  1. Last year on the Oasis, I noticed the drinks being weak. I don't drink very often, maybe once a year at that. We sprung for the Deluxe for each of use and for the first 3 days I tried all sorts of drinks. I figured why not I am not driving anywhere. Never once did I even get a buzz. The only time I did feel something is when we went to the champagne bar. After 2 glasses of that boy did I feel it. And that was after drinking all day. My husband said the same thing. Mixed drinks never felt any different. Only until he was drinking beer did he feel any effects.

I think they are doing something. So I would agree based on my experience.

Exactly what we did. It was the bottle of wine at dinner that we really noticed it. "Hey the wine has more kick than the vodka tonics"

  2. They are stingy with extra shots on the package... Drink top shelf Vodka, so that should be something... On the "AA" comment, if you think anyone who drinks needs AA, then perhaps you shouldn't read a post about watered down booze... The comment about never being on an empty stomach on a cruise, true that! :)

  3. Just took an RCL cruise on Serenade. Boston Departure up the coast. Bought the drink package. Felt the mixed drinks had little alcohol in them. Watched them pour, even unseal new bottles, but the drinks didn't kick. Two Martini's usually make my wife a bit tippy. Nope. I had enough a few nights to put me out but nope. Just very weak drinks. Very disappointed that we didn't get our money's worth.

If I was drinking beer, things would be better alcohol wise, and the wines were fine.

  4. Agreed on the big shucko plugs and the French version, but Most people just bring two-prong plugs anyway, so whether it be a US Plug or a Euro-plug they are ideal. The universal outlet is evolving. There are some that are more electrically sound and would make more sense, like these. It really is too bad we have so many variations in the world. In the Two prong variety, The US/Japan/Taiwan plug is the most electrically sound since there is little variation in the blade thickness and gets the most contact area, but the standard Europlug is the safest for kids.

  5. Hopefully some others members who have sailed recently will write about the ship's condition.

Just sailed her last week (Bos-Halifax) for the second time in 5 years.

The Theatre could use new seating. Getting a bit threadbare.

Lots of little things are needing attention, like missing trim, several of the lighting machines in the centrum are missing, blown speaker making noise, lots of the usual dents and dings in the surfaces in the dining room, lots of little rust spots...

Overall, the ship is in pretty good condition, the bed was very comfortable (9062) but the couch was needing refurb, and the ship didn't smell as fresh as it could have.

We prefer the Radiance class ships, but they seem to be getting less TLC than the monster ships.
