  1. Yay I scored! Too bad I only got 1 100 one (not enough extra money to get more) but between this and the kroger ones I got we have 250 that we only spent 200 for and each get 40 from the casino too :)

I need to check Verizon early in the morning. I keep missing these

  2. Is this standard? All solos being put at a table together for MDR? I was worried I'd be stuck with families and life-long friends which is why I didn't go.

I don't know if it's standard and it was my experience on my solo cruise. I did set dining time. YMMV for any time dining.

  3. I'd love to talk to a travel agent, but can't find any near me.

Call the cruise lines direct. They have staff to help you plan.

Carnival does pretty good discounts for Military. I can't speak for NCL.

Carnival and NCL cruise out of Baltimore.

  4. If you get a Spa balcony on Splendor Id make sure its on the panorama deck and not the spa deck. The balcony rooms on the spa deck are not covered, which allows people to look and see you from the deck above.

Thank you for the pic and I am booked on Panorama.

  5. A question for you solo cruisers, what type of cabin do you usually book? I realize there are certain things that can determine this but I was just wondering. I am single and my daughter was usually my travel partner but she has a young son now and eventually I think I may be cruising solo. We most often booked a balcony cabin but I am thinking if I book this type of cabin as a solo I would become a hermit on a ship full of people. What do you choose?

I had a balcony on my first cruise, my only solo because there was a good price for ex military. I had a week of vacation time to use or loose so I went with it.

You'll only be a hermit if you choose to.

Get out there and have fun

  6. I had a spa balcony on my last Breeze cruise and have one next month on Splendor - really looking forward to it.

Gordon, what cabin are you in? I have booked 1032 for Dec and look forward to hearing your thoughts on the cabin.

    Enjoy your cruise.

As for 'Never going back' My first cruise was with a balcony cabin. I dont know if I could do without now.

Good thing I don't get to cruise often

  7. My first solo cruise was my first ever cruise. I had no idea what to expect.

The group I was seated with was all solo cruisers and we had a wonderful time sharing stories.

My favorite story is meeting a lady from Falls Church VA (I was living in Bethesda MD),also sailing solo. I sat down at one of the pool bars and we started a conversation. Nothing like traveling thousands of miles to meet someone from close to home.

Go with no expectations and a willingness to be pleasantly surprised.
