HI! I will be on this cruise toooo!  There are other families with kiddos on the Facebook group for this sailing, just sayin if you want to maybe meet some other kiddos too since they do not have the kids club.

J&J is one dose. So one dose "completes the full cycle of the required doses for the vaccines adminstered."

 

It also says:

"Vaccinated cruises are available for guests who have received their final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the sailing day and have proof of vaccination."

 

There is no wording about 2 doses. It says final dose. J&J is a one dose vaccine so the final dose is the one dose.

It mentions 2 doses many times, so yes it is unclear if you are standing in those shoes. It would definitely be helpful if they either attached the link to the CDC which I found or made it more clear statin 1 shot vaccines are cleared.  Apparently people were using the J&J as the second dose for others and that is the only place they were listed.

That is exactly what I was running into also.  We cruise next month also, 19 days, so if he needed a second we have time... for like 5 days.  I did find the CDC website and will attach it here for you, we are going to print it out and bring to port with us.

Yeah I found this and it is not 100% clear either.  So I went to the CDC website and per then the J&J is still just one shot so guessing? that is still the case.  Was hoping to see if anyone here had any direct experience.

So I have 2 Moderna's starting in January, but my husband has the 1 shot J&J.  Anyone know if they are requiring boosters for the J&J even though it was said to be a single vaccine?  I would hate to get there and me be good and not him.

I did have one, but I booked this at like 2am in the middle of the night without him.  Doubt he could help me now.  Oh well I am just hoping that Casino rooms can be included in the upgrade fairy calls, they have a lot of suites available, and we are 2 people in a 4 person room - which I am surprised I got it in the first place as I looked up for 4 people and there are only a couple available and none in our level. If not it is a very good room just would be cool to try a suite out.

So we booked an extended Balcony on Floor 8 of the Magic for the Nov. 9 sailing. There are Suites available so I called in to see if we could upgrade and I would pay the price difference and they actually said no?  Said I would have to cancel and rebook meaning loose what I already paid.  So does that mean there is no way to upgrade to the suite or Aft?

I am a momma to a vaccinated 14 yr old and not vaccinated 9 yr old.  Both of them are not cruising with us because it will not be enjoyable for them at this time.  The restrictions are just too abundant, I will say they LOVED cancun in July but we did a land trip.

Things we liked:

 

This was our first Carnival cruise and we were flabbergasted at how easy embarkation was! We did get there early around 10:30 so we could get on and watch the game though, so that may be part of why it went so smooth. I think we waited no more than 15 minutes. Also, this was the first time we have driven To port, so no stress there either. We were surprised there was only 2 places to watch the game but we had no problem bellying upmto the Lido bar. Pats won, by the way! 

 

I really liked the staff, Michelle and Francisco were great! I couldn’t tell you what the CD’s on NCL looked like or their names, but on Carnival they are really fun. I would say the Fun Ship lives up to its name.  It was the little things like bingo, on NCL it was just bingo, but on Carnival they tried to make it more fun.

 

We also had a blast playing Name That tune trivia. DJ Mikey who ran it made is so much fun. The casino seems to be a little looser than on RCCL or NCL, so that’s always good. We kept running into Jue a Korean girl who worked at the casino and she was so nice and got so happy each time we would win. She truly seemed to love  her job. You don’t find that on  NCL.

 

The last stand out thing that we really loved was the Piano Bar with Kathryn Krull. She was such a blast we ended up there 3 out of 4 nights of our trip. She had an amazing voice and really got the crowd roaring.

 

Things that were meh:

Food was all ok, nothing that stood out as great or bad. The dining rooms were fine, even without a table cloth. We had your time dining which worked out ok for us.

 

i don’t know if it was because of the bad weather or not, but you would have needed a shoe horn to get another person into the hot tubs at Serenity.

 

We missed Catalina due to weather, which is no surprise, In 5 cruises I’ve never been lucky enough to actually make a tender port. We did make Ensenada, holy moly this is by far the WORST port I have ever visited. It was cool and rainy so if there were nice beaches or something we didn’t get to see them. 

 

Decor or on this ship is very old and ugly, but I do have to say I loved all the window seats. Since it was crappy weather we went to the shop to buy cards and they had all our, so they tracked some down for us elsewhere on the ship. Those window seats with tables were great for card playing and people watching.

 

This was our first time without a balcony and it didn’t kill me. I think the fact that it was cool and rainy helped with that. 

 

Overall the trip was great and exceeded my expectations. I had heard such negativity around this cruise and Carnival in general that I was really happy it was so much fun.

We will book this again sometime! 

Did you have FTTF?  If not, what time was your check in window?  We have FTTF right now but I might cancel it depending on your experience:D

I will also be there this month, which cruise are you on?  We leave the 21st.  Did you find an excursion.. i am in a toss up between the Taco tour, and the ATV with Hot spring tour.

So, anyone else going on this short weekend getaway?

Awe I missed a call from this number 2 weeks ago. Do they leave messages or do you have to answer, I just never answer.

I do not think so because it was after I did my check in and print out all the luggage tags and tape them etc did I get the call...

I got the call yesterday to switch from my interior to a Junior Suite for 180, I passed though because I am traveling with 2 youngins and I doubt it will be worth the 180 :( I hope I get the call next time I travel without kids!!!!

I sail Friday.

So i am going on a cruise on Friday until Monday morning. Well we board Fri and disembark Mon 8am. If i purchase on Saturday will it be cheaper then if i purchase on Friday?? What is the total for 1 adult in the state room?? Debating on how im going to drink;)

It is the Inspiration. I'm thinking I'm going to put the fifty toward something else.. I like staying on till after nine anyways:)

To put it differently... How long after the FTTF and others board does it take to start general boarding?

I had FTTF on my last cruise and was happy to be on fast... We won't be arriving to the long beach port I till noon anyways and last time that's when we were boarding so if I have to wait an hour that's worth it to cancel my FTTF for this one since there is no tenders.... What is ur thoughts?
