  1. We are currently booked on Symphony of the seas in a suite guarantee, sailing in December. Final payment is due tomorrow, and we are struggling to decide if we want to stay in a suite or just do a balcony to save the money (I am in between jobs right now). The suite price we have booked is amazing, we got a great deal and now suite prices are way higher. But the balcony is $2,300 cheaper and since I am in between jobs it would be good to save that money. I was wondering if I would be able to downgrade to a balcony after final payment and get a refund for the difference if we decide we want to save the money after final payment if it takes me a while to find a new job, or if upgrading is the only option.

  2. Hi!

This is probably a long shot, I’m trying to get some insight on what room/room categories are assigned to Muster Station B13 on Voyager of the seas! We have a WS-GTY but don’t have our room assignment yet, and I’m getting excited to see what suite category we get. It says we are on Deck 10, muster station B13, suite class. There is only 3 Junior Suites left on Deck 10, a bunch of Grand Suites, a bunch of Owner’s Suites, and one Royal Suite.

My fingers are crossed for an Owner’s Suite or Royal Suite, but we will see!

Over 95% of chance you will be assigned to JS based on previous experience.

If JS is already on guarantee status, then it increases your chance for WS to be upgraded to higher categories. Wish you will win the lottery!

Thank you so much for your response! I will be happy with a JS but it would be awesome to have something higher!

  4. We bought a suite guarantee for 2 of our upcoming cruises this year on Voyager of the Seas. The category we have listed on our confirmation is WS-GTY. We have only had JS-GTY in the past, so we didn’t have the possibility to be in a better suite.

How likely are we to get something better than a Junior suite? Do they give upgrades to RoyalUp offers first and assign their rooms before assigning GTY rooms so that they can possibly make money off of the upgrade? I get that from a business perspective, but wouldn’t be so nice to loyal guests lol

Have you ever personally had a WS-GTY and gotten something better than a JS? When I looked at available rooms on our cruises, one of them has almost every single Grand Suite and Owners Suite still available, but I can’t check how many JS available because they are only offering JS guarantees. The other sailing, there are more JS available and only about 5 or so of the owners suites and 5 or so of Grand suites available, so I’m expecting a JS for that one which I’m totally fine with!

    Thanks so much!

  5. When you are going on a closed loop cruise, do you need to clear customs/border patrol when returning to the same port after the cruise is finished?

My husband isn’t a US Citizen, but his green card application is processing. He has an Advanced Parole Travel Authorization document, but we learned that if we leave the country he could be denied re-entry. I was wondering how customs work when you return on a closed loop cruise to the same port. Do they check your passport/visa as you exit the ship, or only when you board the ship? Does it matter if you leave the country or not?

We are wanting to plan a Hawaii cruise for Christmas/New Years, and it wouldn’t leave the country, it would just stop at different Hawaiian islands. Would he need to clear customs when returning, and possibly be denied re-entry, or do they not check because you didn’t exit the country?

I have been on multiple cruises before, but it’s been 2 years and I can’t seem to remember how it works.

    Thanks so much!

  6. Hi there!

We are leaving on our Anthem of the Seas honeymoon cruise on Thursday, and I had a few questions about the activities onboard.

What activities are free? What activities are an extra charge? What other things may I be spending money onboard besides drinks and specialty restuarants?

Specifically, how do you sign up for circus school? My husband and I are VERY interested in signing up, but I know spots are limited and are first come first serve, so how do we sign up right away onboard?

    Thanks everyone!

    :)
