  1. I saw a great deal for these previously Cuba sailings in my offers but ran into the same thing (only 2 per cabin).  After exploring around I found a sailing on June 22 which allowed me to book it for 3.  We got (a casino deal) Oceanview for $50 each plus $60 for a third person and $100 onboard credit.  It's unfortunate a lot of people did not get the Cuba trip they wanted but this was an exceptional price for a summer cruise.

  2. I cruised Fantasy in December. After 17 cruise (4 on the Fantasy from different ports) this was my first bad cruise (but we made the best we could of it). Terrible room steward, disrepair of the cabin including an upper bunk left unlocked that almost killed my wife when it fell unexpectedly, multiple sewage backups evidenced by bad smells and the many fans in the halls trying to dry carpet. They may have been having a bad week but I will never cruise this ship again.

  3. We took the same cruise and you're right on the money with your review. I would add the Juggler (Dana Tison) was absolutely great entertainment. He involved members of the audience and had a fantastic wit.

    We had a 5 year old grandson along and had to give up on the water slides the morning of the second sea day when we saw lightning in the distance but considering the storm that blew through Charleston the day we left we had great weather overall.

    I loved that this cruise went as far south as possible then worked its way north, the 2 sea day at the front of the cruise were great. We've taken similar cruises out of Charleston that started in Nassau (which I can live without also) and liked this much better.

    The big LEARN for me on this cruise is to check on local holidays, it turned out to be Labor Day in Nassau with a parade down Bay St and many shops closed for the day. I think the parade was more fun that the many shops selling the same crap so even though it was a surprise it was a good one.

  4. We drove from South Carolina for this cruise and enjoyed the Dream. I also noticed the sewage smell (quite strong) in the hallways mid-ship deck 7 but it faded by the time we reached our room in the aft. 4 out of 5 nights we chose the ATD dining room were great, Thanksgiving Night was horrible with our order lost and our waiter simply disappeared for some unknown reason. There was a LOT of ship movement, according to other passengers it was due to a heavy cross wind. The highlight of this cruise was the Casino for me, unlike other cruises there were far fewer smokers in the casino and very little problem with smoke which was a pleasant surprise.

  5. I swear by Harbor Freight Rain Ponchos, big and roomy, tough as can be and just 2.49 before any of the many % off coupons you can find online. We have done rainy runs down the Belize River after the Ruins, Mini Boats and other excursions where other guests have turned back or called it a day. Honestly a rainy excursion is one of your best chances to a have a smaller group and some amazing rainbows that make lifetime memories.

  6. Select tends to be for shorter cruises. We got this for a four night on the Fascination in August. Lanyards and DOU cards were in our stateroom upon arrival and on the next to last day we got a card to come to the casino for a gift which turned out to be two bottles of booze (you select from four choices). No priority boarding or other perks but a great rate and some casino perks.

  7. I play blackjack and the dealers can be very entertaining and sometimes helpful. When playing for several hours you can make mistakes and many are good about keeping up with how you play and will pause to ask if you are sure if you do something stupid and that can save you some Money. When I order a drink I will get $10 change in $1 chips to tip the server and if I am enjoying the dealer I will play the rest of the $1 chips as side bets for the dealer. Since the drinks are usually free I consider it a wash and an investment in a new friendship.

  8. Back today from a 4 day Fascination cruise. Our first out of Jacksonville and no complaints, they treated us well. Even though we booked Pack and Play ($50 each and $100 onboard credit) we found Casino Select lanyards and drink cards waiting for us in the room upon arrival. On the last day we got a note to drop by the casino between 3 and 4 for a free gift. I was given the choice of 2 bottles of booze and a nice bag.

    So did someone slip up or are others seeing their Pack and Play upgraded to Casino Select?

  9. To complicate this a little more, I have 3 cruises booked at the free casino rate, all are paid fully (just port fees and taxes) and on the third of the 3 I will pass the marker to become Platinum. It does not show Priority at this time but of course I have not reached the point where it alone would push me over the mark. As I complete cruises 1 and 2 and approach cruise 3 do you think that will change or since I've prepaid all 3 will I have to wait until the next cruise after these to be acknowledged as Platinum?

  10. Stockholder Credit is not visible on the web site but will print on your paper documents.

    I have 3 free cruises booked through the end of the year and submitted my request a couple of days ago. As previously noted free cruises are excluded but if you upgrade a free cruise you can get the credit.

    Here is the reply I got;

    Thank you for providing us with the required documentation in order to process your shareholder onboard credit. However, we are unable to apply the onboard credit to booking #'s xxxxxx and xxxxxx, as the shareholder credit is not applicable on complimentary or reduced-fare cruises.

    We have, however, made the exception to apply the credit to booking # xxxxxx as you have paid additional cruise fare in order to upgrade your cabin. The onboard credit has been applied to your reservation and will be posted on your sail and sign account.

    I'm happy!
