  1. We just got off the Sun in room 1202. We loved the size of the room and the additional balcony space. The cabin reminded us, size wise of the mini's we've stayed in the past. The views were amazing from the balcony. We've also cruised afts and we found that there was more wind in the front, but partly due to a couple of days of rough weather. Having the cabin right beside the Owner's Suite makes your balcony even more fun....expensive real estate up there. ;)

A couple of times people from the observation deck spoke to us when we were on the balcony, but most of the time no one was there. We usually noticed more people when we were pulling in to port and at sail away.

One night I noticed faint music from the observation lounge, but nothing that kept us awake. Most evenings we didn't hear anything above us.

    Overall a great cabin!!:)

  2. DebJ14,

Thanks so much for the information! We've been to Cozumel several times but never done an all-inclusive there. Since we're paying for food as well, I was hoping there would be a couple options that would work. We're very excited and it seems like a beautiful beach to visit. I have gf dining cards that I'll bring again with me as well. We had the same thing happen to us out our local restaurant before Christmas. It sounds like your reaction to gluten is very similar to mine.

    Thanks again for your help!

  3. My son was just diagnosed in September, after we had made this reservation. He loves to cruise! We cruise with neighbors and there are always many boys his age in our group.

My concern is that he will be going around the ship with his buddies who will be able to eat anywhere as well as eat all of the forbidden goodies like pizza.

I immediately had the travel agent register him as needing gluten-free dining. Of course everyone says that it isn't a problem in the MDR and that you can ask at other venues to see what’s available. I just know how very embarrassed my son feels about the extra work it takes on his behalf. I’m hoping to make his time on board easy as he will be going around the ship on his own.

So...I plan to take notes and video my efforts on board the Oasis. I plan to post them so that everyone can know the "teen/child" perspective when they travel with their GF kids. I see so many posts about adults or children who have counselors or parents with them at all times but not many posts for the "tween" group.

I've done a lot of work already by calling the cruise line direct and speaking to a special needs representative. Not bad, but not very enlightening. I was told that I had to check at each food station and talk with the Food Managers. I've also called Johnny Rockets headquarters about their food.

I’ll post more as I put it together.

    Ampere,

We're gf as well and we love to cruise! We look forward to your review when you get home. We hope you have a wonderful gf vacation!!:)
