  1. For those of us who prefer aft-facing cabins, what are your tricks for finding them? Currently, when I find an itinerary that appeals to me, in a date/price range that works, on a line I prefer to travel on, then I look at the ship deck plans to see how they categorize cabins, then go through the booking process for each category that could include aft cabins, often searching by deck, and see what's available. It's not an efficient process.

Any tips/tricks to streamline this process?

  2. We’re in the same boat, no pun intended. Juneau arrival is also pushed back an hour, which puts our 3rd party whale watching excursion at risk. I called the operator and they said they had not been notified of a time change by Princess; they would allow us to change to a later tour, or potentially push back the departure as there would be multiple pax affected.

I don't want to whine, but tides are something they should have taken into account. This does not ruin my cruise by any means, but it is a pain in the butt that could have been avoided. Also, there was no communication of this from Princess, I only found out when logging in to print out baggage tags. Smart PR would be to stay on top of changes, especially this close to sailing.

For anyone wondering, even though the boat is leaving Vancouver late, you still need to be on board by the original time to comply with US customs. No one will be allowed to wander off the boat despite it being docked for an extra 8-9 hours.

  3. We were thinking of buying the Pamper Me Package for upcoming Alaska cruise. Includes a massage, day pass to enclave, sparkling wine and chocolate strawberries. Has anyone booked this before? It looks like you can pick a date for the package to be “delivered,” is that the same date you get the massage? Or should we book an appointment and then we turn in some kind of voucher?

    Thanks!

  4. Greetings, we’ll be in Juneau in September and were hoping to get a ride to Mendenhall Glacier. Is there a taxi stand at the pier? Would we need reservations or can we just walk up? There will be 4 other ships in town that day. We’ll probably want to head there after lunch, as we have an excursion planned for that morning but not sure when we’ll get back.

Also, I saw via Google from a TripAdvisor post in 2017 that Uber is not allowed to Mendenhall Glacier. Is that still the case?

Any/all info would be appreciated. Thanks!
