We were there last month, and instead of going to the resort, we took a taxi abut 20 minutes from the port to Cleveland's Beach Club. It doesn't look like much, in fact we call it our favorite Bahamas Dive Bar, but it is on the beach, the 5 children in our group pretty much had the whole beach to themselves, the beer was cold, the food was great - best conch fritters EVER! Cleveland and Millie were great hosts, and it was pretty much locals and a couple of people who came from the nearby hotel. There is a facebook page for it.

Since the taxi from port to Cleveland’s was about 20 minutes ride, the driver decided to join us for lunch. She sat at a nearby table and Cleveland sat and talked with her a bit, she laughed at our kids’ antics and recommended a local beer for us. Then took us back when we were ready to go.

We are just back from our cruise, and got a taxi in Freeport, ($8 per person, each way) and took a 20 minute ride to Cleveland's Beach Club. This is not fancy by any means, kind of looks like a dive, but was on the beach (our kids had it all to themselves), the beer was cold, and food excellent. We sat on the deck, enjoyed our beers and conch fritters, while the kids played in the water on the beach, then called them up to eat, there is an outdoor shower for them to rinse off at, then we ate our meals, and after the kids danced on the deck to music Cleveland had playing, we got back in the taxi and headed back to the dock. It was low key, but a great relaxing time.

We just got back from our cruise and went to Balmoral. We enjoyed the dolphin swim part, but the beach day and food were not as great. Food was way overpriced. We would have preferred to head back to ship, but had to wait until time for our ferry back to the port.

Have a group of 4 adults, 4 tweens, and 1 child cruising and saw that we could get day passes for Viva Wyndham Fortuna - has anyone done this before? Any reviews?

I agree, we took a cab to Cleveland's Beach Club, nothing fancy, but we enjoyed kicking back at the uncrowded beach, cold beer and good food.
