The Loyalty and Events Coordinator can work magic, but I don't think she had anything to do with your ability to connect all of your Apple devices to the Medallion Net.
You had mentioned that you spoke to someone that was connected (post #15). Were you able to get more information from them (How did they do it? When did they use their devices? etc).
I doubt Princess will ever acknowledge that their internet provider does not work well in Alaska (or Greenland).
Did you return to the Internet Manager and ask what the "real" problem was? Is Princess prorating any passengers for non-service Medallion Net days?
Thanks for getting back to us. Sorry you seem to be the only one that had this issue (from all the other posters that were able to connect).
I’ll see what tomorrow brings. Right now, email works; I can log into icloud.com but can’t read email or my calendar there ( or anything else); also iMessage is not working.

I agree. We just left Ketchikan. Back on Medallionnet.
And just like magic, everything is working.
Maybe my talk with the Princess Loyalty Ambassador had an effect
I guess spoke too soon. Now that we are away from the port, it stopped working.
I'll see what happens w(en we get close to Juneau in the morning

Sounds to me like he just didn't want to spend the time to determine what the problem was. I really can't believe they would block iMail and iMessages. They use VERY little data and no more than Gmail or WhatsApp. I could understand if they blocked YouTube or Netflix. Video is a data hog.

Not so for us in May 2022 on Discovery Vancouver to Ketchikan to Seattle. Slow, disruptive service near Vancouver, otherwise all worked fine. Sent, received emails, photos, used messenger.
messenger or Apple Messages (ie, iMessages)?

My Last cruise on the Majestic was in March 2022, and all of these services worked with the medallion net connected internet. These also worked on the Crown Last month.
If you mean on the stand alone Medallion net without paying for the internet, I would agree that these will not work. If you re saying that you did have an internet package and these did not work, that would be a total surprise and very concerning not to be able to text someone.
We paid for each device. So a total of 4 devices on medallionnet.
And the internet mgr insisted that it can’t work.
And later my wife talked with someone that had it working.
So I don’t understand what is different.
Very frustrating when the “help desk” is not.

Just disembarked the Ruby (Alaska) this morning. I sent and received iMessages to people at home most days. Sending pictures is difficult but simple messages worked great. Also iMessaged friends onboard. Received mail with no problems either. Icloud photos (upload from phone then to ipad) was incredibly slow because the wifi (not Internet) is just not strong enough. They did load eventually. Not sure why you were told these apple services would not work. Sounds like a bunch of hooey. Fyi…i could not send group texts or send texts to android phones.
So you were on the New MedallionNet? We have two iPhones and two iPads. None work

As a note, also tried to use the airmail app on my iPad to access the emails. Did not work

Did you talk to anyone on board about this because I can't see any reason why the would do that.
Yes. Discussed with Toar, the onboard “internet manager”. He stated that Apple's services would generate too much of a load on the Princess network.
So you can’t even web to icloud.com. apple.com is accessible though.
And vpn is also blocked.
-
Princess networking (MedallionNet) is configured to disallow access to Apple's email, iMessages, And iCloud.com. 🤢
So if you are cruising with Princess you will not be able to access any of those services until you have access to land services.
Tested on the Majestic Princess Alaska cruise.
(They do allow access to What’s App and gmail)

A lot of people seem to believe this offer was an offer via a move up bid.
I believe you are just paying the difference for an upgrade. This is the reason you have to be careful about your perks. They will not necessary come with the new cabin. You should be able to get the perks that are in the prevailing rate of the cabin you are purchasing. (You may need to purchase the Indulge package)
Assuming that it is not a move up bid, you should get the CC points associate with your upgraded category.I believe that the suite would not necessarily be Aqua. So make sure what the resultant benefits are

One of the pluses we will always appreciate with Princess is that our cabins are ready upon boarding so we headed straight to our new home for the next 15 days, C704. The crew was still running around restocking cabins so we only stayed long enough to use the restroom and dropped off our carry on bags.

Appreciate the report. We are going to be in the same cabin you were in for the full transit next month.

This was a free event before. It was nice but not when you have to pay. There are plenty of opportunities to have photos taken throughout the cruise. Yes there is a different menu but still not worth it. Use the money for something else.

Have you tried hotels.com, trivago, expedia etc.
Looking for reccomendations. And most don't show availability for Aug 2016.
Had not heard of trivago before. Thanks

We will be in Copenhagen for 4 days next August before our cruise, and are looking for a hotel. Heard about the Absalon, but they are already booked. It would have been about $180(US) per night including breakfast. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Get out the dancing shoes.[emoji133]
I would expect a full refund plus there are always other offers for cruises on Celebrity and other cruise lines.
Happy cruising [emoji305][emoji568][emoji631][emoji274]
Just talked with James in corporate. He said that they still have not received anything that indicates the ship has been chartered by corporations.
We have 5 cruises booked with Celebrity and if they think they can just cancel the Sep 11 and Sep 18th cruises with a "tough luck" statement, we will have the reconsider those as well as the Royal cruises we have booked.
Apple mail, iMessage, iCloud users. Beware of Princess MedallionNet
