We are loyal to Royal and we tried Carnival Liberty out of Galveston. After that trip we said never again. I'm not sure if it was Carnivals issue or an insanely selfish group of cruisers. We felt like it was nothing shy of an entitled trip to Walmart. Pushing and shoving to get off the one gangway at the port. Lines through the halls and up the stairwells to get off. One gangway open to get on at the port. We had people trying to steal our towels, even with our bags and drinks of the table. Major line cutting for food and so much more. We just felt like there was no people management for this particular cruise. We just didn't feel like we fit the clientele from this particular port. We stick to Florida ports now.

It took a super long time when we went this summer! I felt like I was missing pool time!

Now that we've done Oasis, we are having a hard time thinking of booking anything smaller. We enjoyed everything that ship had to offer. We had a horrible experience on our previous trip on a midsized ship, so this was a welcome calmness. We loved the four pool options, we always were able to find chairs together, we never had a problem. We found it so relaxing and we weren't bothered by all the little kids since there were so many spaces. We went in August, so it was a hot times for families! Like others said the elevators were crowded after shoes and the windjammer was very busy. We had a cabin at the front of the ship, so we ate breakfast pretty often in the Solarium to avoid those crowds. You can find your own ways to be with less people, like running to Central Park at lunch or bringing your food back to your pool chair to eat. We had an amazing time! I know people have negative reviews, but sometimes people just look for the negative instead of enjoying everything that is positive.

Frozen pizza at best and nasty frozen pizza at that. Only had it on the Oasis and we gave it a few tries. The crusts taste pre-made, very cardboardy. The cheese was chewy guck, not sure it was actually real cheese.

Same. I think frozen from the grocery store is better. Crust was funky to say the least.

Hello Fellow Cruise Friends!
My hubby and I are starting to plan for summer travel. We'd like to travel in July or early August. We absolutely love cruises! We've done three in the last three years. We want to hear what cruises you enjoy in the summer?
We are willing to risk hurricanes, we were on the last Oasis stop in August at St Maarten and Puerto Rico before the hurricane. We also are fine in the heat!
We've done all sizes of ships and loved the Oasis class, so we are fine with a crowd. We are contemplating a Mediterranean Cruise, but not sure if the excursions will add up too much over our budget.

We took a 10am shuttle from Orlando. We got to the port about 11 and were onboard at 11:20 without stopping!

We tried this, but we flew in. We were unable to blow up the silly rafts by mouth in the end. Who knew :)
I never heard anything great about the snorkeling, we loved Coco Cay, I don't think RC even offers a snorkel package on the island. Might be worth looking into.

We are a late 20's couple and just did our first mega ship on Oasis a few weeks ago. We absolutely loved it! I would highly recommend it! We didn't love CATS, but we loved all the pool options. The zip line was nothing major, but we've done Hawaii recently. We didn't try the Flowriders or Ice Skating, because we have those options locally. We had a blast and wouldn't hesitate to book Oasis again!
But Harmony looks awesome too!

We went a week ago, but the water taxi wasn't going. Nellie's was much busier than Columbus, but Columbus' area doesn't go that far out. And there were a lot of jellyfish, not sure about Nellie's on that particular day.

We did it a week ago on the Oasis. It was $30. We made a California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, a Shrimp Tempura Roll and finally a raw shrimp sushimi. They did not allow us to take a to go box, we had to consume it in the class. It was so much food!

We used Galveston Express, we can't say we were overly impressed with them. Compared to the Florida shuttles they were late and disorganized. I thought Galveston was a generally tricky port to get to.
-
Like others said, packaged items are good. I saw others having issues with fruit in Cozumel, they are VERY strict.

We will be there next week, and I'm an honest soul when I'm annoyed. I can let you know when we return.

We will be there next week, so far I've found this post (and the two sister posts that are linked) to be interesting and informative.

Take a small bottle of dish soap and clean in cabin sink

Just bought one for our upcoming cruise. After a four day cruise they got SOOOOO gooey from being in the range of sunscreen being sprayed.

Would you recommend using this cup on tours off the ship? Or should we bring our Tervis tumblers? I'm just thinking it will be so hot next week in Old San Juan, walking to the fort. I love how my Tervis holds ice.

Thanks for posting about this. Do you know the prices for different classes? I was interested in the yoga, depending on the cost. It sounds like it is priced for major metro areas, we pay about $10 in my area for drop in, but I heard that's a great deal!

We are doing Cortrans again on this cruise. We watched a nightmare of waiting down in Houston with Carnival, and realized how nice some o these private companies are!

We did Carnival last spring, and we are not their type. We do prefer Royal. I think Royal has better people management systems, and everything flows. Carnival was just a nightmare of pushing and shoving, waiting in long lines, rude and entitled people. We said never again. It was like the never ending bad Walmart trip. The food was fine and the staff worked hard, but you pay for what you get.

Is this for assigned dining times or my time dining? We always end up sitting along with my time, we'd love to meet some new people.

Hello! We are super excited to be sailing on the Oasis later next month, with a quick stop in Puerto Rico. I was disappointed to see that we are only in port from 7am-2pm (back on board by 1:30). Can you make some suggestions of fun things to do, based on this time frame. My current ideas are breakfast, walk to the forts, walk around the historic areas and shop.
We honestly debated between a cruise and spending a week here, so I want to get a taste of the town! Thanks!

I always hand my waiter and assistant waiter cash on the last night. I never leave it on the table. This is on top of prepaid. The amounts are dependent on the type of service, how many days, etc. There is no correct amount, just what you feel is good.
Same, especially if we've had a good team!

I'm not sure exactly what destinations are at each port, but if you want to see certain religious establishments in Europe, they have certain dress requirements. My sister went a few years ago, and found herself buying the proper clothes to be allowed in to her destinations.
CocoCay Changes Coming

Wow, very interesting to see the whole overhaul! I always think of Coco Cay as a relaxing and chill place where we snorkel, float around the water and have a great beach day together. The vibe definitely seems different now. Coco Cay has always been one of our favorite beach days we reminisce about.
