We arrived at 12:15 and was on the ship in 15 minutes, a very easy embarkation.
It is a small ship, not alot of bells and whistles but we had a very relaxing vacation. Was able to get a chair around 9:30am every easily every day.
The food other than the 1st night was solid, always found something we liked. Other than 1st day and a few breakfasts did not eat in Windjammer. They had a mexican BBQ one day and paella and fajitas by the pool which were solid. The Park Cafe was a nice treat, some nice variety and very enjoyable roast beef
Paul was a good stateroom attendant, had 2 great waiter in Jim and Gener and an excellent bar server in the dining room in Debbie.
One of us had the premium package and the bartenders especially Noel by the pol were quick and efficient. One thing is if you are on 2nd deck waiters are hit or miss so I did walk to the bar more often than not.
Only saw the Cruise Director a few time but Gizzy and Andre who ran all the fun activities were excellent and had tons of energy. Real great guys.
Casino was small and mostly empty, no poker but Andrew and Alex the dealers were great to interact with.
The pool side band played a nice variety of songs and group in Centrum were pretty good.
The comedian Mark was excellent in both shows, a must see.
The only real negatives were their new show All Access was just awful, poorly planned and put together. There was a Motown band that were fine but then another group Soul something were glorified Karaoke.
We went to Coco Reef and Horseshoe on the 2 days in Bermuda as the 1st day we got there too late to do anything relevant on a Sunday
Just a solid cruise!
Big question for a lot of people lately is whether or not the arial shows have started back up. Also, do you recall which movies were being shown?
Glad to hear you had a solid cruise. Two weeks away for us.

Yikes, I may be cancelling my reservation. May I ask why NOT Best Western Plus on O'Donnell?
Following...
Also, anyone with experiences with Best Western on Belle Grove?

.........because children inevitably think that anything that their parents do is lame, lame, lame.
;)
Everything land or sea but especially in public and while they are present.

There is construction on I-95 inside the Beltway. How much time it might cost you varies.
Thanks for the heads-up.

Here in Queen Annes County our kids are out June 16th.......I believe most of the neighboring counties are the same. Please keep in mind that we did have a few days added to the end due to snow. So, if some famlies had booked this prior to the days added.....there may be a few more kids.
Take care,
Sandi
Thanks Sandi. I was thinking school year might be a little extended. Also not sure if the smaller ships do not attract younger families due to less kid friendly amenities or is it the opposite due to pricing.

Driving Thursday June 11th to get on Grandeur the next morning. Doing a park and cruise in BWI area. Any major construction concerns to worry about?

We will also be on the June 12th GOS contributing 2 kids, ages 9 and 10.
Hey, you should checkout our roll call and signup for the meet and mingle.

If you click on my reviews (see below in signature), I have posted the AO dailies for both my Grandeur cruises.
Thanks!

Or worse.... using their salad forks with their entrees.
I thought that fork was in case you dropped the first one. ;)

It happened on our Thanksgiving cruise too, but I think only one or two nights. We never had a problem but AO warned all the parents during registration that the club would turn kids away when they reached capacity (80 kids). There were only 42 kids in the 3-5 range, so that room never had a problem, but I think the other room did because they combine 6-8 and 9-11 groups together.
I guess I should have put a qualifier on my original post. I will be contributing 3 children to the child population on the cruise. :)
Not scared by the volume of children, but trying to prepare myself for what to expect on board. My youngest (9) would probably be the most interested in the AO activities. Other than a race to the registration table on embarkation, is there a way to register ahead of time?
If nothing else, it sounds like I'll be able to gauge what kind of parent I've been when I see how they interact with a large group of kids.

Thank you both for the feedback. ;)

Embarking on our first cruise June 12th. I understand that GOS holds roughly 2000 passengers. So how many kids do think will be on that cruise? Is it early enough that most kids will still be in school?
PS Thanks to all for the helpful information and entertainment for this newby for the last several months! :D

A state usually offers an identification card for those who don't have a driver's license.
Thanks Bob!

The birth certificate can not be the hospital, souvenir footprint birth certificate, it needs to be a certified birth certificate. Some states have raised seals, some don't.
As far as a photo ID, only those 16 years old and up need a government issued photo ID.
Travelling in June on Grandeur. Was planning on use birth certificates for the kids. My oldest will just have turned 16 prior to. With no drivers license yet, what alternative photo id could be used?
