  1. I have a question for anyone who's sailed recently on any of the Azamara ships. On a couple sites (e.g. cruisemapper.com), they show staterooms on deck 3 - but Azamara's site starts on deck 4 across all the ships. Is there out-of-date info out there?

I think that Onward was added to the fleet during the time the spreadsheet was in limbo.  Up until then all three ships had identical cabin layouts, so cabin numbers track across those three ships.  But Onward has a different layout on deck 8, so Onward cabin numbers do not track with the other three ships.  This will complicate your job!

Hmm. Maybe another mini-project - add a sheet to the spreadsheet listing the categories and corresponding staterooms, by ship. Guess I'm getting bored in retirement!

Hey there - this is not a priority but I thought I would point out that several of the cabins on deck 7 are listed at OV when they should be balcony/veranda. For example, cabins in the 7008-7039. I think the ships are all the same regarding this? The one I know personally is the Journey. I am booked in 7037 and it's a V2.

Thanks, I'll take a look. I based the spreadsheet on the original document, and may have done some unintentional copy/pastes!

Are you a time traveler? 😉 Assume you meant you sailed in December 2023...

Great spreadsheet. How do we make additions? I'm on Onward 4051.  While the cabin is close to access mosaic, front desk, and elevators, it is quite noisy. The dragging of the deck chairs above on the promenade happens early a.m. when they are setting up in addition to throughout the day. (I have requested several times that chairs are rolled on their wheels rather than shoved, to no avail)   Also, the proximity to the front desk access door means a lot of door slamming as crew access it frequently.  You also need to assess if you want to encounter a potential line of people waiting at the front desk as you come and go from your cabin.  I would not choose it again but think weighing this issues is a personal decision.

If you'd like, you can put this information in the "standard" format and I'll add it to the spreadsheet. I'm pretty much all caught up!

OK, based on the quick feedback - I will NOT open the spreadsheet for editing, so if you want me to add information, please use the format that's been the "standard":

Any other comments (keeping these succinct so the spreadsheet does not grow too much)

I'm still catching up from older posts, so please be patient! Here's the link to the spreadsheet:

Just wondering if anyone is having issues with searching in this thread? I've been looking to match up reply numbers with the information posted in the older spreadsheets, but can't find a number of the posts with the comments or cabin/stateroom numbers. Just a little frustrating...

Hi - not sure whether I can (or should) open up the spreadsheet for general editing access. Any thoughts? I suppose if you put a post in this thread and tag me, I'll get a notification to go looking. I'm still way WAY behind on catching up from older posts, so bear with me -- just back from a week snowboarding in Breckenridge!

  9. Hi all,

I took it upon myself to try to recreate the spreadsheet in Google Sheets, similar to the one for Celebrity. Using the documents pinned in reply #1, I have everything from there with the addition of references to the reply numbers where the information was posted - well, up to #500, so I have a way to go to complete that effort. Would there be any interest in having this shared for public access?

  10. We just returned from a cruise on Celebrity's Edge and booked this tour through ItalyTours.EU. Our driver, Salvatore, was funny, conscientious, and gave a great amount of information as we made our way from port to Positano, Sorrento, and Pompeii. Glad we did the stops in that order as there was a MASSIVE traffic jam in one of the tunnels headed away from the port as we were returning.

Before we reached Positano we stopped at a roadside stand for some fresh squeezed orange juice with lemon sorbet (yum!) and many photo opportunities. When we arrived in Positano, Sal parked at a garage/lot and pointed us in the direction of a number of shops and the seashore. After our free time there, we headed back towards Sorrento, where Sal again came through with a recommendation for a spot (Aurora) to get some lunch. Stuffed to the gills, we walked around a bit to burn off some of the calories, then it was off to Pompeii where we met our tour guide Erica. She led us through the site and gave us great insights as to the history of the city. Finally we returned to meet up with Sal and head back to the port in Naples. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour, and be sure to include the guide in Pompeii! It was a busy day, with a lot of walking, but thoroughly enjoyed by all our group.

What I just did, as I still haven't gotten an e-mail from Celebrity acknowledging that I watched, was go back to one of the earlier e-mails, where the link says "Join Webinar".  Took me directly to the video.  No idea if I'll get the points, but it can't hurt to try again.

I was able to use the links from the email from the 6th just now. Must have been a temporary issue!

I received the e-mail on the 6th of May and I went to watch it a couple of minutes ago and the links have been removed.  No points for me!

I can't even get to the base part of the URL (click.email.celebritycruises.com) -- none of the links in the email will work. Looks like an issue with the domain; even Google's DNS can't resolve the address.

  13. We just got back (July 17) from a southbound cruise after a land tour. Every recommendation we had seen said to do the land portion first, and I can see why. Schlepping luggage from place to place (yes, Princess did pickup and dropoff at each lodge) vs. having everything unpacked in our stateroom was a huge difference.

At the Captain's Circle event late in the cruise, the captain mentioned that we *almost* didn't get to see the Hubbard glacier due to heavy fog and ice, but they were in contact with another smaller ship who were closer to the glacier where the fog had lifted, so we pressed on. Glad we did!

We're considering a return to spend more time in the Kenai area, so I think we might do a NB followed by an extended stay in one place on land with day trips in the area, vs. the long distance/multiple moves we had with the land tour.

  14. We did a very similar trip in August arriving in Fairbanks on the last flight of the day. It is still light then! But I am confused as to when you start on board the ship. Fairbanks is very far away from Whittier where you catch the boat - hundreds of miles away. We did the land and sea tour with a week on land and a week at sea. So I am assuming you are going to do the same thing.

    (... deleted for brevity )

Quick question for you - do you recall which tour this was? We're looking at OB7 for next year and it sounds like this one.

    Thanks!

  15. Wondering if my party of 6 would have time to do both Trike tour AND Great Cozumel Race? I would like the Trike tour to be in the morning. Long day for sure, but our ship comes in by 8am and leaves by 7pm.
We just did the morning trike tour, started a little late and didn't get back to the port area until 2 PM or so. Might be cutting it close!

  16. We are looking into a good family all inclusive resort near the Port of Falmouth. I was wondering if Jaital was a good reputable company to book with? How do their transportation to and from work. I know resortforaday.com brings you back 2 hrs before the ship leaves. What does Jaital do? Any info would be appreciated....good or bad.[emoji4]

We just did this for our day in Falmouth, used Jaital (also known as Jamaica Tours Limited) to book a day pass at the Hilton Rose Hall, with transportation to and from the resort. Everything was smooth as could be. Our only confusion was finding them in the morning. Stay WAY to the right as you leave the ship, and the area with prearranged tours (not through the ship) is well marked.

We were picked up two hours before "all aboard" time which left plenty of time to check out the shops in the port area. The four of us had our own driver, as things worked out.

  17. We just got back from our sailing on Harmony of the Seas. Our day in Jamaica was spent at the Hilton Rose Hall, which the four of us (mid 50s to mid 60s) enjoyed to the max. Service was impeccable, food and drink excellent. Make sure if you do this trip to find the Jerk Hut, out past the lazy river area!

  18. We want to go to the beach after our morning tour. Does anyone know if the trikes have a storage compartment that would fit our snorkel gear?
We did this excursion a couple years ago. The trunk on the trikes was very roomy, so I think there would be no problem carrying your gear.

  19. Just back from our Western Caribbean sailing on Harmony of the Seas. We spent several hours with the Trikes Cozumel team and had a great time! We'd never seen some of the coast beyond the typical beach clubs like Mr Sanchos and Nachi Cocom; the views along the seaside were spectacular! When we booked we somehow missed that the tequila tasting and lunch were included, so that was a nice surprise. We highly recommend this tour!

  20. We traveled to Houston (HOU) and had scheduled a SuperShuttle ride from the airport to Bayport Terminal. It was supposed to be a "meet and greet" type ride, but nobody met us. My daughter called SuperShuttle and learned that they had OVERBOOKED (Sunday, March 29) so we ended up taking a Yellow Cab minivan and SuperShuttle covered the cost - and is supposed to reimburse for the prepaid ride as well. Not a good first impression.

On our return trip we just cancelled SuperShuttle and did the Yellow Cab thing again. About $65 plus tip each way (if we'd paid for the ride from the airport, that is...)

  21. I think you'll find that price is for Hobby not Bush.....we are flying cheaply with Spirit, and they don't fly into Hobby!!

Maybe - Princess doesn't distinguish between the two on the page where you set up the transfers; there's only one price option. We were looking at flying United into IAH but decided to go SWA into HOU, so it's become a non-issue.

Now we're wondering whether it's better to get a private car for the 4 of us since it's pretty much the same price -- plus tip, of course. Probably worth a little extra to go that route.

  22. so for people flying into Houston (Bush) i've booked the County Inn & suites by Carlson Houston Iah Airport South they have a free shuttle from the airport and I paid $70 inc all the taxes and will get a cab in the morning to the cruise port....which I think is the cheapest option, altho I don't know the exact cost of a cab, Uber cabs are about $70, super shuttle is $60 for the 2 of us...and Princess shuttle is $48 per person each way

I see $24 per person each way on the Princess site. Does this change if you fly into IAH vs. HOU? We're coming from southern California, trying to decide on LAX vs. SAN -- logistically SAN is better since we can park at our son's place and save there, but the flights out of LAX are a bit better price. Depending on which airline we choose, we end up in IAH with United and HOU with Southwest. Hope weather is in our favor in late March!
