  1. Guess I don't understand the interest in the specific branded version of this game. Don't they all operate under the same premise? I mean, other than graphics, not sure what the deal is......

This is actually an old post that someone recently commented on but to answer your question some machines are better than others due to how they are set up such as some machines have holes on the sides that the stuff you push forward falls into before you get it. This particular version does not. I have my own personal reasons for liking this particular machine but to most it is just another coin pusher.

  2. Well, now that OP has gone and told us all about the Las Vegas version of that particular sucker game, I'm sure we'll all be in line to use it. After all, if anyone is silly enough to let the word out about a sure thing like that machine, he/she cannot be so intelligent that it can be so very hard to figure out.

Not sure what I told others than this is the machine I like best and unless you play it you probably wouldn’t understand there is a difference between the different coin pushers. Some have holes on the sides where everything you push along the sides fall into the machine for example. Never said it is a sure thing. Actually it is one of the most profitable machines in the casino on certain ships cause most people don’t win a thing on it. I have my preferences for my own reasons and others really enjoy this game also.

  3. The ncl getaway has one machine. The new NCL bliss has at least one but waiting to hear if it is one or two. These are the only ncl ones I k ow have this particular machine however I heard they may replace some of the other types of machines with this one but that isn’t for sure. The new royal carribean harmony of the seas has one but set up differently. Carnival vista has one but not sure of the set up there. A few other carnival ships have them but I forget which ones. That’s what I know.

  4. So maybe i can help a bit. I often put holds on cabins and often book last minute and up until around Jan 1 you used to have a hold for the rest of the day. Since then it is only 2 hours for cruises that are in the near future. I hate that they did that. But they should change that message because it surely is no longer correct. So unless you looked for it you likely didn't notice the time stated two hour hold and that is why the cabin was gone. I found out the hard way also.

Either numerous responders did not read fully or I didn't express myself clearly.

-I made my reservation more than 16 days prior to sailing (more than the 12 mentioned in the policy).

-NCL said that they would hold my reservation until the end of the day.

-I returned in about 12 hours on the same day.

-Reservation was completely gone, though retrievable when given the number. Even the NCL rep couldn't figure out what happened to it (and didn't seem to care, either...just wanted to pass me off to a sales rep to book some other random trip without my friends).

Still scratching my head and now trying to figure out where to turn my loyalty. The lack of customer support/service was astounding. It tells me what platinum status is really worth to NCL.

  5. :)So you should really look cause that also doesn't seem right. If when you booked the cruise you went on (the one you bought the deposits on) in Canadian dollars then your deposits will show on your account in Canadian dollars. When you apply them on your next booking assuming you book in Canadian dollars it will be deducted in the Canadian dollar amount as shown in your account so it would not be $250 Canadian, it would be $345 Canadian (half of the $690). If you book your cruise in American dollars then it would be $250 American that is deducted. Usually you have to call and have them switched to US dollars before they can be used on an American dollar booking. You will always get the full value of whatever you paid at the time regardless if the dollar changes. I hope that makes sense. You should log into ncl and scroll down and it should show your deposits and the amount they are worth. If it says $250 then that is american. If it says $345 then it is in Canadian dollars. Just depends how you booked the original cruise.

  6. So I buy them all the time as I cruise often. When you only buy one they are $250 USD and you get $100 OBC. When you buy two as you did, you pay $500 USD and you get $250 OBC. The way it shows on your ncl bill is weird so that may be the confusion. It is split into two OBC entries on your bill and they usually are different amounts but add up to $250 OBC. Last winter they would have been valued around $690 for two. I bought back when the dollar was that crappy. My last ones I bought were $650 CAN. Just depends on the rate at the time. Problem is our dollar is better than when you bought them so you may loose a bit selling them but should only be around $25. Most people won't want to pay more than $250 US for them as that is what they cost onboard. Easy to transfer though. Just have to call ncl.

  7. So I booked a balcony because I could not pass up on the price! I didn't know I can still do the studio meet up... that will be awesome! I tend to find myself more of an introvert since I make a living from listening and talking so I am really looking forward to quiet time but there is comfort knowing that things are available to me... if I so desire.

I just posted at the end of this post but I am a nurse who is always having to talk with people daily in my job and sometimes it is nice to have some quieter times which is why I love solo cruising. Be sure to check out what is going on in the atrium at nite as they have some great game shows and funny events. A little crowded there but worth it. Also the comedy shows are great. I love the late nite ones but only good if you are not easily offended as it is the adult show. Do you have the dining package ? I love balconies but don't get them often as they are normally pricey for the solo person. I take my mattress off the bed and put it on the balcony and sleep out there lol. I am sure it would be frowned upon if they knew but it is so nice to sleep under the moon and stars and listen to the ocean. I have a few dinner for two vouchers as I am platinum so if you would like to go to cagneys steak house feel free to message me and I can tell you what nite I am going. It would be a free dinner and a bottle of wine for you if you want it cause I don't drink wine and it comes with it. Cagneys is awesome. Kind of a waste to use it just for one person. Only thing is that I usually go at 530 as I like to sit on the waterfront while we sale away from one of the ports.

  8. Are you on the dec 2 or dec 9 cruise? I will be on both. Not sure if you know it there is also a Facebook page for the dec 9 cruise but not sure which week you are on. I cruise the escape a lot. It is a great ship. I am 44. It's my favorite ship. I personally don't mind dining alone but I know some don't like that part of solo cruising. I think you will find cruising solo is quite fun. Do the evening meet ups if you want to join others for dinners or shows. I don't normally do that myself but have met many people on board that go and they always seem to have a great time. I can gladly answer any questions if you have any.

  9. Good morning,

Does anyone know of any hotels? I will just need transportation to POM. I won't be driving, so parking is not a concern. We will just be staying one-night at Hotel, so it doesn't need to be 5 star. LOL! I am flying into FLL.

    Thanks! :)

I have not stayed there but I have read the red roof inn Has a free shuttle. Days inn Miami north does as well. I have stayed there. It is clean but definitely older. Fine for one night. I have also stayed at the Sleep inn Miami springs which was very nice for the price and has a free airport shuttle but $10 pp to the port. If you go on a popular booking site and look at hotels it often says in the description if they offer a shuttle. Or read a few reviews of hotels around the airport and by the port. Usually someone mentions if there is a free shuttle plus you can read what people say about the hotel. That's often some things I do. I believe I paid $69 US for the sleep inn the nite prior to my cruise in August.48f7531c7fd77efa4066c057ce0b2038.jpg

  10. So sorry if this is proven a redundant post but I tried searching every way to Sunday to find any previous posts on the subject and couldn't get a hit on any combination of words.

I have an NCL Freestyle Cruise Reward Deposit for $250 credit to a booking. It is valid through May 7, 2018. Has anyone sold one of these and transferred it? NCL has assured me that they are fully transferrable.

Easy to transfer and very quick process. My brother bought some for me and they were in my account within two days of the end of his sailing.

  11. sailing my 14th solo cruise in 9 days and cant wait! My favorite thing to do by far. I work nite shift at my job so normal hours are not in my vocabulary which does not work well with others. I like the freedom of doing my own thing when i want. I have no issue eating alone or i often go to the comedy shows. No issue at all. I always go ashore and have seen some of the most beautiful places i have ever seen, most of which i would have missed if i waited for others to cruise. I would recommend the escape or getaway as i have been on both and both are great. Get involved in the solo group if that is your thing. They meet up every evening and many eat and see shows together. Some will even go ashore together. Should try it atleast once!

  12. That's a huge bummer that they did that to you. Otherwise you would have had the OB credit you could have taken advantage of. I got nervous and was afraid to miss out on the current 3rd and 4th said free promotion that I jumped the gun. Sounds like everyone else was able to use them though so hopefully they can use them towards my April cruise. We'll find out in 2 weeks! Otherwise it will be an excuse to book yet another cruise. ;)

    Thanks for the feedback!

I have applied them at many different points in the booking with no issue. Applied it on my Halloween cruise coming up for part of final payment no issue.

  13. Wondering if you can use them on a cruise that is already booked? Or are they only good for new bookings?

I just paid off my Halloween cruise. I had put down a cash deposit originally so I applied a cruise next certificate to the booking then paid the balance just last week. No issue. I have even paid in full and then added a certificate and they credited my credit card

  14. I am at baymont inn and suites Miami/Doral and it is pretty decent. Comfy king size bed all to myself. Friendly staff. Clean and no "old" smell like some hotels. Free breakfast and airport shuttle. Close to restaurants and shopping. AND hot water lol. Sorry you did not have a great experience. Not sure how a hotel has no hot water. That's crazy. The escape showers are very hot so you can look forward to that!!!

  15. Do a back to back - one on each lol. That would solve the problem!! Now that being said I have done both and both are similar but I prefer the escape. You would be fine with either. Maybe pick by itinerary

  16. unless things have changed in the last month or so, you can apply the cruise next certificates anytime. I booked a cruise, payed in full then was gifted some certificates prior to sailing. I called and had it applied to my booking and they credited the amount to my credit card as i had already paid in full. I also just yesterday applied a certificate to my halloween cruise that i booked months ago. No problem at all.

  17. even with 3, can u repeat a resturant ? I really need to see menus, we are very picky eaters, we are not fancy food eaters,, plain is more our style, steak, italian food,, def. not moderno or french food or even the byamo place ( not for us )

you sound like me! Cagneys is awesome, i eat there often when i cruise. The fillet mignon is amazing and the ribeye is excellent too. Oh and the truffle mashed potatoes are sooo good!

  18. you do not need to put a card on your account if you dont want to but you will have to give a deposit to them in cash..If you want to do any room charges to your card in the casino then you need to have a credit card attached to the account. I didn't have any issuses with holds on my account once the bill was finalized. I normally pay it down to zero in cash so nothing is charged to my card in the end.. Personal choice

  19. i actually am one who loves the studio cabins on NCL but if you can do last minute NCL often has balconies for no solo supplement. Two weeks ago it was $869 canadian for the balcony so maybe around $700 US. Other weeks the prices go up before sailing, all about supply and demand. I often try for a last minute if i can swing it.
