  1. Do I understand this correctly?

If I purchase with my cruiseline (NCL $40 more) I board at the pier and if I purchase directly with NPYR I board at their station location?

Is it your experience that those who purchase with their cruiseline fill up all the good seats and leaves the leftover seating for those who purchased directly with NPYR?

    TIA

    Debbie 🙂

NCL is not customer friendly! I just received my flight reservations for a cruise from Rome. We booked air and hotel through NCL for an early 3 day stay. I just received my flights this morning and we won't land in Rome until 535 PM losing a whole day. I called as soon as I received the air. They told me could not be modified because it has to be 75 days out which was 5 days ago, but I just received the notice this morning 70 days out. If I were sailing the same day They would get me to Rome at an early time!. I even offered to pay they said no!!! The air rep I spoke with agreed with me that it is not right! It falls within their parameter's that the flight arrive by 535 and hotel by 7. There is no way you can clear customs and get to the hotel by 7. NCL is losing a customer as of today. I can't even cancel without losing too much money and I looked to book my own air, but NCL will not refund all of my money so they got me. I will make the best of it but they have lost a loyal customer and I will never sail with them again, and I will encourage all of my friends and family not to sail with them!!!!! Not a happy person right now

    They Lie!

I was 76 days before cruise and wanted to fly in 1 day ahead, I called and spoke to 6 different agents over the next two days and got 6 different answers. First I was told I could, then I was told I couldn't since it was 76 days before my cruise, and then I was told I needed to book with their hotel for an additional $215 pp. Very long story short, none of the 6 agents could change my flight to fly in one day earlier and I was within the time frame. Very Frustrating!!!!

  3. Last night we had dinner at CHOPS and we were very disappointed.

Our Steaks were cooked as requested and the flavor was "right" but they were both tough and chewy!

Judith had the 6 Oz Filet

I had the 10 oz Filet with Bearnaise Sauce

We were so disappointed with the steaks that we are going to cancel our second reservation at Chops.

OMG! Judith's steak looks ridiculous, the fork is larger than her steak. and your steak looks like it's drowning in sauce.

Thank you for this review and all these pics. It's Awesome! You are making it feel like we are cruising right along with you. :)

  5. Day 2 Nassau 7am-2pm

    2015-09-06%2006.25.47.jpg

My wife, my daughter, and 3 others from our party did the dolphin encounter at the Blue Lagoon and the rest of us did the beach package at the Blue Lagoon. Ok first let me say that in my opinion Nassau is not the best stop Royal Caribbean can offer in fact I believe Labadee is much better. Atlantis is way too expensive for the amount of time that you get to stay and that's why we did not do that excursion. Ok the Blue Lagoon Beach Break was $75 per person which is $20 more then what you pay if you do it straight through blue lagoons website. You also get more for your money by doing it through their website. Now here's the catch the boat that takes you to the Blue Lagoon is docked at Crown Bay about a two minute walk from the Oasis. It is only for Royal Caribbean excursions. If you book the excursion through the Blue Lagoon website you have to get a taxi to the Paradise Island stop to get on the boat that takes you to the island. So make sure you factor that in if you plan on doing the excursion on your own. Now the island was beautiful it had everything we needed.

    2015-09-06%2010.25.38.jpg

They have Rentals and extras that you can rent. Plenty of shade hammocks chairs and the water is crystal clear and not very deep in the lagoon side.

I would recommend this excursion to anyone especially families. There was very little people there and it was very enjoyable and not crowded at all. I apologize for the lack of pics of this excursion but I took mostly video. Search blue lagoon nassau on youtube and you'll see everything you need to. After you've been on the island for awhile remember te ferry departs at 11:30am & 12:30pm to go back so don't miss them! We waited and didn't eat the lunch until right at noon. Ok, I'm going to take a break and continue Day 2 soon.

    Love Your Review

I want to book this excursion for my mom and myself. My mom can not walk, she is an amputee and has rheumatoid. How was it for you to board the ferry? Were there steps? Did you need to transfer? At Blue Lagoon were you able to get your wheelchair close to the water?

RCCL excursion website says "For guests who use collapsible wheelchairs or scooters. Guests must transfer from their wheelchair or scooter to board the motorcoach, usually 2 or 3 steps. Guests should be self-sufficient. If assistance is required, guests should travel with a companion.

I wrote to Blue Lagoon and they said," The majority of the island is wheelchair accessible. We have walkways that lead to the beach, through the island and of course docks near the animals. She will certainly be able to enjoy the island. Our ferries that take you over to blue lagoon are also large and wheelchair friendly. When booking, please let them know that you will have a wheelchair so that they can be best prepared for your arrival."

    Thank You and Happy Sailing,

    Debbie

  6. The reason you won't find information on CC regarding this rental company is that they are not approved to deliver the scooter or other rental equipment directly on board the ship to your cabin and pick up the scooter directly from your cabin. . Only the approved vendors for the cruise line you're traveling on are approved to do this. NCL only allows http://www.SpecialNeedsatSea.com. Most all other cruise lines allow both http://www.SpecialNeedsatSea.com and http://www.CareVacations.com.

If you choose to use Family Rentals and Guest Services you will have to make arrangements and be present on embarkation day to receive the scooter as well as wait with the scooter on debarkation day until the company comes to pick up the scooter directly outside the port. No one from the port nor the cruise line will accept receipt of the scooter (or any other equipment rented from this company) or wait with the scooter for it to be picked up. You're own your own in making certain it's been delivered and picked. Though the rental cost is probably cheaper it far more of a hassle.

Thanks that explains why I haven't heard about them.

    Thanks again,

    Debbie

  8. Now that is so true. That's exactly what family and friends say. One of these days, I'll get invited somewhere, show up at the designated place (restaurant, hotel, ect.) and it will be one of those intervention type things that you see on reality TV.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I also hear, "It Must be Nice". :D

There should be a Twelve Step program for people like us ! For me just this year alone, I sailed Nieuw Amsterdam in Feb. , MSC Divina in Apr. , Carnival Splendor in Jun. , and last week sailed aboard the Crown Princess. I thank my lucky stars that I have the opportunity to do so.

My support group to help me with my addiction is right here (cruise critic). LOL p.s. you are so right I'm thankful I have the opportunity to do so too.

    Rebel - Lynn,

I don't know where you can buy this shirts, a friend of my just posted this pic on my fb. I want one too...

    Happy Sailing,

  9. We have used the pool lifts on several Princess ships and never once have we been required or even allowed to operate the lifts. In fact, I don't know how an individual could operate the lift and ride in the same lift. Princess access does not know what they are talking about. The pool stewards have a couple of people trained on this and you should seek them out and more or less make an appointment with them about when you will come back and use the lift in order to insure they are available when you want to use them. BTW, my experience is Guest Services knows nothing about this, so you probably don't want to waste your time with them. Just seek out the pool stewards/supervisor around the Neptune pool.

Also, regardless of what the weather is like or the ocean conditions, Princess won't let you on a tender unless you can walk on yourself. So if you can't walk onto a tender, Princess will not let you go to Princess Cays. So the statement about access to Princess Cay is actually not even true as it implies that you might be able to go onto a tender as a full time wheelchair user when Princess knows that it is against their policy to assist you onto the tender or even allow someone else to carry you onto the tender. So if your ship stops at Princess Cays, this might be a good day to use the wheelchair lift for the pool/hot tub as it won't be that crowded on the ship that day.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My mother is not mobile and I know she will not be able to tender at Princess Cays. I'm hoping on that day, we will have to pool to ourselves.

    Happy Sailing,

    Debbie

  10. I emailed accessoffice@princesscruises.com see their reply below.

    Good Day, Debbie,

Thank you for your email. Yes, the Caribbean Princess is equipped with pool lifts at the Neptune's Pool and Starboard Neptune's Jacuzzi. Please see the pursers desk onboard to advise them that you would like to use the pool lift and they will give you a brief orientation on how to operate the equipment. Our crew members are not permitted to operate the equipment for you, so the assistance of a companion will be necessary.

I also see that your booking indicates that you will be traveling with a wheelchair for full-time use. Please see the below information which outlines our policy and procedures for traveling with a mobility device.

All personal mobility aids must be securely stored in your stateroom. Mobility equipment will not be permitted to be stored/recharged in hallways or elevator lobbies on board any Princess ship. Princess Cruises will not be responsible for the storage of personal mobility equipment. Failure to safely and properly store personal mobility equipment in staterooms may result in the denial of boarding. All device batteries must be gel or dry cell only.

Just a friendly reminder that Princess Cays is a tender port where wheelchair access cannot be guaranteed.

Please just let me know if you have any questions or concerns. We are always happy to help!

    Thank you,

  11. Suggest you contact the Princess Access office at 661-284-4521. RCCL is the only cruise line that I'm aware of that has 1 pool chair lift and 1 hot tub chair lift fleet wide.

I took your advice and I called. I called 3 times and only get a recording that they are busy helping someone else and call back between 8 am and 5 pm. They also said that they don't accept voice mail. It's strange because I am calling in between those hours (I just called and it's 4:27 pm). ??

Thank you everyone who replied to my question, I truly appreciate it.

    Happy Sailing,

    Debbie

  12. Just off the cruise & yes some needed repairs. The carpeting in the main areas have been replaced, not the cabins. In the cabins new curtains not drapes, & most important NEW LINENS & PILLOWS on the beds that felt luxurious compared to the old. Flat tv but not the same programming as on the Royal. In the bath a new showerhead, new robes that actually fit, & the shampoo & wash fixture affixed to the wall at your back. The mattresses were changed last year.

The food in the dining room was in my estimation the best prepared & served & all portions served hot & to your specs. Service was outstanding. All that said now I don`t like to complain but I am stating this because maybe mgmt. might correct it. On embarkation we walked right in & a short line at counter & wow the line all the back & snaked all the way with the obvious problem being only 2 persons to check card & take your picture. Then the continuing delays for lifeboat drill till 5pm & yes the delay was blamed on the weather, not having enough staff. Then to top it all as we were 8 & doing the weekend to party going to the skywalker lounge with hardly any staff or food. I only observed 2 waiters & 2 bartenders with a overcrowded lounge. Use your imaginations, & food did finally come out a hour later.AGAIN, I only say this for managements benefits to correct.

    Music to my ears.

    Thanks,

    Debbie

    :)
