  1. I am a Platinium CC member and got shut out of a cabana for our April 2015 Dream cruise. So it goes to show that even us sometimes get nothing. I did get Palo Brunch and Dinner ressies though.... As everyone has said before, as long as you are not picky online with your times you should be ok. Most of the excursions are usually do not sell out with the exception of the dolphin excursions. Those are Cozumel on the Western, and since you're looking at an Eastern you should be fine there. The jet skiing or parasailing excursion on Castaway Cay can also go quickly, so if you are interested there, grab whatever time is left!

  2. These have been on sale since March of this year, there were two cruises that did R/T from Dover and the 7 night repo that goes to Barcelona. Most of them are pretty sold out as of right now. As final payment get closer (sometime in March of 2015), you might see some cancellations and some cabins open up.

  3. Personally, I'd move down to a 4B. It's the same size room except located on deck 8, or grab a 4A on deck 9. You won't have any problems with noise there from deck 11 above like you could and probably will on deck 10. Continue to maintain your wait list you never know what will happen!!!!!

  4. We've done it both ways. We prefer the two rooms to the suite. The suite did have two bathrooms, but the real sleeping areas is where the two rooms really win out. My kids really dislike pull out sofas, so the real beds win every time. I also like having more usable space in the cabin. In a suite your living room becomes the kids sleeping area, and after awhile becomes a kid mess. Yes, you get perks in a suite, but I find I didn't use them all that much to make it worth it.

  5. You should be able to use the elevator to get to the drill. In 2013, I had a broken foot and was in a walking boot. I just headed down about 5 min before to beat the rush and talk to the muster leader about about being to leave a little early so I wouldn't get trampled in the sea of people after it was over. They dismissed me about 5 minutes early before everyone else, so I could get to an elevator and avoid the crush of people. They probably will do the same for you. I'd advise getting there early, so you can make yourself known to the assembly station leader so they can dismiss you early.

  6. Just so you know you can only utilize the DCL transport to one of DCL's Barcelona hotels. They won't transport you to the hotel of your choice. Same goes to the port, you must leave from one of DCL's hotels. I believe DCL uses the Renaissance Barcelona and the Hilton Diagonal Mar. You do not have to make your hotel reservations through DCL if you don't want to, but you do need to stay in one of those two if you wish to use DCL's transfer service.

  7. I actually just did this is reverse Miami port to FLL. We had a 11:45 flight. We parked our rental car at the port and drove ourselves, but the timing would be the same. I'd have a limo/car waiting just for your party and not rely on a shuttle or a taxi line. We made it no problem. Our ship cleared at 8AM and we walked off with our luggage and were in our car by 8:45, at FLL checking in by 9:30 and through security by 10:30. Of course a 2 hour delay with our flight on Sunday it didn't matter, but we would have made it if our flight had been on time.

  8. I've done both and I don't think the suite is worth it. We prefer the two rooms actually. My kids are older than yours (15 and 12) so they prefer the real beds(in the connecting rooms) to the pull outs in the suite. We didn't really use the concierge service much either, though we were on the Wonder in the suite on the Fantasy you'd have the lounge. Personally I'd go with connecting 5d's that's what we had and found it perfectly adequate. The size difference between the the two categories isn't much especially since you would have two cabins you really wouldn't need the extra 30sq ft extra per room. It's really just an extra chair and room for a pull down bed that you probably wouldn't use anyway. So why pay for it!!

  9. Just an FYI - that may be Royal's policy, however I booked with a TA and even though I booked adjoining rooms, they still made me put 1 adult in each room.

That may have been something to do with the TA as I have always booked direct with Royal and never had an issue.

I've done it both ways, booked direct with RCCL and with a TA. TA's don't like to do it as it requires an extra step on their end. If they are familiar with the policy they have to "call in" the kids reservation rather than confirming it through the system. Since it requires an override, one the TA can't do. If I was using a TA that refused to do this "extra step" after I told them of the policy, I'd take my business elsewhere.

  10. I know its been up a while but is it really a coincidence that the DCL website under Europe ports of call have two photos up of cruise ports that currently DCL are NOT scheduled to go to,

    (1) Is Lisbon Portugal.

    (2) Is this place.

    Copenhagen.

That's a big coincidence with Baltic cruises for summer 2015 rumored, and one rumor of seven night cruises from a home port of.....

    Copenhagen.

IF you look at the pictures during the slideshow feature, that particular picture is actually listed at Copenhagen, which I agree is weird as it's not listed as a destination they currently sail to!!! Now, when can I book my air tickets?????????

  11. We've done both, a cat T and connecting veranda rooms. Personally the connecting veranda rooms are better for sleeping space, as you get actual beds for every person and more private sleeping space. In the T, the kids sleep in the living room. Also, the 2nd bathroom in the T is pretty small, but still functional, the split baths in the veranda room give you more room. The concierge service is nice, but not worth the price difference IMO. We stick with connecting verandas now, the price is so much cheaper and the kids prefer their own beds rather than pullout couches......

  12. Great!! Any chance you can email me this? I have been trying to convince my wife to do the Hyatt, and this would help since she is a little worried about this. jimdicap@gmail.com

    Thanks!!

These aren't my letters. I found them on the internet, but they are the same ones I've received. If you right click on the images, you should be able to open them in another page window, which is the same thing......

  13. If we come in on the day of the cruise the earliest flight will have us in at 9:30, I understand that coming in on the same day is always a risk but is 9:30 generally early enough to get there on time? I am thinking if the flight is on time we would get there around 1...

Yep IF the flight is on time... I've had issues where we've been delayed SEVERAL hours.... If that were to happen, you could miss the ship. Unless you booked your air through DCL, they WILL leave without you. I also don't like those early flights, it ruins my whole day. I'm so exhausted, that I never enjoy any first day of vacation after one of those flights..... It's of course all up to you. We always fly in the day prior.....

  14. Someone mentioned that Disney takes your luggage for you from the Hyatt? How does this work?

You tag your luggage with the tags DCL provides you with and you leave it inside your room. When you check into the Hyatt, mention you are using DCL transfers (you must use DCL transfers for them to take your luggage) and they will give you a sheet with all of the instructions on it. When you go downstairs in the airport in the AM, they will ask you your room number and how many pieces of luggage you left as a double check that they got everything. They say they pick up around 8:30AM, I've never been there at that time, but my luggage as always made it to the ship!!!!! Here is a copy of the letter the Hyatt will give to you.... 15. There are no hotels in Port Canaveral that provide shuttle service from MCO, you have to arrange that yourself. There are several that will shuttle you to the port in the AM though. The most economical route would be you renting a room at any Port Canaveral hotel and renting a car at MCO and driving yourselves out there upon landing. Have your husband drop you and the kids off in the morning at the port and return the rental car. The easiest and costliest would be to stay at the airport Hyatt and take DCL transfers. DCL takes your bags from your room, and you just head downstairs to the check-in and they take care of the rest. Of course, you have to pay for the Hyatt and the transfer fee of $30 per person, but it is worth it! There is no "Magical Express" for DCL, that's the free service provided for the WDW resort hotels.

  16. That's your decision to make. We are taking one in Aug and my kids will be 13 and 10, so old enough to have fun. One of the members of our party has an 8YO and they are dismayed that most of the fun excursions have an age limit of 10. The 5 yo will have a BLAST onboard, but it's on land that I think will be your problem. Also the weather might not be warm enough to use the pools depending on when you are sailing. I don't think it will be warm enough when we sail!!!!!
