  1. Pretty much, straight and bend left.

The Naples cruise port is located in the historic center, facing the medieval Castel Nuovo. You can walk from the ship, through the Maritime Station, across the parking lot, and past a snack bar and smack into a 7 lane road Via Ammiraglio Ferdinando Action. There will be a very obvious cross walk in front of you. Cross the street and walk up a ramp alongside the castle which will take you to its entrance.

If that's your destination, turn left and go in. Another 1.5 blocks up the road (Via San Carlo) is Galleria Umberto I, across from the San Carlo Theater (18th-century Opera House). Just one block past that is Piazza del Plebiscito with equestrian statues fronting Basilica Reale Pontificia San Francesco da Paola which features Greek-style columns lining the facade of this Pantheon-style church filled with sculpture and paintings. The Royal Palace is across the street (as you head back towards the port).

Fab thank you so much! We will certainly visit these suggestions. Is the main shopping in the same area?

    Many thanks

  2. I believe the free shuttle terminates at Jolliete which is adjacent to the two shopping centres, Les Terraces and Les Docks. From there you can walk down Rue de la Republique which ends at the top of the Vieux Port and connects to Le Canebiere, one of the main shopping streets (about 20 minutes walk). Alternately, from Joliette you can either take the metro or a tram downtown.

This is exactly what I needed to know. Thank you so much for your help! It's appreciated

  3. Hello this has probably been asked loads so I do apologise. We're on symphony of the seas in July and want to go to the main city centre. Well take the free shuttle or bus 35 depending on ques. Once we get dropped off, how far is the walk and which direction? Also where do we catch it for going back to the ship?

The shopping centre is also a maybe...can anyone confirm that the free shuttle and bus 35 also stop here

    Many thanks

  4. Ok thats great thanks for the info. It'll be either a taxi or free shuttle. Am I right in saying the free shuttle stops at the shopping centre on its way to town?

Also if we do end up heading for the town...I believe it drops us at joliette...is it far to walk to the main city centre from there?

    Many thanks

  5. Hi there

We're cruising on the symphony of the seas in July and one of our stops is Marseille. We're 3 adults and want to get to the main city centre for a look around. Is the old port the city centre? If not how do we get to the main city centre from the old port? We plan on taking the free shuttle bus provided by the port, RC shuttle depending on the price or a taxi.

    Many thanks

  6. This has probably been asked and answered before but we dock in palma for the day and want to go through to the main city centre bit. What's the easiest & most cost effective way to get there using transport? were 3 adults sailing this july,

    Many thanks

  7. Hi there

Thank you so so much for your replies.

I will book our tickets online from the official website before we go.

Our trip through Royal Caribbean starts at 9am. They say 1hour 30mins drive and the bus drops us at st peters square. Do you think it's safe to book it for 11am? We plan on going straight there as we don't have too much time.

    Many thanks

  8. Hi there

As part of our cruise in July, were visiting Rome and have booked the Rome on our own tour which drops us off at the vatican.

We want to do skip the line at the vatican as I've heard the que's are very long.

If I pre-book our tickets from their official website will this allow us to skip the line? If so should we still expect a que in the pre booked line and how long roughly?

    Many thanks Claire

  9. Thank you all so so much for your replies. We've decided to go for the caves and Dunn's river falls. Can't wait.

We're going to book with RCC direct (for peace of mind) but wanted to hold off booking until April time. Will this be ok or will it be booked up by then? We don't leave until 2nd Aug

    Many thanks

  10. Wow you guys have been so helpful. Thank you so much! I've printed all of your ideas and packed it with our "holiday folder" so we can take it with us!

We've decided to book with royal Caribbean direct for the Jamaica trip and going for the caves then onto dunes river falls. I think we have to experience it as it's not everyday we'll be lucky to go on this type of holiday....once in a lifetime and all that but I'm getting the feeling I'm going to get hooked on cruising.

Would you advise to book the trip with RCC sooner rather than later? It's only just became available to book as cruising isn't until 2nd August so would we be safe to hold off till April time?

    Many thanks

  11. Hi there

We're new to cruising and going on our first one with RCCL on FOS in August.

One of our stops is Falmouth. We've had a look at excursions and fancied the following:

The caves then either Dunn's River Falls or the secret Falls

Which one would you recommend? We don't mind walking/water but I don't like the water too deep as I'm not a great swimmer. I prefer to be within my depth (I'm 5ft 1).

Also I've had quotes from private tour operators and theyr coming out the same price as the ship. Is it best booking with the ship direct? If so will we need to book it far in advance?

I'm sorry for all the questions 😊

  12. hi there

I wonder if you can help. We're booked to go on Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas in August 2nd. Western route.

We've never cruised before and so excited. We're 3 adults (mum, dad and daughter of 27)

Can anyone tell us what FOS is like? Ie food, entertainment?

Also can someone tell us when online check in opens and if we need to book shows in advance?

When we booked we got a pay for 2 get 3rd adult half price. This offer is still coming out cheaper thank the current all inclusive drinks offer but does anyone if RC has offers on to buy the drinks package at a lower rate?

    Many thanks

    Claire
