We are arriving on a Sunday as well (NCL Dawn) this week!!
There is no ferry service to St. George on Sundays.

Yes, as Biker said...as long as you dry off first you will be fine. My DH wears his swim trunks and a tee all the time in Bermuda. :)
Excellent! Thank you both! Interesting about the camo clothes. We're not a camo family, except for the bright pink camo running shorts my DD has. Never thought about it being an issue in other countries.
It's nice to know ahead of time, it's important to respect the traditions native to the places we visit

I know you are reading this review but I just want to remind you that you should always say "Good Morning" or "Good Afternoon" when getting on the busses or ferry. Then ask them to let you know where you need to get off. Also be sure you have swimsuit cover ups that look like regular clothing. I can't imagine how with all Kim's research, she missed those very important facts. Believe me, after 5 trips to Bermuda (Dawn x2, Star x1, Splendor x1(diverted from St John, NB) and Breakaway x1) - it will make all the difference in the help you get from the locals. Be sure to mention it on your roll call so others will know. It is usually brought up often on the Bermuda board but it never hurts to pass along that information. Our next trip to Bermuda will be on the Dawn in Oct 2016. We plan to rent a snorkel sailboat on Sunday to get around the Sunday transportation problems. We have used both Jessie James snorkel (pontoon boat) and "Sail Bermuda" (sailboat) http://www.sailbermuda.com in the past. We highly recommend either.
Thank you for the information. My daughter and I usually wear a sundress over our swim suits, but my son usually wears his swim trunks (they go to his knee) and a T shirt. Do you think that would be an issue with the natives?

We're leaving for Bermuda on the Dawn on FRIDAY!!! This review is so timely. I adopted your 'envelope system', a great idea that I'd never thought of.
But I do have two questions:
In addition to the envelopes of cash that you bring with you for your planned activities, do you bring any "emergency cash" in case the whole plan goes awry? If so, how much?
Second: do the slot machines on board take coins or do you swipe your card? If they do take cash, do you bring your own coins on board or convert paper currency into coin at the casino?
Thanks in advance

Jenesaisquoi,
Thank you for sending the documents to me, it was helpful. I'm an uber-planner too, so it was nice to compare my research to yours

That's the Dawn. We're looking for the Breakaway.
(Thank you for giving me an excuse to post. I wanted to subscribe, but Thread Tools doesn't work on my iPad.)
Oops! So sorry. I read your post pre-coffee and for some reason my un-caffeinated brain thought BA meant Boston, not Breakaway!
Mondays! Ugh!!

I found another thread here that has some.

This link shows what's going on at the dockyard, there's a lot of kid centered activities on Sundays and they are either free or $5.
-
You might want to check out this link about the Dockyard, especially if you are going to be there on a Sunday, there's a lot to do for little ones.

We're on the June 26th sailing and I would love a copy, we've got some down time between shore excursions that I am looking for ideas to fill.

Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to share with us, I really appreciate it

We did not eat at the MDR on night 1. And I do not recall seeing it on the menu. There was lobster pasta in the MDR and Garden Cafe and they also had a sea food themed night with lobster and shrimp rice/paella in the Garden Cafe.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question! Have a great day!

Off the Dawn on May 1. No, reservations were not needed, it was quite popular and food had certainly improved. Having said that, food is very subjective so you are going to have to see for yourself.:) Enjoy.
Thank you! I also contacted NCL directly and they said that we could make reservations if we wanted to, but we had to do it on the ship.
Since you just cruised the Dawn, was the first night the lobster tail in the MDR?
-
If I'm reading the news releases correctly, the Bamboo restaurant on the Dawn is now complimentary.
When I went on to my NCL explore and plan, Bamboo wasn't listed under the dining options, so I'm wondering, if one wants to eat there, do you need a reservation?
Anyone traveling on the Dawn before June 26? Would love any info.

It's called Sweet P, and they have a facebook page, don't know if it will have the information you need, I can't access FB from work so I couldn't check it.
Thanks for asking the question, I didn't even know they did a high tea.
-
thank you, sand in my shoes, those are great ideas
We're doing the Dolphin encounter at 2:30, since we're docking at 11:00, I don't want to stray too far from the Dockyard.
-
We're arriving in Bermuda at 11:00 on Sunday, and we have an shore excursion booked for 2:30
The day we leave we have a shore excursion booked at 11:30
What's near the Dockyard to explore that could be completed within 2 - 2.5 hours?
Any recommendations for a walking route that would bring us past some of the beautiful scenery?
Thanks in advance for your help!

If you can handle one more request, I would love to get copies of your documents sabramo102@aol.com. First trip to Bermuda, leaving on the Dawn on June 26, 2015. Just off the Breakaway on Sunday - loved the ship and all the entertainment options!
Thanks!
CTSandy I'm on that sailing date too! Perhaps I'll see you on the Roll Call. Hoping there's enough of us to schedule a Meet and Greet

A second "yes please" to dailies and menus.
We're cruising her for the first time on June 26th (56 days whoot!!)
-
we're going on that cruise with a 9 year old and a 12 year old at the end of June. I think there might be too much to do for the time in port. The first day isn't a full day and neither is the last day.
We're planning the dolphin encounter, there's a place where you can rent boats and jet skis etc, the Crystal Caves and Horseshoe bay beach. There's also a free bonfire and DJ at Snorkel Park beach.
There's hiking and historical sites as well.
My plan to be cost effective is to limit the amount of meals we eat on the island, going back to the ship for lunch and dinner, and buying a transportation pass versus taking taxis or cruise excursions (with the exception of the dolphin encounter)

thank you both for taking the time to respond back to my question. It sounds like Somerset is the way to go

I've read that it's possible to rent a Boston Whaler in Bermuda. Was wondering if anyone here has done that and if so what was your experience with it. We're seasoned boat owners and I think DH would rather do the driving himself, LOL!
Thanks in advance

Now I'm starting to second guess myself. I just downloaded the 2015 summer ferry schedule from here
and I believe the ferry to St. George is the Orange ferry. I don't see Sunday service.
