Starting this thread for the Alaskan cruise sailing on 4/30/17.

We are husband and wife from San Diego, Ca.

It's our first time in Vancouver, and first time sailing for Alaska. We will be in Vancouver 2 days prior to sailing. Any tips on how to explore Vancouver, and any local tours proven to be reliable? Also, for our Alaskan ports?

Have you taken the train? Can you please give me some information? We will going on a cruise & Toulon is one of the ports. Many are suggesting that we can do the tour on our own, so I would like to know if the train is accessible and more practical than doing the shore excursion.
