  1. We're off tomorrow to the Caribbean! Some last minute information would be helpful. Can you leave your suit carrier with your other luggage for the porters to take or do you have to carry it on yourself? Also when we go to the beaches do we need to take our own beach towels or does the ship ( Ventura) provide them? Thank you for your help?

  2. Thank you for all your help. We've decided to go to St Nicholas Abbey first. We'll leave Bridgetown about 10 and catch a bus to Speightstown and then a minivan to Diamond Corner. There's then a kilometre walk to the Abbey. It will take about two hours in total. We're going to allow two to three hours for sightseeing and then walk to Diamond corner to catch the bus back to Speightstown, and then a taxi to the beach, Mullins or Paynes and then after some sunbathing and snorkeling we'll go back to the ship. It doesn't leave until 10 at night so it won't be a rush at the end. Any final advice would be appreciated.

  3. We are in Antigua early am(?8?) and leave early eve (?5?) . We would like to visit Nelson's Dockyard in the morning and then go to a beach, have lunch, and go back to the ship. Obviously with a chauffeured driven taxi this is easy but I would like to do it by a cheap bus. Is this possible?

  4. We arrive in Martinique early am (?8?) and leave pm (?4?). We would like to go to les salines. This would involve a ferry to Point au bout, hiring a car, driving to Les Salines, stopping for lunch on the way back (or maybe not), handing the car back in and then catching a ferry back to the ship. Is this easily doable?

  5. We will be in Grenada on a Sunday in late January. We plan to take a water taxi to Great Anse beach. Does it run on a Sunday. We would also like to 'do' something else. Is there a spice market open? Is there anything else to do close to the ship?

  6. On a Saturday in January we will be in St Lucia. I have booked a cruise to the Pitons which arrives back at the ship at 12.30. As the ship does not leave until early evening (?5 o.clock?) we would like to do something in the afternoon. Is there a nice beach nearby which could be reached with a short taxi ride?

  7. Blueberry, that was great information. Thank you. I think you mean Anse d'ilet on the west coast on the same promontory as pointe du bout. But there are also some anses near St Anne. We want to go to Les Salines near St Anne and it would be helpful to put the beach you went to in context.
