  1. George have a great lunch with your sister I'm all packed now well under on luggage hand is only 8.2KG and hold is 16.4KG  I think I may get the next size up in suitcases for my next holiday but it does help that the hold case only ways 2kg empty.

If don't catch you later will txt you in morning when I have checked in at MAN :D

Have a safe flight - may bump into you at Barcelona airport......

Well done on packing light - we are using every bit of our 23kg!

  2. Morning Marilyn

Wide awake at 5am this morning with HAVE I DONE THIS OR THAT

Busy day ahead already stripped the bed and sheets etc in the washing machine (I love to come home to clean fresh sheets) Suzy to the cattery at 10am, lunch with my Sister at the Piersland in Troon on my way to check my luggage into the Travelodge Glasgow Airport then drive back to Ayr to finish bits and bobs then on the 19:43 train to the Hotel, couple of beers in the bar and bed.

How is the master of the house this morning ?

I'm fine, thank you!! :D Geoffrey is getting better very slowly. He will need to bring his crutches on board. The consultant reckons it could take up to 4 months to get completely better - a more realistic estimate than the original 4 days!

  3. Thanks Donna - this is one of the great things I like about this site - all the great information before we sail.

George - are you flying into LCY on Thurs? If so, how long do you have between flights. We've got 30mins on the Fri - my only concern is they don't put my luggage on the BCN flight:eek:

Hi, we are on the same flights as George and have a 1 hour layover. LCY is a very small airport, so there should be no problem with your luggage.....

Have a safe trip and see you very soon!!

  4. I could not stop laughing, I have a few friends who work at Target, I have to see if I can copy and paste this into an email and send it along! Thank you Marilyn for the hardest laugh I have had in a while.

Also, finally got serious last night and started making packing piles, weeee, come on Thursday!

You're welcome! I have read this several times and it still makes me laugh out loud! :D:D

  5. Hope this gives you a smile - it did me!

    RETIRED HUSBAND

After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Target.

Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out.

Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women - she loves to browse.

Yesterday my dear wife received the following letter from the local Target:

    Dear Mrs. *****,

Over the past six months, your husband has caused quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and have been forced to ban both of you from the store.

Our complaints against your husband are listed below and are documented by our video

    surveillance cameras:

    1. June 15: He took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in other people's carts when they weren't looking.

    2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in House wares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

    3. July 7: He made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women's restroom.

    4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice,'Code 3 in Housewares.Get on it right away'. This caused the employee to leave her assigned station

and receive a reprimand from her Supervisor that in turn resulted with a union grievance, causing management to lose time and costing the company money. We don't have a Code 3.

    5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&Ms on layaway.

    6. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.

    7. August 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told the children shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department

    to which twenty children obliged.

    8. August 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?' EMTs were called.

    9. September 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose.

    10. September 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.

    11. October 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the 'Mission Impossible' theme.

    12. October 6: In the auto department, he practiced his 'Madonna look' using different sizes of funnels.

    13. October 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled 'PICK ME! PICK ME!'

    14. October 22: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed 'OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!'

    15. Took a box of condoms to the checkout clerk and asked where is the fitting room?

    And last, but not least:

    16. October 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, and then yelled very

loudly, 'Hey! There's no toilet paper in here.' One of the clerks passed out.

  6. Hi we made it to Philly and fly out to London in about another hour. Hopefully will be able to sleep as we have a full day tomorrow

Glad to hear you are taking such good care of Geoffrey ...a good wife Marilyn

Must go they are calling us to board....see younexf week

Welcome to the UK Sherry & Ivor! Just a little bit colder than you are used to at home? It will be 43 degrees F when you land - but it will be sunny.......:D

    Have a great time!

  7. Marilyn, good to hear Geoffrey is making progress. Lets hope those crutches are but a memory next week.

We'll just call you 'nurse.' Is the injection in the knee?

The injection is actually in the stomach - and it doesn't hurt me one bit!! It is because he can't tolerate aspirin, so needs injections for 6 weeks to avoid a DVT. It will be fun carrying the injections through airport security!

  8. So good to hear Marilyn that Geoffrey is making progress, very good news.

Well, very seriously Marilyn, if you need a hand with anything please let us know. I know we're not in the same hotel pre-cruise but as you know 'many hands make light work' and we can work something out on the 29th.

Thanks, Peter :) Larry & Suzy are in our hotel and said they would give us a hand if we needed it...... Hopefully we should be able to manage.

Just had my fun for the day, giving Geoffrey his nightly injection!

  9. Thanks for the terrible weather update... stupid me packed the umbrella, need it in our hand luggage....though in London I think it is a little warmer [not much] than you guys up north...hope so.

All packed ready to do our boarding passes in about 1 hr...didn't take more than 30 mins to pack.. everything was ready just needed to be transferred into the suitcases... I weighed Ivors he seems to be well under even mine so hope the scales are right.

    Safe travels......

  10. Good Morning

First of all Thank You for your Support on here and your many emails.

I am not going to sit back and let IGNORANT PEOPLE annoy me and keep me off the boards :p

I will as stated be at the D event every evening but will not roll out drunk (never have done)

I also do have a bar bill as I am fond of a few beers during the day and will be found in the champagne bar in the evening after the shows having a Rusty Nail or two.

I have Spent a Hell of a lot of money with RCCL over the last ten years to get to my Diamond plus status both on cruises and my onboard spending.

I am a very grounded person and have never tried to be something that I am not - Yes I can now afford to travel more and fly Business but this is due to the fact that I recently lost the two people in my life who I loved so much, and have no dependants to leave my estate.

    Once again THANK YOU ALL

I will be back on the boards as I do enjoy sharing cruise tips, daily life tales, the odd funny story.

Good on you, George! I for one, can vouch for the fact that not once was George "rolling drunk" any of the times we spent together in the D lounge on the vision. We all had a good laugh and a fun time and I hope this will be repeated on this cruise.......

Geoffrey is still in quite a lot of pain from his op, but is making slow progress. I do hope he will be a lot better by the time we leave for the cruise.

I haven't even thought about what to take never mind starting packing but I must start very soon otherwise it will be too late!!

  11. Good morning all. Well I decided to outsmart my body and took an excedrin pm. Needed to time it right so Iwould not fall asleep too early and would sleept till morning.

I took only one as I figured it would work. Skipped the painkiller as it was not too bad. So I am watchig the BigBang Theory that I recorded. All of a sudden the credits are going across the screen. Well there is about a 20 minute nap.

Take the excedrin pm and about midnight shut the tv. Guess my body outsmarted me! 3:30 I am awake! Took a painkiller and went back to sleep.

I guess the saying, " you can't fool mother nature" is correct......

Go in a few hours to the doctor for stays and then right into therapy fir the first time. I am not seeing this as a pretty picture at all. More like a horror film with a lot of torture! Well I only have one thing to say.......

    15. More days to sail away

    Joyce

Joyce, hope your therapy goes OK and that the pain will subside. Not being able to sleep is a torture in itself, so I hope you can get some sleep tonight..... xx
