We are sailing on Infinity on 9/24. This will be our first Celebrity cruise. On Princess I always recommend the "souffles" and Fettuccine Alfredo. Does Celebrity have any "not to miss choices"?:)

We will be driving a rental car to the port and will need to return car on Sunday morning 9/24. Which Enterprise is closer to San Pedro? The one in downtown Long Beach or the one in Torrance? Thanks in advance.

Since you are cruising with Celebrity, your port will be the World Cruise Center in San Pedro. Enterprise and Hertz both have offices in San Pedro--except, as you noted, both are typically closed Sunday. You might want to contact them and ask if there is an alternative way to drop the car there (ie, leave the car, place keys in a drop box).
Otherwise, most agencies have offices in Long Beach. Downtown Long Beach is 6-8 miles from San Pedro. Long Beach Airport is approximately 16 miles away, depending on route (there are shorter routes, but off the freeways and require a slow, painful progression of surface streets and traffic signals at most every intersection). Hertz also has an office in Torrance at the Marriott--10 miles from the port and open until 1:00 pm on Sundays (a closer one in Lomita is closed Sundays). Avis and Budget have two locations in Torrance open until 2:00 pm on Sundays. It's sometimes easier to get to San Pedro from Torrance than from Long Beach--no bridges and harbor... Also, all of the rental car agencies are open virtually around the clock at LAX--20 miles from the port but with lots of transportation options to the port.
Good luck...
Thanks Bruin or such a thorough reply.

Celebrity sails from the World Cruise Center in San Pedro...across the harbor from Long Beach--roughly 6-8 miles away...Actually, Princess cruises from San Pedro as well--as do most cruise lines. Only Carnival sails from Long Beach--with the rare exception of some port stops by other Carnival-owned lines.
I didn't know there were two ports. I looked up Port of San Pedro and no car rental agencies are open on Sundays when we would need to return car. I guess we will have to drop off at Long Beach airport (assuming this is closest place open on Sunday) and take a cab from there to San Pedro. Thanks Bruin, you are always so helpful.

Long Beach is the port for LA with Princess. You could drop the car off at the Long Beach Airport and take a Uber, or Cab to the port. I would check with your car rental agency as the closest drop off point in the Long Beach port area
Where do Celebrity cruises depart from in Los Angeles?
-
Thanks, I have posted there also.

We will be returning a rental car prior to boarding cruise ship in Los Angeles. Is Long Beach the closest city to port? Is downtown Long Beach or the airport closer to port? As we are departing on a Sunday many downtown agencies are closed. Thanks.

We will be vacationing in San Diego prior to our cruise. We will need to return rental car prior to boarding ship. Is Long Beach the closest city to port? As we are departing on a Sunday, many rental agencies are closed. If Long Beach is the closest city, how far is airport from port? Thanks.

We are trying to use United "miles" and they don't offer flights from Long Beach in this program. :-(

Sunday morning,
-
We use a couple "ones" to tip room steward every morning that brings our morning coffee. I always carry at least $25 worth.

How long will it take a taxi to get from cruiseport in Los Angeles to LAX. I'm trying to make "air" reservations and wish to know how long I should plan for. Would a 1pm departure be "too soon". Thanks in advance.

Yes just call RS.
Thanks for the quick reply to all that replied.

Quick question:
I'm bringing the "allowed" 2 bottles of wine. Is a corkscrew available in room or must I bring one. Thanks in advance. :)

When we recently considered a BVE, we were told by Princess they are available to book 120 days in advance. It's available to a limited number of passengers (50?) so it could be soldout if waiting until closer to the BVE's date.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is BVE?

Thinking of booking a mini suite for a Panama cruise in January. Any advantage in choosing one of these two decks? Thanks in advance.

Stoopwafel's are currently being served on United Airlines morning flights as a "advertising promotion" I assume. Tasty!

We are sailing next week on NA. This will be our first HAL cruise. I know that on previous cruises on Princess I always liked their Fettuccine Alfredo and it could be ordered as an appetizer any day. Is there something "special" on NA? TIA
-
Yes, but most likely artificially flavored. I found the HAL lemonade to be a diuretic so I don't drink it before going ashore.

Thanks for the warning! :-)

On our recent Prinsendam cruise, lemonade was available most of the day in the Lido. Unfortunately, they ran out of it completely about half-way through the cruise, and switched to fruit punch.
Thanks so much for the responses!

Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Veendam, Zaandam, Prinsendam, Maasdam, and Volendam have self-serve laundries with ironing boards. The others do not.
We are booked on Nieuw Amsterdam 4/3 so I guess from your post, there is no "self-serve" laundry. We have only cruised on Princess in the past, so I guess this is a convenience I will have to do without! I will try the other suggestions if no iron is available. Thanks for the responses.
-
I don't believe we will need a "laundry package" on our 7 day cruise. However, I might like to iron a few items. Is a "free" ironing board available somewhere? Thanks.
-
Is this available as a beverage item in dining room and Lido? (I'm not a fan of iced tea.) Also, is it free?
-
I know that final payment for the 4/3/16 Western Carib. on NA is due on 1/19/16. We live in FL and are wondering if there would possibly be a price drop after that date? Has anyone done this? What should I look for? When? We are just looking for the best price a "local" can get. :)
Thanks for any help.
Didn't receive printout of "onboard charges"?
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
We sailed last month on Infinity and never were given a printout of charges to our cabin. I just happened to stop at desk and asked for one the day prior to end of cruise. When reviewing charges, I noticed an over charge of $30 on a shore excursion. I contacted the shore excursion desk at 5PM and a supervisor removed the charge. I thought I would see this "reversal" on final printout I'm accustomed to receiving on last evening. This never occurred and I had to wait until I got home to see if the "change" was made. This was our first Celebrity cruise and it seems like Princess and HAL have given us a printout prior to disembarking.
