I am not sure on this one we pre-paid before we even boarded because we hit the bar the minute we got on board! I know if you wait until you are out to sea I think you avoid taxes.

The 150 Central park has some of the best sandwiches I thought.. We ate at Giovanni's and it was AMAZING I had some lamb chop and pasta omg it melted in my mouth. We also went to the sushi/hibachi place (dont remember the name) but it was very good as well. We did eat in the American Icon, Central Park 150, Windjammer, Solarium Buffet, and Johnny Rockets all were amazing! We did eat at the special restaurants more than the dining room though.

I was on the Oasis back in October and we had one day where we hit a thunderstorm at sea and I felt it for about an hour out of the entire trip. However the Oasis in my opinion is not like the other ship I was on in March. When the Oasis hits rough seas it more or less vibrates is how I can describe it instead of a roll feeling. However the night it started rocking we were all the way forward in the Solarium bar and it did give you the "ok this ship is rocking" feeling but as soon as we headed down to the promenade it was just a vibration feeling. I took my daughter back in March on a Carnival ship and for 4 days we had 15 foot seas and she got pretty ill one of the days so we got something call seabands and it was little pressure points that she put on her wrist and that seemed to stop the nausea. Hope you guys have fun - you will LOVE the oasis there is soooo much to do!

That frig is pricey. But we had an oceanview room on deck on, I had a small frig, and safe. But ONE outlet...Literally bring a power strip so you can plug in phone chargers, hair dryers or whatever!

I was just on the Liberty 2 weeks ago. While it was my first cruise I had no idea what to expect, it was extremely rough. To the point where I paid money to walk into the walls! We missed Grand Turk because of the wind but they did refund our port costs I think for a total of $30-$40. The decor was ok, but they were always doing maintenance by the pool so hot tubs would close randomly throughout the day, they would close stairs so you had to walk all the way around. They were always cleaning the ship though which I thought was amazing. I did have to take my daughter the doctor she vomited once and they had a rule if you vomited you had 12 hours to be checked out. Fortunately it was just her being seasick. But they do not take sickness and germs lightly. Which was very comforting. I loved the pictures that you could have taken, and they would have photographers everywhere so at the end of your cruise it was a very awesome selection of photos to purchase! I loved sitting on the promenade deck and just watching people walk, and just conversating. I learned that cruising is the one vacation you can take that forces you to put your phone away and communicate with people! The cruise director was awesome, he did a great job even when we had an extra day at sea. The food was ehh... Honestly, I have had better food at Chilis or Applebees. Our server was awesome (Guillermo). Activities were fun, my daughter loved the kids club. Diamond Steakhouse was probably the best food I have ever put in my mouth (if I could have afforded it I would have gone there every night!) The shows were good. My brother is crew on the ship he runs all the lighting, pyro, and sounds for all the shows so we got a backstage pass to somethings.
Overall if it was not so rocky I would do it again...I am terrified of going on another cruise if it is going to be that rough. Even though I am booked on Oasis of Seas in October. I mean we literally walked into walls, housekeeping carts, tripped down stairs. At one point we were in the elevator and you could feel it swinging on the cables...Crazy. I would give it a 6 out of 10!

I was just on the liberty 2 weeks ago and the fun times was decent. I am not sure what they are changing. But I know they changed out cruise directors the one on there now is Philippe he has been doing cruise directing for like 10-15 years! I hope you all love your cruise!

I think one apple a day (considering my daughter LOVES apples) will be sufficient. I know for sure I am putting a seaband on her. I found a hot pink one that looks like tie-dye which she will love too. Thank you again everyone for all the advice!

This is a great post for the first time cruiser over here! I am just a little over 30 days out and have already packed beach towels, suntan lotion, and things we wont need until the cruise. I did not even think about notifying my bank that I may use my card out of the country. I have also set up a roaming data plan on my phone. I am looking into excursions, and have nailed down parking at the port.

There is a variety of channels to watch not like at back home though, there are some dvd's available at the Customer Service.
So that answers my next question... I should bring DVDs!

So as mentioned Im cruising with my 6 year old, what (if any) TV channels do you get? She likes to lay down and watch TV before bed...Just curious! :p

haha. I am not sure I am going to let her get her whole head, but just a few braids would be cute on a 6 year old! haha

Thank you everyone for all the pointers! I am getting the sea bands and putting them on myself and my daughter...I am hoping that will void off any potential issues! I have never heard of the green apples before...So a green apple every morning will be happening! haha.

Thank you so much!! My Mom just told me Coki Beach in St. Thomas does it as well. I just know if I do it on the ship it will cost me too much.
-
Thank you for the advice! I think I may just put a sea band on her just to prevent anything.

So me and my daughter are embarking on our first cruise in March. We are heading to Grand Turk and my daughter wants her hair braided. Does anyone know of any places on the island she can have it done? Thanks in advance!

Awesome! I am sailing on March 8th on the Liberty! Very helpful! How was the movement on the ship?

Hello everyone my name is Jenn and I am new to cruising....My first cruise is March 8th on the Carnival Liberty. I am taking my 6 year old with me. While I know everyone's concern is seasickness. Me and my daughter are not prone to motion sickness so in theory I am hoping we will be ok! We do have a balcony room pretty close to midship.
What does everyone suggest?
Harmony of the seas: worried about seasickness

I have been on the Harmony's sister ship the Oasis and the movement was so minimal and we hit a nasty thunderstorm one night. The ship is HUGE! What movement you do feel is maybe vibration or SLIGHT rocking back but nothing I needed medicine for.
