  1. It was great fun following you and Carol on your trip! We did Ruby over New Years so it was great to see everything again!!

Since DH and I are Guinness lovers I so enjoyed your bar/drink comments! Jennifer was great! We often had Caribbean Guinness.... it has a shot of dark rum in it... try it on your next trip!

THANK YOU for a wonderful tale! Looking forward to the next posts... Ft Lauderdale is one our favorite places!

We will try the rum in the Guinness on our next cruise.

And Norris, thanks again for this great thread!

    Peace, Anna:)

  2. I truly intended to keep this a daily log, but the slowness of the Ruby Internet finally got to me. Tried the day before for 60 minutes to get on the board, webpages expired, were never able to - can't even log into my own or work email. Writing this in front of clothing store in the duty free terminal having paid $3 for all day fast internet - go figure!! Using my iPad - not going To be able to write the report I want to -

But here is what I will do: I will keep my log current of the beverages consumed and post a per day summary once stationary with a workable Internet. I did have a slow day Thursday, barely making the $50 - but today looks better!

So bear with me - I have not forgotten my "obligation" and feel free to partition Princess to increase their broadband capacity as more and more people get wired with pictures and what not - because basically having no internet on board is ridiculous which the long lines every day in front of the Internet coffee attest to.

    Cheers!!!

He did post that he would write once he got to reliable internet.

  3. The 22nd Street Landing is a pretty good seafood place right around the Marina a little ways from the Doubletree...but most of the other restaurants in San Pedro are a good mile and a half to two miles walk...Walkable for some, a little far for others...The hotel will shuttle you to most of them...Or, if you are going during the hours the trolley is running, you can use that to get from a stop near the 22nd Street Landing northward--but that only runs Saturdays, Sundays and days ships are in port until 6 pm...

Thank you for the quick reply. So basically there isn't anything around the hotel. We enjoy seafood so shouldn't be a problem. It is only for one night.

    Thanks:)

  4. We are booked at the Double Tree pre cruise. Booking a car service to get us from the Lax to the hotel in San Pedro. Have read and received a lot of info from this thread. For those of you who stayed at the DT, where did you eat or shop around the hotel or did you have to take a cab or the shuttle?

    Thank you,

    Anna:)
