  1. I read somewhere on one of the social sites that P&O had introduced a pay per minute service because of the number if complaints but at 65p per min is still expensive. Was told by a staff member that also they now get some free wifi on board so don't necessarily go searching for the wifi when on shore.

  2. Hi, When you're freedom dinning how do they manage with getting you're bottle back the next night? Thanks

    Catherine

I believe they put your cabin number on the bottle rather than your table number so doesn't matter where you sit, you just tell the wine waiter you have an opened bottle from the previous night.

  3. Is it worth going on the Northern lights tour or can you see them just as well from the ship?

Ah now there's a question.. We saw them from the ship and someone who did the trip said it was the most expensive cup of chocolate he had ever had as they saw nothing and as some of the crew who went were also forever taking pictures with their mobile phones the light pollution was awful. I have been told by others they did trip from ship and it was great. as there are not many companies who do this trip the ship usually books them out so getting a private trip can be difficult, same with the dog sledging. Can throughly recommend the ice hotel. As others have said layers layers layers are best, the only extra clothing we purchased were thermal vests, socks and for me thermal tights.

Have fun it's a great cruise.

  4. What package would you be able to use just to check your e mails and messages on while using an ipad? I am a bit confused (easy for me:D) as to what you can really use differing packages for?:)

£12.50 per 24 hour package. Apparently the £7.50 one doesn't allow emails,

  5. If you only register one credit card, which we always do, it doesn't matter who the OBC is allocated to the bills are collated as one. As your picking up the tab for 3 cabins I would just get a copy of your account on a daily basis so you can check no one is going mad on the spending and you then get a nasty surprise.

  6. Sorry to raise this again. I am finally Caribbean Tier after YEARS of cruising, and was looking forward to boarding earlier this time. Some little grunt in P and of lack-of-Customer -Services is now telling me I cannot.

To say that I am angry, upset, and on the verge of cancelling this and the next 2 cruises i have booked with them is the understatement of the century. Has anyone else had this experience?

What is the POINT of spending years getting to Caribbean Tier if you are treated like this?

Your eticket will state you are Caribbean tier and if you arrive before 1.00 pm you are given a grey alphabet card. As soon as Ligurean and Suites start boarding they begin to call these letters through so you still board before everyone else. You will still have time to drop your bags in the cabin and then make your way to the welcome onboard restaurant for drinks and snacks. Don't expect a full blown meal, it has not been available for Caribbean and above for ages, you will need to go to the Lido if your that hungry😀

  7. Just had this!

We've carried out a final nautical review and unfortunately, due to revised

under keel clearance restrictions, we are unable to maintain our call to

Crotone as planned. As a result, we have replaced the call with one to

Corigliano Calabro, located in the province of Consenza, Southern Italy.

If you have booked any shore excursions for Crotone, these will be cancelled

and a full refund issued. A shore excursion programme for Corigliano Calabro

will be available to book via your Cruise Personaliser shortly.

We are sorry that we have had to make this change and hope that it doesn't

cause too much disappointment. We can't wait to welcome you on-board.

I suppose at least the new port is also one I've never been to like Crotone.

They have made the same change to Oriana X611 going Sunday. Same email received.

  8. Hi all

Just left Ventura on Friday. We bought the 7.95 package for 1 day and only because it was our son's 21st birthday as he wanted to access Facebook.

It was for 24 hours timed from when you first logged in which I thought was a rip off as we all need to sleep! It only allowed access to Facebook, twitter and what's app, not emails or other websites. The speed was ok.

I think the prices are extortionate and would not have purchased if the day in question hadn't been a sea day.

    Judith

Ther is no way I will pay £7.95 for 24 hour Internet and no email. My family will just have to wait till we reach land and I will contact them then. Would rather pay that for a couple beer of beers in a wifi cafe or bar. I will be telling them when we go on the world cruise, no news is good news and they can just text me if necessary, as if it's urgent I would expect them to call the ship. I thought there £30 for 100 mins was bad enough but the new cost are totally ridiculous. Can't see many people paying those costs.

  9. Entertainment Manager make or break your cruise. How is that possible?

    David.

Because a good Cruise Director (sorry hate Entertainment Manager) can adapt to the clientele on board and weather conditions. On one cruise where weather was bad a show by the headliners was put on in the afternoon, nothing in Horizon but announced over PA system, another time on a very warm night the group that should have been in a lounge was moved outside to the deck. A bad Cruise Director cannot adapt.

Do please report back about this. Any USB cables that would be needed, file formats, do we need to change the TV input and how? etc..

We have 48 days on Arcadia coming up and we (meaning DW;)) will need our movie fix. We have worked out solutions for our tablets, but a full screen experience would be preferable.

If the tv is on the dressing table just plug USB stick and away you go. If doesn't recognise it immediately just switch TVs off and on again and select source from the side menu. Your films will come up on screen select the one you want and away you go. You can just plug the USB stick into the tv on the wall but it is very difficult as there is not much space and if you have one of the smaller USB sticks almost impossible, which is why I recommended a USB to USB cable once that's plugged in no more faffing about until you leave. It is sometimes prudent to also take a mini hdmi to standard hdmi cable in case it's an older tv. Provided your tablet is an android you can then watch your films on the tv also.

  11. Yes USB stick works ok, my films are MP4 format. One bit of advice balcony cabins have the tv fixed to the wall so can be difficult to plug USB stick in. We solved problem by hubby pulling it slightly off wall and as I had smaller hands plugging in a USB to USB extending cable then just unplugged that cable before we left. Hope that helps.

  12. Link is not open I think someone is taking the proverbial

The Baltic is frozen at that time of year.

I posted straight copy from google as link just took me to P&O web site listing current cruises. I was hoping someone had seen this on the TA web site before they were taken down. Like you I can't think were they will go for 50 nights in the frozen North and would you want to?

Just posted on Facebook is that pre registration for 2017/2018 is 21st March

  13. Just put X801 in Google and this came up.

Discover the exciting ports you can visit on Oriana cruise X801, P&O Cruises 50 night Baltic holiday from 06 January ...

Can't think where you could go round the Baltic for 50 nights and would you want to in January........ Now getting desperate to see their 2017/18 itineries, why are they the last. Looks like Aurora in not doing a full World Cruise either.
