Yes, for me it is so sad how people treat these wonderful ships. I only like the O ships, but we were just on the Riviera in the OS. OMG, it looked like someone danced on the nightstands with high heels. There were gouges on the dining room table. I know that the ship is going in next year and they have replacement furniture, but no one should misuse the ships like this. It is not management, it is those who stay in the staterooms and have no respect. I almost cried. The finish on this furniture is not standard. It is something special.
Anyway, it is not the cruise line's fault. It is some of the uncaring people who misuse the staterooms.
That being said, the cruise was wonderful and everything was meticulously cleaned.
Riviera is being refurbished next year?

Thank you! Really helpful information. I liked the idea of knowing upfront how much our drink bills would be and then not having to think about it during the cruise, but I think you are right - it doesn't make sense to get either of the packages for the amount we drink.

We are new to Oceania and I've been following the beverage package threads with interest, trying to work out it we would benefit from them. My husband will have one drink in the bar (beer or champagne) then max. three glasses of wine with dinner. I will have either a beer or cocktail in the bar and one or two glasses of wine with dinner. We wouldn't drink alcohol at all during the day. Do you think it's worth it for either of us to get the package, and if so should we go with the basic or prestige? Thanks for any input.

Thank you both!

Can anyone let me know which nights are the formal nights on Regal's Barcelona to Venice itinerary? Are they the two sea days? Thanks.

I'm on the ship. Captain's update at 9:00 was that we may be able to leave this afternoon. He gets hourly updates from the Coast Guard and they are still cleaning up the oil before they try to move the barge, which is blocking the channel. If we leave by mid-day the itinerary will stay the same.

Thank you so much, Chez for the fantastic blog of your cruise. Your writing is so vivid I feel like I have been on holiday with you and you seem to know exactly what we all want to hear about regarding the ship and insider tips. Your time and effort is really appreciated - it has been a pleasure to follow your journey.
