  1. Hello cruisers, I was on the Carnival Miracle recently and thought I'd share some information regarding electric outlets in the cabin.  We had a balcony cabin (category 8C) and the cabin only had one (1) U.S. style style 120volt electric outlet and one (1) Euro/German 220volt outlet on the desk/vanity area (see pic #1)   The Euro/German outlet is actually a universal type outlet and can accept a U.S. two prong non-polarized (both prongs same width) plug such as a phone charger (see pics #2, #3, #4).  Most modern electronic devices such as phone chargers, camera battery chargers, etc. are dual voltage (110 to 220 volts) but be sure to check your device before using the Euro/German outlet.  This info is listed on the plug or charging block.

You can also bring a simple 1 to 3 outlet adapter to allow you to power 3 devices at the same time (see pic #5). This is about $3 at a hardware store. You can also bring a non surge protected outlet strip/extender but they are kind of bulky.

There is another universal type outlet in the bathroom located on the upper right area of the bathroom while looking toward the mirror.  This outlet is labeled for "shavers only" and shows voltage of 115 to 230 volts.  I'm thinking this outlet only provides low power.  I was able to plug in my U.S. phone charger into this outlet and confirmed my phone was charging so this is another option for charging devices in this cabin (see pic #6, #7, #8).

I've seen many questions about electric outlets so I hope this information is helpful for upcoming Carnival Miracle cruisers 🙂 . Newer ships such as Carnival Panorama have two U.S. electric outlets and two USB outlets on the desk area so charging options are more plentiful.

  2. Hi all, my October 2020 cruise was recently cancelled :(  After much consideration I decided to request a full refund.  After I completed my online refund request a new screen came up which said "We received your submission. Please allow time for processing. Thank you for your patience and understanding".  Then within 5 minutes I also received an email confirmation from Carnival titled "Online Submission received"  with the following text "Thank for you making your online selection. This email acknowledgment confirms that your request has been submitted.....".  I read a previous post where someone said they did not receive any sort of confirmation from Carnival so thought it would be helpful to post my recent experience.  I am hoping to receive my full refund within a couple weeks. I look forward to cruising again soon hopefully in 2021.

  3. Yes, the 3 outlet tap inserted into the 110 volt US outlet would block access to the 220 volt Euro outlet. I was just pointing out that using a 3 outlet tap will increase your outlet usage from one to three. In the event someone forgot to pack their 3 outlet tap etc they could use the 110 volt US outlet AND the 220 volt Euro outlet at the same time thus increasing their outlet usage from one to two devices :) Just be sure the device plugged into the 220 volt Euro outlet is multi voltage.

  4. Hello cruisers, I just returned from a 7 day cruise on the Carnival Miracle and wanted to share some information regarding electric outlets in the cabin. There is only 1 outlet in the cabin located above the dresser. The outlet has one Euro style 220 volt outlet and one US style 120 volt outlet (see picture 1). If you need more outlets for your electronics you can bring a simple 3 outlet tap (see picture 2). I got this outlet tap from home improvement store for about $3. You could bring an outlet strip or extension cord as well. Outlet taps and outlet strips must be non surge protected per Carnival rules.. There is one more electric outlet in the bathroom but it is marked for shavers only.

Also, in case you forget an outlet tap etc. and need one more outlet you can use the Euro 220 volt outlet provided your electronic device is multi voltage (ex.100 to to 240 volt - 50/60Hz). Most cell phone chargers, ebook chargers, laptops, are multi voltage compatible but check your device's charger to confirm. I have read some posts that say you need a Euro to US outlet adapter to use the Euro outlet, this is not the case with the particular outlet on the Miracle. If you look closely at the Euro 220 volt outlet it actually has a US style two prong plug slot vertically within the outlet. It is located directly beneath the "USA-2P" lettering within the outlet (see picture 1). Just turn your US style 2 prong plug vertical and you can then insert your US plug into the Euro style outlet. I tested this with my US style phone charger and it worked fine. Again, just confirm your device is multi voltage compatible. C:\Eric desktop PC backup 05 10 16\Eric folder 051016\My Documents
