These little short cruises on older Carnival ships tend not to attract a lot of experienced CC posters and I noticed about a week ago we had no roll call, so I posted one that no one has bothered to replied to, so THANKS FOR NOTHING, fellow cruisers. I guess we can forget about a cabin crawl to show off my Cloud 9 Spa balcony like a rich person who would ever spend actual cash money to live in the high rent district.

I've flown first class a few times in my life but I can 100% assure you I have never paid the actual price. Typically I have gotten it when flying free / standby on employee passes and I think I may possibly have paid a gate upgrade price once of super cheap when they were peddling it on the PA, like less than $50. I do like to pay for the Big Front Seat if it's available when I fly Spirit, and in fact that's the main reason I occasionally seek them out specifically.  It is a relatively small upcharge to give me the only thing I actually want in First Class, which is the big seat.

I'm a super cheapo and I am willing to pay a tiny premium charge for a huge upgrade but otherwise I am comfortable off with the huddled masses for coach / steerage fares, which are usually still more than I wanted to pay. 😆

I have no ego or social mobility desires so buying better stuff just to prove I can holds no appeal whatsoever. That's also why we still mostly cruise Carnival, including the old ships when they suit our needs.

Hi, Kmom! My husband and I will be on this cruise with you and I'd love to ooh and aah over your Spa 9 balcony cabin! I am the same way with only willing to pay a small premium for a big upgrade so this cruise we will be in an ocean view on deck 1, which was a surprise upgrade after our first choice cabin (a porthole) was probably blocked off for the COVID wing. This will be our first west coast cruise so we are excited about all the new ports. Hope we see you around the ship!

Just book independent excursions.  They are normally cheaper, and also in a van instead of possibly a bus.  Go to the ports of call section on CC to do your research.

Normally I would book independent excursions, but with so many last minute itinerary changes it's a much bigger risk than normal. I haven't seen many operators with cancellation policies that include your ship not making it to port. At least with Carnival you won't pay for excursions in ports the ship misses. I have been doing my research, thank you.

  3. I'll be on the Horizon on the 30th. We still don't have any excursion options except for the 10 airport transfers in Miami showing up on the excursion page. I understand the need to change the itinerary, but I wish they had excursion options open by now. It's been a few days and we still haven't gotten refunds for excursions in the old ports and can't book any in the new ports yet.

  4. My fiance and I wanted to get married on an island during a cruise with our family. Unfortunately, the wedding package prices just would not fit our budget. What we are ending up doing is getting married in Fort Lauderdale on the beach the day before the cruise then bringing our family on the cruise with us. We are using Small Miami Weddings as our vendor and so far I am very happy with their service. They have some awesome packages that I think are reasonably priced. They are also much quicker to reply to phone calls or emails than Carnival or TWE. Another bonus was it's a lot simpler to get married in Florida than internationally.

  5. I was able to find out online. And also know you can get it in any Florida county and get married anywhere in the state of Florida so a Brevard county license would work for you.

Awesome! Thanks for the information. I'm getting married in Fort Lauderdale and this will be a huge help!

  6. My fiance and I are looking into Carnival for our wedding in May 2016. We have picked our destination and sailing out and are just trying to get more information on the pricing before booking. We would like to go with the Island Breeze package on Grand Turk but I just realized that it doesn't mention anywhere that chairs will be provided for our guests. Then I saw that it mentioned in the fine print that each guest is an additional cost. Does anyone know if chairs are provided and what the cost per guest is for the Island Breeze package? I'm planning to call again tomorrow, but just wanted to see if anyone on here had any additional information. So far this thread has been incredibly valuable. Thanks!
