  1. I messaged on FB this week for our cruise leaving Sun. i received a reply to repost tomorrow. So it is being monitored and seen.

However, he's going to be taking this week off and when you repost tomorrow, KAN may not relay your message to him as they don't work for Carnival. They're simply part of KAN.

  2. No this wasn't a photo shop application. It was a specific camera. features were built into the camera. The poster had similar shots and subjects using the different features of the camera. Everything was built in.

I know it's not Photoshop you're looking for, but every single thing you mentioned can be achieved very quickly through Photoshop.

  3. I could not agree more. This 'disappointment' has nothing to do with Carnival, and everything to do with Cruisecritic. All Carnival did was request media time using standard methods. This was picked up here and the speculation began! What could they possibly want to tell us? China? Ship movements? Vista?

Note that the general population (that are not on Cruise Critic regularly) would know nothing about this before the announcement. It is just some of us that got our expectations out of whack.

Not me. My expectations were not "out of whack." I have grown perfectly accustomed to Carnival's announcements, including announcements that are announcements that simply announce a date they will announce their announcement. Nearly all of their announcements are disappointing and below expectations. In my opinion, Carnival is no longer an industry leader in innovation. Innovation is nonexistent throughout Carnival Corporation.

  4. Maybe next time people will think twice about announcement date and Catnival. They always seem to be a bust.

And then make them when an actual announcement is made. It will certainly cut down the speculation, which usually shoots so far higher than anything Carnival actually does.

But we still have 13 hours to go for this one.

I bet it will be brilliant.

  5. My understanding is that you would not be able to board with your father as you are not in the cabin with him. As previously mentioned, the loophole was closed because many people were telling others to put Mary, Johnny, Sue, Tony, etc etc etc on your card and when you got onboard to go to guest services and they will set you up for your own account.

It wasted too much time for the guest service personnel and others who had "real" reasons to be there were complaining about wait times. Your S&S card won't be in the same place as your father's. In all reality, if you get to the port early or late (not just when everyone is boarding) you probably will both get on the ship about the same time.

The Platinum benefits your father has earned will not be shared with you. He will get priority tendering, but unfortunately you won't. Now, I won't say someone won't cut you a break perhaps, but don't count on it because too many others have abused some of the privileges and like most things, they have ruined it for others.

Misinformation! Katie, each Platinum can take 5 others with them on the tender.

  6. No. I was responding to the poster who says they take an elevator to deck zero. NOW they just flash their platinum card indicating they did not before. So before they earned or paid for the perk, they were a line cutter and that's rude.

Logistically, I don't consider it cutting as I think of Deck Zero's elevator lobby being the merge point for those who use the stairs and elevators.

What do you think of guests with a disability who are unable to do stairs?

  7. Really, 2012? We have been on three cruises since then and always had plenty of ice in the stateroom. Never had to ask for it.

    Bryce Kautz asks:

I had heard that Carnival employees will pamper you but that was not the case on the Carnival Pride. We are just off the Pride and asked at dinner to our waiter, Sunny, for plates of fries with melted cheese and chili. He told us “NO” and walked away. This upset us so we complained and wrote a letter to the captain and it was not until three days before the end of the cruise that we got what we wanted. We also had to beg for ice in the cabins. PUT ICE BUCKETS IN THERE like basic motels do. This was not the service we expected.

    John says:

    Hello Bryce Kautz

I do hope that, apart from these two concerns, you had a wonderful time. Let me mention the ice first. We used to put ice in the cabins but so much went unused, that it became an immense waste of water. Now we just put ice in the cabins upon request and all you have to do is ask and the stateroom steward will comply without question. We also try and help with special food orders although they are not always possible. You can imagine if we took special orders from 2,000 guests, the galley simply could not cope. I am glad that we could help you eventually and I am sure you appreciated that they did. I do also hope you had fun and that we see you soon. Best wishes.

    John

  8. I'm fine using tap water, so I'll bring a reuseable container for it, but do they have ice readily available? Do I just ask at a bar or do they have machines somewhere like on a Disney Cruise?

Carnival no longer provides ice in the stateroom by default. Instead, you need to specifically ask your stateroom steward to provide you with ice or call room service for a moderately larger bucket of ice.
