  1. Snorkel at Mahogany Bay, off of the dock go out and left. I was there at Christmas, took a cab ride to West End and West Bay, the water was really rough and murky and it started pouring, hopped back in the cab and went back to Mahogany Bay - sunshine, calm, reef and fish :)

  2. mitsugyrly, the most expensive thing on the menu is $13 escovitched fish, it is really good. Jamaican patties are about $2. The reef has lots of hard coral. Lots of varieties, elk, brain... For $10 the lifeguards will take you outside of the buoy line. Remember to go to the pork pit on the way back. My brother is going there next week, i will try and get him to send a photo of the menu.

  3. The price is I think $4 a person. They will drop you at Doctors Cave. The food is good at the restaurant, swimming and snorkelling is good. Mitsugirly, I saw you like to snorkel, go along the left jetty and out along the buoy line. I suggest that on your way you ask the cabbie to point out Pork Pit, then when you are done at DC you either walk to or cab to Pork Pit and get some jerk (Jamaican Barbecue). I grew up about a mile from DC. I posted a pic on another thread here it is in case you missed it.

  4. Be polite to people offering to sell you stuff, snorkel at Doctors Cave by the buoy line, the food is great at Pork Pit (try as many of the items as you can), have fun. Here is a picture looking towards Cornwall Beach from Doctors cave.

  5. So we are back to freezing temperatures, ugh! We live right by the lake, here are a few shots from our house. The first is after an ice storm

I grew up in Jamaica, I love the ocean and can't wait till I am on the ocean again, wether on a cruise or snorkelling over a reef. Thanks for following along. May your next cruise be your best ever. One last pic - Doctors Cave, where I learned to swim.

  6. Contrary to what happened on earlier cruises, the debarking was totally smooth. We sat on the Lido deck, played ping pong and waited for our zone to be called. We were getting a cab about 10 minutes after the announcement. We stayed at the Marriott Westshore for one night to avoid the stress of making a flight.

  7. The pool water is salt. Btw, there is a jacuzzi by the gym that looks like it's for people who are getting spa treatments, it's not and it's hardly used. Carnival needs to turn up the temperature in their jacuzzis. The gym is great, I was in there at least once a day. One morning I decided to do the stretch and abs class, it starts at 7 am. The abs class was intermediate, yikes! It was a killer, probably 1,000 crunches lots of variety.
