  1. We docked in Cherborg in September and we used Trevor at

american d-day tours.com. He was excellent and made the whole event come alive for us. We were a group of eight on our roll call.

Hi Susie - did Trevor have you guys send him checks prior to your tour to hold your spot?

  2. I weeded through all of the pages to get some ideas about my upcoming cruise (first time) in June. I am currently hovering between a size 20-22 (recently lost 50 lbs).

A month ago, I purchased my dress - in a size 18 - sort of as an incentive to continue losing weight. I just hope I don't get smaller..well I do, but you understand? At any rate, I wondered if my dress would be "suitable."

It has already been revealed..back in January. It was this dress..0305_59788_mm.jpg?wid=230&qlt=95&op_sharpen=1

I too was worried about the glitter at first - and it definitely does shed. But, I am a very plain Jane type of girl. I have makeup from 2 years ago . At any rate, these are the shoes that I will be wearing with the dress and I absolutely LOVE them.:D

audrey-brooke-dsw-evening-shoes-valentine-pump.jpgThey are my splash of color to make the dress even more fun. I figure this is something that I do not normally do - so, why not do something different?

I do wonder, though, if I should get an additional dress. Perhaps a long one? We will be sailing on the Carnival Legend in June on a 7 night cruise so we will have 2 "elegant" or "formal" nights.

    Any opinions?

I think that dress is beautiful! Where did you find it? Those shoes are super cute too!! And where did you get those??

That dress should look good on you though. I like how it has wider straps and it's not too low cut. I'd love to find something like that for my upcoming cruise.

  3. I can totally relate to this question. DH and I try to keep it quiet for as long as possible because we dont' want people to assume we are loaded. We both work hard for what we have and instead of us going out a lot to dinners, shopping, etc, we save up for cruises! We just plan really well and we figure we only have one life to live so live it up now!! But we always get that "you are going on ANOTHER cruise?" Even my coworkers do it...whenever my managers signs off on my vacation - "what cruise you going on now?" I think it's a great addiction! :)

  4. Being "rocked" to sleep

I read about this before I went on my first cruise and thought...uhh..okay...sure

After my first cruise, I understood.

    The sound of the horn.

    I love any and all.

Then I went on a Disney cruise and the horn played "When you wish upon a star" and it brought tears to my eyes. Not sure why..but it did.

Having a waiter place my napkin in my lap and handing me the first menu.

The first time this happened, I went ..whoa!

Then I realized the waiter wasn't getting friendly, he was placing my napkin. :D

Having someone scrape the little crumbs away from the tablecloth.

The first few nights back home, I keep waiting for that to happen...

    The talking elevator announcements

I usually do that a few times in a department store when we get back home.... "boing...home and garden"..." "boing...accessories & lingerie"

    :D

and yes.. I get strange looks and people hurrying off the eleveator once the door opens.

But once....I had a lady say "just off a cruise??" and I said "yes!"

then her and I just cracked up.

    Not making my bed

It's so nice to come back to the cabin and have my cabin all neat and the bed made.

    Chocolates and Towel Animals

for the first few nights when we return.... I put some chocolates on our pillows and turn down the bed. I try and make a towel animal, but they all end up looking like a lumpy snake :)

    Watching the ocean

Just sitting on our balcony and staring at the ocean.

Sometimes I like to go out on a deck and use one of the lounge chairs and gaze.

    Being Thankful

going on a cruise, makes me appreciate all my blessings.

I'm grateful I can afford to go.

I'm blessed to be able to see beautiful places.

This list is perfect! I couldn't agree more :)

  5. Hi all,

First time poster here, so please be gentle.

My partner and I are taking a 7 night Alaska cruise in September. We are interested in pre purchasing our drinks and was wondering if one of us could buy the Classic package and the other buy the Premium package. My drinks requirements are more than adequately met by the Classic package, except for Peroni. Would it be frowned upon, if on the occasions, I drank a Peroni from my partners Premium package and at the same time, he took a drink from my Classic package?

    I hope this makes sense.

    Thanks in advance

I don't think that would be a problem to do that however don't be shocked of someone calls it stealing.

  6. Just putting in my 2 cents worth here. We decided to try the Premium package on the Century in Jan. Although they claim you can have a glass of wine up to $12. there was not one to choose from on the wine menu, which was very disappointing. The highest price was $9.50. We did enjoy being able to drink Martini's etc whenever we wanted but since we are Elite it was tough fitting it all in to make it worthwhile. The only problem I had was in the Martini bar after I had ordered a martini, I asked the bar staff for a water & they basically told me I had to drink my Martini first before I could have water. This seemed odd to me so I went to the bar & asked for the water & it was no problem.

That's a bit silly they didn't want to give you a water, it's not like you ordered another drink. glad you finally got it though!
