Yes, had to prepay for our April 2020 reservations as well.

Following. Jealous, was supposed to be on this cruise :(

Agree with the above consensus of Half Moon Cay. It's a perfectly beautiful beach!
In Nassau, we generally get a day pass with British Colonial Hilton. For $60 you get a lovely pool (towels and loungers included), a close stretch of beach, (within walking distance of the ship), and $40 voucher for food and beverages. It's a lovely, peaceful facility. You are not bothered by vendors. To us, it's well worth the money!
I've done this twice and will be doing it again next week. Love it here. Easy, close and convenient!

Don't give up hope. I always check up until I cruise. I checked again today for my Feb. 11th cruise and my price dropped from $904pp to $824! I called and now have a cabin credit of $160!

My daughter and I were in a spa cabin in June and loved the spa perks. We made time every night after dinner to head up to the Thallasotherapy Pool every night in our robes before heading out to the shows etc.. That alone was worth it to us! She received a $50 spa gift card for her birthday and used that one evening towards the end of the cruise when they offered some special pricing. You will enjoy it!

I used a few on my cruise this past June. I just went to the Guest Services desk when it wasn't crowded and they were added to my S&S card. I could see the credits on the tv folio. Very easy to use.

I was in spa cabin 1029 on the Splendor in June. It is the quietest part of the ship! We heard zero noise. Keep in mind when you want to head to the spa, just come out your door and head directly towards the front of the ship, there is a glass elevator hidden there that will take you straight up into the spa. My daughter and I would come back from dinner, put on our bathing suits and robes and head straight up to the Thalassotherapy pool! You will enjoy your room :)

I saw that you went to Catalina Island. We have booked the same excursion for July. Was wondering how much the beer was costing on the island and if we should try to get some at the port to take over with us. Also, did you snorkel and was it worth taking equipment for? Thanks
We actually didn't drink anything but the free punch when we got off the ferry. I'm sorry we didn't look at the prices. It's a very small, private but beautiful beach. We rented the Snorkle equipment for about $10 a piece. There were a lot of fish swimming around. The water drops off pretty quick once you get in. We ventured out past the ropes. There were some boats anchored not far off shore with people snorkeling.

We just returned yesterday from an 8 day on the Splendor. This was cruise 6 with Carnival and I have yet to get a ship with the 2.0 upgrade. I didn't miss it though, because I was happy with all it had to offer! You'll have a great time :)

Okay, they do not have Guys on the Splendor - but do they have the chicken strips that the Fantasy class ships have where they serve the hot dogs and regular burgers?
If so, then it is not a bad trade-off.
Just got off the Splendor and no, they did not have the chicken strips on the Lido Grill this time around.

We just got back yesterday and did the Catalina Island Beach excursion. I loved it, but I'm a beach person.

Have fun!

We booked this excursion too-there are six of us. We had such a great catamaran excursion in St. Thomas we hoped it would be similar!
I emailed Carnival Excursions to see what company runs it. Ive seen a few bad reviews on one. I may cancel if it's the one with not so hot reviews.

Thanks for the review! We'll be on the Splendor in two weeks!! 6/4
Us too! Can't wait :D

:confused:o
What are they listed under?
I'm so sorry! I'm just seeing your post now. I have to figure out how to get notifications somehow.
They are under your "Verizon Rewards" on your Verizon Wireless online page. They normally offer $100 card for $90 or $500 card for $450. I figure every dollar counts, so why not do it.
Yes, I believe use them to pay on your onboard account!

Ordered some last week for my MIL and she got them in about 5 days. Came by UPS. Must sign for them, so be ready.
Thanks for the heads up! I will let my daughter know to look out for them :)

I'm so glad I was able to help y'all out!! It's the little things in life, right!? Every other time I saw someone post and I went on..they were gone! I actually just had logged on to check my Verizon Acct and happened to check. Happy cruising to you all!
-
Awesome! I was so happy....I hope I get it before I leave in 2 weeks :)

It is a thread on here about Verizon and Carnival Gift Cards. When I'm ready to buy the gc, I subscribe to that thread. Somebody always post on there when the gc are available on Verizon Smart Reward website. You have to act fast because the gc always sell out in a matter of minutes to hours.
They were available again this morning. I finally got mine!

We are cruising on the Splendor on 6/4 and my boarding info has "Optional Shore Excursion to Santo Domingo" listed next to our La Romana port stop. I called Carnival and even THEY didn't know what that meant. She told me to email Carnival Excursions. When I log onto the hub, and look at the excursions for that day, it only lists the La Romana ones. Hmmm.... (excuse the spelling typo in the heading. fingers went too fast!)
-
I just purchased a $500 card for $450....They also had the $100 available!
Hurry!
-
You didn't by chance do the Sailaway Snorkle and Beach cruise did you? We are doing the same itinerary on 6/4 and I just booked that excursion last night, specifically because we wanted to catamaran.
Thanks so much for your review!

If I offended you with my reply, I apologize. It was not meant as such.
Oh my gosh not at all! I even commented that I did not take it that way even the slightest! You give a lot of very good, straight-forward advice and I always enjoy your posts. Like I said, no worries at all :)

I booked a 5 day on the Sunshine for April 22 this past February, and the fare is up over $500 if I do a mock reservation. Glad I booked when I did!
