One of the perks is Preferred seating in the main theater but it's the Front Row.

I never sit in the front row so that  is something I will never use.

On our recent Beyond cruise the Premier seating was in the first two rows in the balcony. The suite guests sat behind them!!

Yes.  That's what we're thinking.  Her 90 days will fall during our sailing.

    Thank You!   =).

Nice, you were did the same itinerary.

    🍹

Yes, it's her last sailing before her vacation. We were on the March 22nd sailing, same itinerary. Make sure you attend Captain Kate's question and answer session in the theater. Ours was on the last sea day and lasted an hour. The place was packed! Our friends will be on your cruise. Enjoy!

The noise issue caused us great stress!

We complained and they responded in a timely manner. They removed a number

or ceiling tiles and that seemed to work. It was am 11 day cruise and the first two nights

were brutal. After the maintenance  staff did their thing we had seven days with no issues,

The noise issue returned on the last two nights .

The noise seemed to be related to the sea swells. The room number was 8214 and it was

    a magic carpet sky suite.

We are on the 10 night leaving on March 22nd in Magic Carpet Suite 8210. We were on deck 10 a couple of years ago also in a MC and had horrendous noise when it the seas were rougher. Keeping our fingers crossed but we won't be surprised if it's the same.

  4. We stayed in one on the Beyond. The only thing I didn't like was that the bathroom opened into the room by the bed, not the hallway. I like to leave the bathroom door open at night for the night light. The balcony is deeper so it can fit chairs and a lounger. We booked an end MC suite in November. I wiil say that if you get one of those cabins you lose some privacy since people above you off to the side can see you if you are sitting by that window. The price difference between the MC and Sky suite makes it worth it. We never saw the Magic Carpet go up and down, It does that between 5:30pm and 6pm and we were on our way to dinner. I think as more people realize that there is no real in-room connecting door, these cabins are going to be booked more frequently just for the savings alone. I had to explain to our TA how these were configured.

We were on the Beyond in January in MC suite #10785 and had banging and creaking 3 out of the 7 nights. Our friends in an outside #3158 heard it every night. We will be on the Beyond next Sunday in an IV #11159 and I am hoping it won't be an issue.

Update: I am happy to report that we heard no out of the ordinary creaking or popping in our cabin bedroom. However; the bathroom floor creaked with every step, especially near the shower or toilet. Which is pretty much the whole floor LOL! Our cabin was on deck 11 midship.

Thanks for all the responses. I have gone back 3 or for times a day to check. I bid on three different classes. As of right now, they all still say "Pending", and I am able to modify or cancel my bid still. I think it is the waiting that is killing me. I guess I am not a very patient person. I will keep you all posted. Thanks again. Keep your fingers crossed.

Our cruise leaves in 8 days too and our bid is still pending with ability to change it. I had an alert that a charge was made on our credit card this morning. Unfortunately, it was my husband getting gas at Walmart. Darn, at least it wasn't a rejection, so there's still hope!

  7. We were on the Beyond two weeks ago. We had noise several nights, banging, creaking and knocking. We were in a magic carpet skysuite #10178. Our friends were in #3158. They heard loud banging almost every night.  It seems, according to our butler, that it is more noticeable in midship cabins.

  8. Keep in mind the dining times, since you are about a month out, he will be probably be assigned late dining which is around 8pm. We were on the Beyond two weeks ago and you couldn't walk up early and get a table. It was almost a full sailing with a huge group (around 400). We tried and were told to come back at 8:15.

You could consider a suite but would he be comfortable on the sofa bed? Just a few things to consider.

    BUT FIRST!

Let's try to end the evening. Post onboarding (the Meow jokes have run their course) and sail away which, from Ft. Lauderdale, is OK (sailing past Lady Liberty will always be a favorite) we dressed for dinner and headed to Luminae. Two important notes:

    1) As mentioned before, if you are in a Suite, you absolutely want to attend the first night dinner in Luminae. This is your chance to get to know the staff, select your table, and otherwise get comfortable in this space. We missed Luminae exactly once, on the Reflection, years ago, and it discombobulted the rest of the week. The restaturant staff (and WHAT a staff, by the way) is ready to set your preferences on night one, from choice of bread to water selection, there is something about the first night of the cruise which sets up your service for the rest of the trip.

    2) Danny Bold saves the day! OK! So, we were not fans of Kelly Hoppen and her design astetic at all UNTIL we sailed in the Penthouse on the Summit and used every one of the 17 closets and drawers. They prove to be impractical to everyone BUT us, because when you can drive to the Port you can bring everything but the cat. SO! After that experience, our entirely unjustified opinion of that design changed tremendously. Now, to really challenge things, along comes Danny Bold (this joke is from a popular YouTuber who walked by Le Voyage and says 'Danny Bold's restaurant is Michelle starred' and just gets better from there) who has a signature menu in Luminae consisting of an appetizer, main course and dessert which no one ever orders. The Chicken Tangine....Tagline? Tobuli? is notoriously known as being dry to the point of inedibility...and remeber, this is coming from the Celebrity Cheerleader. Good News; the Tagine has been replaced with a Duck Leg that is quite excellent. I have ordered it twice now - is it over-sauced? Absolutely; but this guy loves sauce. It is a piece of lovely, fall off the bone duck that is both sweet and savory and leave room from desert. I can't believe I am typing this, and this is liekly not for everyone, but it blows the previous offering out of the water.

We were on the Beyond last week and I agree with you that the duck leg was excellent! This coming from someone who never orders duck. The corn soup was a big miss. It is served over a couple of shrimp and tasted fishy.  My favorite dessert is the chocolate pill. It reminded me of those chocolate ice cube candies that melt in your mouth.

I did a search, but couldn't find the answer.  Is there a time limit on transferring a booking to a TA?  I have a cruise booked for the end of December, but final payment has been made.  Can I still do the transfer and how is it done?

We booked a cruise on 8/19/22 sailing on 10/21/22. A week later the price had dropped. We contacted our TA on 8/25 to transfer in hopes of at least getting some OBC from him because RCCL wouldn't do anything for us. He contacted RCCL, they transferred it to him and we authorized it. Best of all, we got $700 OBC. We originally booked thru RCCL directly and had paid in full instead of going thru our TA. Never again! Hope this helps, and it never hurts to ask!

    Hey everyone!

question. We are sailing out on 11/4 on the Independence of the Seas.
just looked at pricing and cabin availability and prices are so much lower than we paid.
min the past they have either given shipboard credit or upgrades to compensate for the difference.

so I called today and they are saying that since it’s past the final payment date they won’t do ANYTHING. I’m a bit annoyed. I’ve paid $500 more than what it’s going for now (for a lousy interior too).

I’m waiting on a supervisor call back. But is this the new norm post Covid?

This happened to us on our October 21st cruise. We had booked it the middle of August and as luck would have it, it went down in price a couple of weeks later. We transferred it to our TA and at least got $700 on board credit. That helped it sting a bit less!

    Hi Jim

I'm late to your live blog party.  I picked up a travel Aeropress to use on our Sept. Reflection cruise per your recommendation from our Sept 2019 Equinox cruise.  I like my coffee iced, daily, winter or summer.

I love my travel Aeropress and like my iced coffee too. I use the inverted method, it makes a stronger brew. Just google for instructions.

I agree I've never seen a card like that on the Edge or Apex. There is no Wine Bar on E-Class ships. If you look at the listed events on the card they're either in one of the MDRs or Eden Bar.

It was embarkation lunch in Luminae on the Edge April 3rd. It was a waiter or sommelier that showed it to us. I just took a picture.
