  1. Somebody posted on another thread that they're at the airport and it looks like 70% to 80% of the flights are cancelled.

Nearly all flights were cancelled we checked with all airlines and no airline had two seats available,,, rang Royal twice to check the departure time of harmony and both times the girls were checking for 5/6 minutes and when I said we got the email to say boarding was at 5 and I was just wondering what times departure they couldn't be sure what time departure was and told me to be at the port between 12-30 and 3 to be safe 😁 Delta really tries hard to get us on flights but it just didn't happen

  2. There is nothing, even on the RCI website, at this stage to answer that question. You will probably be aware the captain on board has announced a noon arrival today if the authorities allow entry to port. So, it will be 1pm, at earliest, before disembark can commence and therefore 5pm embarkation for new passengers sounds tight to me. Anyway, almost certainly the ship will only be half full and there will be some B2B'ers remaining on board, so the ship will take time to board new passengers.

Given the above, my guess (and it is only a guess) is it would not be possible to fully embark and sail any earlier than 9pm and they may make it later to give time for stragglers. Make early contact today with the ship, or RCI office, and keep them fully briefed re your travel arrangements and expected arrival. They are in no way obligated to wait for late self flight passengers but, given all the circumstances around this cruise, I believe they will be more accommodating.

    Good luck!

That's great advice, thank you! And yes hopefully it's later tonight the departure time !

  3. Another thought, a plan B...which may be impossible/unattractive to you. Anthem of the Seas sails from the New Jersey port, across the river from NYC, on thursday for a 9 night Canada/NE cruise. She is a fantastic ship, like Harmony and only a couple of years old!

I have no idea what your employment and holiday situation is, but I am a director within a public sector organisation in Scotland. If ANY employee of mine, especially for a honeymoon, had encountered what you have in the past week I would without question sanction additional leave to have them enjoy their long awaited vacation. Maybe something to consider, and get on the blower if you cannot get to Miami.

Again, good luck...I feel your pain.

Yeah we were already on anthem in the past and really liked the ship but it's not possible to travel next week and we were already meant to do b2b cruises for our honeymoon but we had to cancel the second week due to my father in law going into hospital this coming Monday(he cancelled hospital for our wedding) so I don't think we could let him cancel again ;)but thanks for the advice. And if worse comes to the worse and we don't make it on board today we are going to go on harmony in October. Thanks for the advice though. imagepng

  4. My advice would be go to the airport, and try the major line flight desks....look sad, and play heavily the honeymoon card, you might just find a sympathetic officer....good luck! Assuming it is the Harmony, boarding does not commence until 5pm so you do have some leeway there. Whilst well intentioned, I would decline any advice to fly to any other Florida airport and rent a car, the highways will be blocked solid with evacuation returnees!

Just noticed it is Harmony, hence edit!

Yes I think we will have to do this, thanks for the advice

  5. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated,, does anyone know of any flights from jfk to Fort Lauderdale or Miami for tomorrow(Tuesday) morning,, this is our last nights accommodation in nyc and if we can't get a flight tomorrow we will have to cancel our honeymoon and fly back to Ireland,, we have rang several airlines and some of them left automated messages to say they are too busy and to call back later,, thanks in advance for any advice

  6. Our airline (aer lingus) let us change our flight (outbound) free of charge to New York and if our cruise is cancelled they will allow us to change our return while we are in New York,, but we really hope the harmony sails on Tuesday as we can book our next cruise on board as it will work out cheaper doing it that way rather than getting a refund and then having to book it in our local travel agents in Dublin who then will charge us there fee's and commission and we really can't wait to sail on harmony even if it's only for 4 days this time.

If hypothetically harmony docked in Fort Lauderdale Sunday or Monday would they sail back out the same day it would they still wait to Tuesday ???

  7. Do not fly to Miami!! Have you seen the latest hurricane advisory? Miami is likely to be evacuating soon.

Miami is likely to be evacuating soon.

we are due to fly to Fort Lauderdale but think we are going to fly to New York instead spend a few days there, then fly jfk to Fort Lauderdale Monday,, what do you think of the chances of harmonys Tuesdays departure changing?

  8. Hi all,,, so im just double checking the "50% onboard credit" can be spent on booking a future cruise on board as we were planning on booking harmony for October while on the 8/9 sailing anyway. ???

This is our 9th cruise, buts it's a bit special as its our honeymoon cruise so thanks hurricane irma for the inconvenience especially as we are flying from Dublin but once all the islanders and people of Florida are safe and sound after the hurricane that's the main thing 🙏🙏

  9. If it's that much cheaper than other options I suppose I would keep the reservation. I just didn't want you to be shocked by its location when you finally get there. The hotel itself was renovated not long ago and is likely OK, it's just you're going to be stuck there as there's nothing in the immediate area. I would have definitely recommended cancelling if you were planning to park a car there for the duration of your cruise as the area is a bit sketchy.

One of the reasons I mentioned the Country Inn and Suites is that there are a couple of chain restaurants within walking distance as well as an outlet mall. There are a couple of other hotels in that complex as well.[/

we are going to cancel our booking and go with you, that's why this site is so useful with people like you giving good advice many thanks we are grateful
