty dining venues or suite only dining room of you are in that category of room.

i hope it ends up like that.

    That will be awesome.

  5. How does the waiter know what wine you are going to order when you don't know what you are going to eat until you read the menu??

Can the waiter tell me next week's lotto numbers too??!

I drink a martini before dinner (sometimes more than one. Haha). My husband drinks gin and tonic and my neighbor also drinks a martini.

Each night, all three of us had our pre-dinner cocktail waiting for us when we walked in. It was sensational service from start to finish even if some of the meals fell short of expectation.

Some of the dishes were absolutely wonderful though.

  6. Think if you were on holiday in Vegas instead of living there. You go to a different restaurant every night, possibly at different times because you're going to a show or whatever.

That's pretty much it, except you can book all your restaurants in advance if you wish......

    Thank you for that explanation.

It seems very similar to what I've heard Disney does.

I like the idea of rotating around different restaurants but I can see it meaning that my cruise planner needs to involve a well executed shcedule to make sure we have dinner when we want to.

I do, however, think I will miss the experience of having the same waitstaff every night. On the Allure in February, it was a spectacular experience in the MDR because our waitstaff knew us and knew what we wanted and didn't. We had a drink waiting there for us every night when we walked in.

  7.
I believe autocorrect is a little old man who looks like Albert Einstein and loves to makes us all look demented.
Yes!! I've always pictures autocorrect to look like that alien/man thing tearing the engines out of the plane in The Twilight movie, complete with that insane laugh. Hahaha
  8. Mine came from Chico's! They are very dressy and very stylish!

    Great minds.. Haha

I love Chicos. I love their dressier stuff. It's just so easy and elegant.

I pair the shorts with dressy blouses and jewels and usually a beaded sandals or my favorite pair of Kate Spade espadrille heeled sandals. :)

  9. I know the style you are talking about, and they are fine. I have some dress "City Shorts", that are knee length, very dressy and I wear them with a nice blouse and very dressy sandals. I also saw tons of ladies in capris. Dressier ones, not the athletic type ones.

Exactly the style I am speaking to!!

I am short and capris never hit me in the correct place plus I just don't feel sexy in them. I love my Chicos knee length dressy Bermudas and didn't think those with a very nice blouse and sandals was that bad of a choice for non-formal nights.

I look much better in those and feel better in them than I do most of my skirts which are actually shorter. Ha

    Thanks for your input.

I'll pack a couple sundress type things and if there is an issue, I can just go change. :)
