  1. We did use ShoreExcursioneer for the excursion to the Bacalar Lagoon (aka Seven Colors Lagoon) and we did enjoy it and were pleased with the service provided by the driver and guide. The walk from the port to the meeting point was a little longer than expected - directions were acurate, but I think I would pay for the cab ride to the meeting place if we did it again. At no time did we feel unsafe or uncertain about being where we were. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The only downside, as with many of the excursions on the mainland, was the time devoted driving to and from the site was longer than the time spent at the site. That being said, we were told before leaving the starting point that we would be heading back in plenty of time to be back at the port. The guide was very good about letting us know how much time we had left before needing to start back. We also used ShoreExcursioneer for the Jeep excursion we took in Cozumel. This particular company's directions were not as clear as the other, but once we were placed with our guide everything was fine, friendly, professional, accommodating and always aware of the time and ship's time. Hope this helps.

That helps a lot. Thank you for taking the time to let me know how it went!

  2. We have reserved an excursion through ShoreExcursioneer.com to go to Bacalar Lagoon (Costa Maya Seven Colors of Blue Lagoon Excursion) this coming May. Cost of $54.99 per person. 5 hours. Transportation provided. Lunch provided. Use of Blue Lagoon Resort facilities and a kayak tour if desired. Not sure when you are cruising, if after May, I can give you a review.

Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me how this excursion went with ShoreExcursioneer, I will be going to Costa Maya next year and I think I would really enjoy going to see this lagoon. It sounds beautiful. I booked an excursion with this company recently in Progesso and it was terrible so I hesitant to use them again. Did you enjoy this excursion? Were you concerned at all about getting back to the ship n time?

Thank you in advance for your comments on this.

  3. So WHAT is the the first slot time for this port and ship?

So, This is for New Orleans/Carnival Triumph.

The official check in/boarding pass acceptance person told me that it varies at different times of the year. He said at this time of the year it is usually around 11:00am. Other times of the year it might be 10:00 or 10:30.

He also told me that they usually have the terminal doors open early in the morning. They might have the doors open anywhere from about 9:00 to 9:30am on. He said If I get there around 10:00am, they will definitely be open and I will be able to enter and go sit my happy self in the FTTF section and wait an hour or so until I can get on the ship.

  4. Thank you for confirming what I have been saying all along.

    You're welcome! :D

I am sailing in two weeks (Sept. 2) I can't wait! And now I know I can get there when I want to and sit and wait and be one of the first people on--so excited!!

What puzzles me is why the Carnival people won't come out and confirm this for you and tell you that you can get there at the earliest time slot regardless of your arrival appointment time. Even when I emailed icare@carnival.com, they wouldn't come right out and say it. They kept telling me "we suggest you get there at your scheduled time", even though I told them I had FTTF. That is a huge benefit of the FTTF pass.

Whatever--at least now i know and I am happy and ready to cruise!:ship:

  5. Same ?? over and over , arrive at any time.

Yep--I had to hear it first hand, so I went to the port (New Orleans) this past Saturday while the ship was in and asked the check in people. They confirmed it for me...If you have FTTF, you can head into the terminal as early as the first time slot or whenever they open the terminal door. From there, you wait until they start boarding the ship!

  6. Thanks! I booked my cruise a long time ago and Carnival and bought FTTF. Even though I think I completely checked in online with the earliest time slot way back then, Carnival is telling me , "no, you didn't fill in and save your check in time"

So now I am stuck with an 11:00 arrival appointment. I love getting there early and being one of the first people on the ship and heading to the Lido deck for lunch with no lines. Glad I have FTTF, I would hate to start off on a low note and board later than I want to after paying for FTTF.

Cruising out of New Orleans two weeks. Can't wait!!

  7. I agree that the adults deserve a quiet area for relaxing. This is our first cruise and I hope little kids don't make it impossible to go swimming

trust me--the kids WILL make it impossible. I have been on many carnival cruises and the kids not only take over the pools, but the hot tubs too. Don't plan on any quality swim/pool time. If you want to go to a nice big pool, best thing to do is book an all inclusive resort excursion with a nice pool at one of your stops.
