One lesson I already learned (well before I even get on board) was that just because someone is travelling solo does *not* mean that (s)he is single or available. Many solo travelers (not including myself) have spouses or partners back home, so we must exercise the same due diligence that we would at home. That being said, there are also many singles who travel with family, friends, and other groups.

Hi. I am a single guy turning 50 on the NCL Getaway 7/25/2015 sailing. This will be my first solo cruise where I'll be in a Studio cabin. Are there any single ladies looking for company on board?

I would love to take in a Marlins game...if only I had the time. I will go directly from FLL to the Port of Miami.

My embarkation ritual consists of making a stop at Guest Services to join the Vibe Beach Club and to purchase any excursions that I could not purchase online. This shall be immediately followed by lunch at O'Sheehan's Pub, and then by a quick visit to my stateroom. Right after Muster Drill I would then go to the gym.

Hi! I'm going on my first solo cruise aboard the Norwegian Getaway on 25 July 2015...to celebrate my 50th birthday. I cordially invite everyone aboard the Getaway, especially those in the Studios, to join me in celebrating this special occasion. I will spend my actual birthday in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Any suggestions on how to make this cruise a most memorable experience would be greatly appreciated.
